Many thanks for the descriptions, CM4Sci! These sound amazing! I was interested in the answer to Lyichir's question as well (below). Thanks in advance for answering our questions! -

"Full ugly" would certainly be cool! Although that does not keep to the current design trends of Friends/Elves/Disney Princess, you never know. :) Some kind of combination would be fun, like if the Goblin King has human features with green skin. Also, cool that 2017 2016 (SWNELoveAngel caught my mistake - thanks!) is the 30th anniversary of Jim Henson's "Labyrinth," and his goblin characters. -
LEGO Elves 2017 Discussion

Thanks for the set names, "The Cobra!" Lego Elves continues to impress! I am very excited to see the Lego Elves Goblin King. There are so many interesting design options, and many films come to mind. TLG could create a creepy appearance, like the Goblin King in "The Princess and the Goblin." Or, they could make him good looking, like Jareth the Goblin King in "Labyrinth." Looking forward to the sets even more now! Also, regarding Sophie Jones, she might be a baby. A new baby mold for Friends would be welcome, could appear in the new Friends house set, and also appear here. Maybe, like "Labyrinth," Sophie is stolen by the Goblin King. He wants Emily's amulet, and will trade Sophie Jones for the amulet (because of the amulet's magic, it has to be given to him willingly). So, Emily has to rescue Sophie, her sister/cousin/etc. So many possibilities! -
Minifig Review: Ahsoka from set 75158
phanstasm replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Many thanks for the Ahsoka minifigure review, DarthTwoShedsJackson! "Rebels" and "The Clone Wars" are two of my favorite shows, and Ahsoka is one of my favorite characters as well. So, I am very pleased to see that the final minifigure looks good! I am still curious why TLG was able to print Shaak Ti's headgear closer to her forehead, but for this Ahsoka there is a noticeable white space between her tiara and head. It is not a terrible thing, but I am curious. Still, Ahsoka looks much better in your photos than in the initial box image, and I am very happy with the design. Also, thanks for pointing out the extra effort, the "double printing," that TLG put in to the head design. I do feel bad that your second Ahsoka head was misprinted, but I appreciate that you shared the image so that we could see the extra printing efforts that TLG did for the head. -
Question: has it been revealed which 2016 set will include Samukai? If you look at the lower left of a few Summer 2016 boxes, there is a shot of all of the villains, including Samukai. I thought he might be in the Airjitzu Battle Grounds (which look amazing!), but now we know that is not the case.

Thanks for the news, CM4Sci! Funny, I just bought the Cinderella Castle from the minidoll line to use with the Disney CMF. I wonder if some sort of vehicle, creature, etc. will be included in the set, much like Simpsons house includes the family car and Kwik-E-Mart includes a police car. A simple Disney World parade float would be nice. A brick-built Maleficent in Dragon form would be my first choice, as is featured in the Fantasmic park show. (Including a more angry-faced Maleficent minifigure in the set would be great too.) However, that dragon would probably require too many parts. Curses! Maybe an idea for a second Disney D2C set. A very simple Disney World structure that I hope is included is the iconic statue with Walt and Mickey. Just give the CMF Mickey short legs, and it should be okay.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
phanstasm replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Regarding Two-Face's hairpiece: at first I thought the damaged side was hair, but after looking at the image below the sculpt more resembles blobs of melted plastic - like a kid put the minifigure over an open flame and created their own Two-Face. Cool idea, and it fits with the jokes in "The Lego Movie." -
Disney Collectible Minifigures Series 1 Discussion
phanstasm replied to just2good's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks so much for the image, CM4Sci, and thanks for scaling it up, deskp (your idea to print the Genie eyebrows on the bald cap and stretch the face a bit really improves the figure). After seeing deskp's larger image, I like the series more. I think my only complaint now, as Oky pointed out, is that Ursula uses a black torso. Unless the lavender torso is not currently in production (maybe used on Daisy, actually), I do not understand why the black torso was a good idea. Favorites: Peter Pan, Aladdin, and Maleficent (minus the oversized collar, plus a modified staff and Tonto's raven for Diablo). Maleficent!!! Thank you, Lego!!!- 4,155 replies

I just wanted to thank the Lego Elves team for making such great sets!!! Star Wars is my favorite IP, and it has so much potential, but all of the waves consist of gray/white/black ships. They are good representations of the ships, but there are few playsets. The Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons have such interesting, colorful locations, but they were never made in to sets. After building Farran's Crystal Hollow a few weeks ago, I started to pick up some of the other 2015 Elves sets. Now I'm hooked! The sets are great as they are, or they provide exceptional starting points for mods. With some color and part swaps, I'm looking forward to using Skyra's Castle (and Dragon Sanctuary) as a small Jedi temple. The Jedi logo has wings in it, so Skyra's wing-inspired decor works nicely. The 2016 sets look amazing, and I can't wait to pick up the Secret Marketplace, the Dragon Sanctuary, Queen Dragon's Rescue, and Ragana's Magic Shadow Castle. Keep up the great work, Elves team! (Oh, and the Elves cartoon was very entertaining and charming too - I hope there is another 25 minute cartoon for the 2016 sets!) Edit: Those are some great MOCs in the previous posts!

