  1. Why does it have two fuel caps?
  2. Canada usually has the same sales as we do here in the states.
  3. It should last until holiday season 2012, that would be a year and a half. It could possibly last longer if sales are up.
  4. @tduby Actually the hundred series have in-line 6 cylinder engines, the thousand series have in-line 4 cylinder engines. The thousand series is more off-road then the hundred series, so they have in-line 4 cylinder engines for better weight distribution. I wonder if Lego meant this to be a thousand series instead of a hundred series. I've also never heard of a Unimog having a 5 cylinder engine, but I don't also know the specs of all Unimogs. And for you 3 new and 1 old engine pieces, you can probably contact Lego and get a replacement piece(s) to have matching engine pieces. And the new style is supposed to give the engine a smoother look for more accurate representation of real vehicles. And welcome to Eurobricks tduby!
  5. 9393 is still missing, and it's supposed to be a "tractor". The last two we've had were the exact same vehicle with different attatchments. maybe this one too?
  6. The new engine pieces came with my Unimog yesterday. So they must be replacing the old pieces with a more accurate piece, to make the engine look smoother.
  7. Hey Paul do you mind savin some for the rest of us?
  8. At Lego's shop site, they've discounted a lot of sets. Unfortunately they've only discounted the 8041 Race Truck. I'm not sure if its a good deal for extra pieces or not, so look for yourself! http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Race-Truck-8041 http://shop.lego.com/en-CA/Race-Truck-8041 I couldn't find it for the UK, but I found older sets on there compared to the US and Canada sites. But the 8052 Container Truck is discounted, although I'm not sure if this is new or not since i don't look at the UK shop much. http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Container-Truck-8052
  9. Ok so I'm supposed to be getting mine pretty soon, and I was going to rc it but I'm not sure what motor to use to steer it. Do you think that a m-motor would be enough to steer it if i replace the friction pins with a cross-axle and some beams, or would it need an xl-motor? I already know that it needs xl for drive. And how many degrees do the wheels turn when fully turned? Any help would be appreciated. I need to know asap!
  10. I never use brick shelf. I usually get myself lost with so many things to look at.
  11. I was going to get the 8110 Unimog, but apparently it was on back order for Febuary but i had to push my limits by threatining to cancel my order, but the nice customer service representative lady said that she would try to find one. She found one in Chicago, but the over-night was too late for Thursday, so it shipped o-n on Friday, didn't show up on Saturday, and today cause of holiday. So maybe tomorrow! And I'm not sure if its considered technic, but i got all the new ninjago sets today, and they have technic beams. so i guess i got semi-technic gifts. If thats even possible. :edit: Tomorrow my relatives are coming down from Minnisota, so I guess that I'm still in luck for other technic. I guess I have an extended christmas with family and all.
  12. Hi all! I was on LDD the other day thinking of a way to make the Unimog crane have LAs, but I could not fit two u-joints/cv-joints inside the turntable. So I was thinking that lego should make a double u-joint/cv-joint. Basically putting two back to back but having a shorter shaft between to two, making it easier for smaller spaces. I was also thinking that there should be smaller crown gears, since crown gears are the non-beveled gear tooth count and have a half bevel quality. (having 2 in a corner is an example) I was trying that for the same idea as my LA Unimog crane, but the crown gear fits perfectly inside the turntable, so that wouldn't work out since it cant turn, and it needed to be a crown gear for the n-b gear tooth count and the half bevel quality because of the setup it was in. What do you think of these ideas? Would they be useful or just a useless piece? And what are your ideas for wanted pieces?
  13. Ok I'm supposed to be getting my unimog tomorrow!! But it was on backorder and i had to push my own limits to get it before Febuary. So first thing im going to do is make a cabin lift, that will keep the cab suspended and have a slower downward motion. I will use use part 53586, Technic, Axle and Pin Connector Perpendicular with Extension, from Rotor, set 7162; which is orange and I'm hoping its Unimog orange. And with that piece, I will use part x1739, from Bionicle Axonn, set 8733; which is black, so I thought the combo would be better Part 53586: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=53586 Rotor: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=7162-1 Part x1739: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x1739 Axonn: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?S=8733-1 I will also mod the steering so that it is easier to turn. And at some point i will fully remote control it and make some other functions, possibly motorized outriggers.
  14. @jadedomg Actually no, if you look at the instructions, there is no other area to put the motor because its so compact.
  15. @Meatman Wasn't that also the price before technic prices started to go up? I've noticed that especially the flagships have gone somewhat up in price.
  16. @Blakbird That was my idea also! Being able to rotate the instructions would be a helpful thing in virtual instructions.
  17. Could the "L" motor finally be our high speed/high torque motor we've been waiting for? Or at least higher speed then xl, and higher torque then m? Or faster then even m and higher torque then xl?
  18. Make a trailer, and experiment with different kind of hitches.
  19. @sama Your BS folder is not yet public.
  20. I am also thinking of it not being a "video" exactly but more of like a menue type setup, where you have to click arrows (i.e. "left" and "right" buttons, symbolized by an "arrow") and, @allanp, At the time I wasn't really thinking about everyone when i made my original post on here, since I have 2 TVs in my own use, a desktop computer, 2 laptops, a tablet, and a Playstation 3. Sorry if I offended anyone thinking that they had their own sources of using my idea, but then again I did mention that paper instructions would still be in use for those whom don't have the tools for virtual instructions.
  21. @Matt The Tuba Guy All of the pictures aren't uploaded apparently, but in the next day all of them are supposed to be up.
  22. The models look great. The flagship isnt that appealing to me, but i need to see better pics of it first, but the helicopter looks absolutely amazing. Excuse me for double posting. But are the wheels and tires on the rock crawler (flagship, I'm not sure what its called) the power puller tires without the letters? Original pp wheel/tire: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?P=22969c02 pp wheel/tire w/out words: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?P=22969c01 Edit: the tires without words are on 8466, 4 x 4 Off Roader.
  23. Some themes wouldn't work with my idea, or large sets of mostly bricks and plates.
  24. I think that Lego should try to do digital instructions, but not a video. A step-by-step model of how the pieces fit together would be nice, with the possibility of being able to turn the virtual model to see how things fit. I also think that the instructions should be for download off their website, or put it on a CD/DVD/Blu-Ray so that we can play it on our tv (if you have a dvd/br player) that way we can get a bigger and better picture, and still control everything via remote. And as a final thought, Lego should make a conversion to the digital instructions, have a paper booklet with a cd of the digital, and from there if they get good feedback, continue with the conversion and with bad feedback, slow down the conversion or stop it. I think for Technic, this is the best idea so that the instructions are easier to understand.
  25. @Montage I've had this issue also. Have you tried opening free build in LDD Extended mode or Lego Universe mode? Using those two would be the best because of some of the pieces wouldn't be placed correctly in normal or Mindstorms modes. But for whatever reason LDD no longer imports a model if you're in the home screen, but will open if you're in building.
