  1. Keep in mind that the electrical parts on this model are really cool. I was also initially thinking about building it without them, but the headlights turn with the steering and the effect is fun to watch. You'd probably miss it without the LEDs.
  2. You won't be disappointed, folks. This is a great model.
  3. I've got some renders done for this model. Much larger versions available at my Bricksafe. I liked the look of the rear view of the orange model so much that I went in and edited it pixel by pixel to hide the sticker edges and make it look as good as possible. I'm still working on the RC cutaway and a revolving animation. I wanted to point out that the original versions of these renders didn't look as good because the stickers were all flat. Luckily, Thorsten and I discovered Philo's "Slicer Pro" tool which will project a flat pattern onto a curved surface, and now everything looks much better.
  4. Damaged boxes do not get given or sold to employees. If someone is selling reduced price merchandise (new sets), then they are stolen. Count on it.
  5. I built this model a couple of weeks ago and want to compliment on the quality of both the design and the instructions. This is really a great MOC, and easily deserves a spot on my shelf. I thought it deserved a few renders too:
  6. This is marvelous. Many times I wish I had such a thing.
  7. I was going to sell a couple of modules including Cup to Cup. Send me an offline note if you are interested.
  8. That's a fantastic build and very worthy of comparison to Akiyuki. In fact, it is good enough to have its own topic so people can see it rather than being buried 34 pages inside the Akiyuki thread.
  9. It doesn't need to be that hard. I just use a tiny piece of foil to bridge the terminals.
  10. Amazing model! Looking forward to displaying it next to the BMW and the Ferrari 458. Now that 11x3 curved panels are going to be available in black, do you think it would be easy for a builder to convert the roof of the AMG model to use them using the Silber instructions, or are there other changes to the roof that would make that difficult?
  11. No, I didn't have any trouble once I figured out I was using the wrong springs. However, I had too much power, not too little.
  12. This is tough one. I have built A LOT of models from many builders, and I certainly have an opinion on them. However, rating them according to which are better seems harsh to me since I don't want to discourage anyone because their MOCs are "not as good" as someone else's. I suppose this is what reviews are for, but nowhere near all MOCs have reviews. In general, MOCs which use a lot of System parts at strange angles to approve appearance are likely to be less durable. FWIW Lipko, your models are very sturdy. Arguably your V-12 couple was too sturdy. ;-)
  13. I didn't even know about that car! It looks really nice. At any rate, you will find instructions for at least half a dozen Crowkillers cars.
  14. Scroll through the Hall of Fame on this forum and you'll find lots of good ideas. All of Crowkillers' cars have instructions and no motors, the same for Nathanael Kuipers. Jurgen Krooshoop has an awesome manual Corvette. I built the manual version of Sheepo's VW bus.
  15. Your images are far too large. Please limit them to 1000 pixels wide, thanks.
  16. Thanks for the opinions everyone, but let's get this thread back on topic: the Scorpion supercar.
  17. The comment was about Technica, an older site that Technicopedia referenced as inspiration. The names are similar so I understand the confusion.
  18. I think there is a clear moral difference between supporting 3rd party vendors who make LEGO compatible parts and supporting companies who make illegal duplicates of actual LEGO sets. Although I'd like to build the model with these white parts as well, I won't give any money to such a company. No doubt the white model looks awesome though.
  19. This is a super creative build. Not only is it a mechanical marvel, but making it take a GoPro through the machine was a stroke of genius. The video is very well edited as well.
  20. Thanks. That front page has never been updated so some of that stuff is pretty old. I'll try to remember to take care up it in the next revision.
  21. I probably will eventually. However, I have a lot of other projects happening at the moment and new projects will likely be a higher priority that updating already finished instructions.
  22. If this is your noob effort then I am a fetus. Good work.
  23. That's probably because the cheap plastic LEGO mirror reflects off the front surface while a cheap glass mirror reflects off the back surface. For laser reflecting, you really want a "first surface" mirror.
  24. This is a really great model. I saw it briefly at BrickCon, but sadly I was in the middle of a move during that weekend so I could only attend for a couple of hours. I would have liked to spend more time looking at the details. When you finish the LDD, I'd be happy to make a cutaway render showing everything going on inside.