I just noticed that Luminara is continuing the trend of giving select females colored eyes (like Stass Allie and Hera). It is slightly annoying because now her head is not a perfect fit with the existing Barriss minifigure. Barriss has normal black eyes. Other than that, a perfect figure! So, if they can make eye color changes like these, breaking past design trends, why can't they change and correct the skin color for clones like Rex? I really hope Ahsoka does not have colored eyes, but she probably will.

The front of the Tie/A-Wing set clearly shows Vader without leg printing, but the back of the box shows him with leg printing. You will have to zoom in on the image, but you can see that on the back of the box his left leg has printing: http://www.jedinews.co.uk/images/galleries/ustoyfair2016/LEGO/LEGO_26.jpg

I am very happy that we are getting more Rebels sets, especially Rex's AT-TE! As others have said, it would have been better if the clones had a darker head color. In TLG's defense, it probably has to do with the reference that they were given. Edit: never mind, Hasbro got Rex’s skin color correct for their Rebels figure. So, Lego should have been able to get it right too. It's a shame, because I can't see Lego making Gregor and Wolf again soon to correct the problem.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
phanstasm replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I got two Specters, and was surprised to find that their hoods are molded slightly differently than the old dark gray Dementor hoods. The hoods appear to be the same in the marketing photos. However, when comparing the real things side-by-side, the Specter hoods do not show as much of the minifigure neck as the Dementor hood. I wonder if the hood mold is new for the Specter, or if Lego has been producing this new hood for a while and I never noticed. -
Hi, Hulk_Smash! Do you know if Hera in the Ghost microfighter has a new head print? (Fingers crossed for black eyes this time.) Thanks so much for answering all of our questions!!!

Thanks for the link, Fire spray 31! I remember when Kenner put out pamphlets like that in the 1990's - fun times and good toys . I am looking forward to seeing how Lego showcases all of their Episode 7 products in the club magazines, online outlets, etc.

Is Rey's desert headwrap in set 75099 actually supposed to be the same color as her outfit? It kind of seems that way after doing a quick Google search on "Episode 7 Rey Costume." Edit: I ask because Hasbro's figure, that comes with the speeder, has a matching headwrap and outfit - link to picture of Hasbro's Speeder with Rey figure on Sir Steve's Guide. Lego's does not match.

Thanks for the pictures!!! Rather than a new helmet mold, I would have preferred a new hood mold for Kylo, one that does not cover any torso details. The existing hood, which does cover torso details, hurts select minifigures - like Doctor Doom, where his iconic clasps are too hidden because of the hood. Everything else I really like! The First Order Transporter is great - superb minifigures and a nifty vehicle! It would work great as is, or for other themes like Marvel Super Heroes - especially for a Red Skull, Hydra, and Captain America battle. I wonder if the female officer in Kylo's Command Shuttle is Gwendelen Christie without her armor.

[LDD MOC] Anakin Skywalker's Podracer

Nice job on everything! I would buy that. Are those the "Life on Mars" alien legs on the Pit Droid? Looks great!- 10 replies

Thanks for the list! If the Tie Advanced microfighter does include the Season 1 Inquisitor, I would be ecstatic if they made two updates: give him a closed-mouth, sneering face print for variety and, rather than plain dark gray legs, use the duel-molded Batman legs. They are going to be producing a ton of them for BvS movie sets anyway, I guess, so they might as well use them. They probably would have to shorten the leg print a bit, though. I hope that you are right!

Wow, the Brick Show's video really makes the Sith Infiltrator look great - love the cockpit interior and playfeatures. I may have to pick that one up after all. I do agree with the comments about Darth Maul's face and Watto's hands, and I wish that we could have had Darth Sidious in here rather than Anakin. I would love to have a head with Sidious' shadded eyes! That was a great toy by Kenner. I would really like that minifigure too!!! FYI: the character appears in the movie "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" (highly recommend it).

Thanks for the minifigure pictures - spectacular! Rey's hair piece is amazing!

The Millennium Falcon and X-Wing look really neat, and the new minifigures look great! I am disappointed that they are still using those paint applications on Chewbacca. The tan(?) face fur continues to look off to me - like he took a pie to the face. Maybe a different color for the face fur, or skipping the extra face fur paint altogether, would be better. Still, I do love the Chewbacca mold!

Thanks for sharing the link, tormentalous! That was so nice of Alan Tran to photograph all of those pages!!!

Thanks for the Sith Infiltrator video, just2good! The ship has great play functions! After getting a nice look at Maul's head print (as he exits the ship in the video) it looks like the tattoos down the bridge of his nose are wrong. Also, it seems like there is too much black at the base of his nose. I think the set would have been better for me if they reused the polybag Maul head, and included Padme (Battle of Naboo outfit) rather than R2-D2. That way, instead of designing a new Maul head, that portion of the Star Wars team's budget could be used for the new Padme torso. Watto is not in this scene, so including Padme would have been okay as well (especially since the whole point of Maul being on Tatooine was to capture Padme). Also, it would have given everyone the perfect Padme to go with the Flash Speeder, and, maybe, because of that help to sell a few more Sith Infiltrators and Flash Speeders.

If the Sith Infiltrator minifigures are shown, I am surprised The Brick Show did not snap a quick picture for their Facebook, Flickr, etc. I guess we will have to wait until June 1 or for one of just2good's excellent reviews to see if Darth Maul has printed legs and if Qui-Gon has a poncho.
