  1. @Paul Don't pay attention to the dislikes on good models like that. It's usually just competition being a sore loser when someone creates the better model, a non-LEGO fan (i.e. Megablocks fan, or any other generic LEGO) or just a youtube troll. Sorry this is off-topic but its better for people to know then to wonder!
  2. @barman are you thinking the trucks should be 18 studs wide?
  3. @timr I'm pretty sure that it works as a normal dif does, then using a bevel setup on the ends to make the gears horizontal, then a clutch gear on the ends. But thats just my thoughts.
  4. @sama 9397 is either 15 studs exactly (looking at front bumper) or a bit wider
  5. Does the hinge have a return to center function whenever the fork is pulled up, like 8462 had?
  6. @radar92 Thanks! That will definitely help me with my MOCing on my laptop using ldd, that is until i get my hands on my own Unimog. (I'm hoping for christmas)
  7. I have a kinda odd question. On the Unimog, how far apart are the beams that attachments can be pegged to, and where inbetween those beams is the ppto shaft?
  8. What all can we stick through a turntable? I remember on a technicbricks post it said we could fit an axle, or a LA/MiniLA, or up to 4 pneumatic tubes (4? I think thats a bit crazy)
  9. Why do trucks with winches (usually the bigger trucks) have 50cm strings but small sets like the mini crane have 100cm string?
  10. How do you create the tilting bed, the one where it can tilt in 3 directions?
  11. I just noticed that 9393 is missing and 9396 is. Is it possibly that they're 2H2012 models?
  12. JSG can you possibly post a video or pictures of just the model and its functions?
  13. Wow those panels are pretty rare if your not a big collector. Looks like the log truck will be a pretty big truck. Anyone know of where to find it or will it be released in a 2Q2012 type wave, I know lego has done some quarter releases before.
  14. What panels are you talking about?
  15. @TheTechnicKiwi Why not just use the adapter for the pf rechargeable battery?
  16. I'm not an expert. But the shock absorbers will depend on what the vehicle would be, stiffer would be better for off-road or if you going to be using the spring alot more (in a sense they last longer.) And again, like the springs, the tires depend on what the vehicle is. The off-roader tires are more for off road but the unimog is also off-road but i think it would be better for you to use the off road tires for now until you have the chance to buy more unimog ones, or another set comes out with the unimog tires. All of it is dependant on the vehicle type, extreme off road would need stiff springs and off-roader tires and if its like the unimog, which can go off road if you choose, wouldn't need the stiffer springs and you could still use the off-roader tire but the unimog tire would give it a nicer look.
  17. @radar92 No, I mean the smaller version of tracks that can go around the non-beveled gears. http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3873
  18. @radar92 What about using a large gears and using the smaller track pieces? Would that be more accurate?
  19. How many Technic, Link Tread Wide with Two Pin Holes pieces would we need to make the unimog a unimog unitrac? I know I have tons of these but I need to find them and see if I have enough.
  20. @dhc6twinotter That could also be Toy R Us's price, if you have not noticed before some legos they sell (either common ones found everywhere or ones they sell first) are at a higher price. So that tow truck may actually be lower in price then we all expect, so i guess we wait and see what prices other stores have when they're released.
  21. @Blakbird Ok thanks. I know in the past lego had used some kind of shiny paint to make certain things look chromed but i wasn't sure about the wheels.
  22. @DLuders The same wheels might be used but there has to be new tires made mor out of soft rubber, which are better for climbing, and i think the portal hubs from the mog are too small for a rock crawler, so we might get bigger ones or extensions to them. Plus i think that the new mini turntable will have alot to do with the suspension and the degrees of the tilting of the axles.
  23. @DLuders Are those wheels chromed or just silver plastic or glittery or what? I've always thought they were kinda shiny like metal or chrome and i thought they would be more accurate to actual wheels if I didn't get black.
