  1. Thanks, im still not completely sure how they worked, but maybe someday ill get some off of bricklink and mess around with them since im more of a hands-on person
  2. how do you make the tube thing bend?
  3. whats with the half-bushes having the almost gear looking side? ive seen them on old sets before but i never understood why they were like that.
  4. why not make the cross axle and the pinhole 3 units wide (instead of your 1 and lego's 2 unit wide) and possibly have the center unit be hollow for easier build? and change your 7.5 unit length difference to a whole number? anyone think this is a good idea?
  5. why is the gear completely wrapped in chain? is it even possible to get it back off?
  6. @tim ok so the old buggy motor had one, but what about people who are just startin out with technic (like me) so why not just make a new one anyways, if there is going to be a rock crawler next year as the flagship, they have to create some high torque and high speed motor if its rc
  7. how about a high speed and high torque motor, since the xl is slower than the m (and much slower than the e-motor, for those of you who know about it) like lets say i want my unimog to have speed, but using the m motor wont work because of lack of torque on such a big vehicle (and wont work with the e-motor, since it has virtually no torque) so i say high speed/high torque motor
  8. hey Blackbird, if you had an unlimited number of air tanks, how many would it take on the unimog without running the motor constantly?
  9. why wouldnt they? is it because it would be unrealistic? but i thought lego was about imagination... but maybe not for technic
  10. @le60head ok i see what you mean now. and in the simplest terms i can think of for proportional, without using the dictionary term, is like the speed rc controller. on the speed you can set how fast a motor turns, on regular you cant, basically its setting how much power goes to the motor, but with lights it doesnt work.
  11. they used those in a flagship???
  12. @grohl your idea for the proportional remote controller, there already is one! the speed rc controller http://brickset.com/detail/?Set=8879-1
  13. i saw a vid on that or somthin similar to it, and thats what inspired me to start this topic
  14. @le60head that makes no sense... you need the new remote and receiver to get the extra channels.
  15. tim nice idea how about faster linear actuator??
  16. can you draw a diagram KEvron??
  17. nice keepin secrets from fans i already know my project around christmas is modding the unimog to fix the problem in the front axle, motorizing it, and making orange snow plow, and thats all for my first project oh and which do you recomend... the regular rc remote or the speed rc remote?? ive heard that speed is more accurate on turning
  18. if hes using a xl motor, he could be using the bands to slow down the speed a little bit so that it doesnt go so fast
  19. @KEvron 3 way swith for??? are you meaning like a polarity switch that can switch between 3 functions??
  20. yes, I know everyones probably tired of talking about this or that of rock crawlers, but what if it is the flagship for next year.... does it have to be big with the steep pricetag of $200 US dollars?? or can it be smaller and have rc functions? and ive been looking at lego wheels and the biggest ones ive found are, Wheel Hard Plastic Spoked Giant Thin (160mm D. x 28mm) and what if theres two side by side to make a wheel? whats your ideas on it?
  21. haha im confusing myself also, i think i over-explained it. if you look at the instructions (any of them) it has the center diff connecting to the crossaxle that has the knob gear for steering through a set of gears, some normal and some of the greenish clutch, and the xl motor that drives the mog is connected in the center of the set of gears, and the last gear is meshed with the center diff. im just not understanding how that works if the center diff is connecting to the turning though gears, unless im reading the instructions wrong, which is possible. and do you think i should use a speed ir remote instead of a normal one??
  22. well i mean one meant for technic, like the one that comes in the motor set, and where i live theres not many electronics stores that will sell a battery box, and the nearest hobby store that has one that might be good enough is over 2 cities away from me, plus for people like me who dont know how to rewire the cables to make it match lego's pf connectors, it wont work and where would we get a conversion cable? and thank you Sok for agreeing with me
  23. again very nice vehicle but i do have a suggestion... instead of all of the bricks on the cab, why not use technic beams and plates? the model would be more sturdy then, and possibly a bit lighter weight, but its your choice. and still very nice, and whats your next project?
  24. Hello people, this is my first topic so wish me luck! Ok so i was reading about the xs motor topic and the longer pneumatic topic, and i was thinking, so i made this to discus all ideas of power functions! My first idea was for a new battery box, one(s) like we have now, but have more power. Someone at TLC (name excapes my mind right now, plus this was a while back) The battery box can power 2 XL- Motors or 4 M- Motors or 1 XL- Motor, and 2 M- Motors and any combination of lights and RC... well for alot of us (us as in AFOLs that make MOCs all the time) use multiple (as in 3 or more) xl motors and tons (maybe sometimes too excessive) lights, huge rc remotes using multiple (again 3 or more) rc receivers, or any combination that would destroy the battery box (on huge mocs, ones that use like 4 ir receivers and like 4 xl motors and the excessive amount of lights and tons of m motors, would right out slaughter the battery box) so i was thinking of making a battery box that could hold alot of functions, yes it would be bigger, but its better than using multiple battery boxes! anyone with me on this??
  25. amazing but what did you use as the tarp on the back? and what does it look like under the tarp?
