  1. It really does seem like they included an orange figure simply to get collectors to buy the set. You're spot on with you mentioning it looks like a cheap Creator set They're eating and drinking THROUGH THEIR HELMETS? And I would hope that in the space future, these intergalactic greasy spoons at least have the common courtesy of having the modern equivalent of a coat rack to hang your oxygen tank on. I'd hate to take my chances holding my breath on my way back to my ship after downing a Cassiopeia burger with quasar fries.
  2. It looks nice, but I think with a lot of the classic Space sets, they very carefully made sure that the color schemes were consistent. I don't know...it feels like I'm seeing too much blue and white, maybe a little more black, and especially some more transparent orange, especially in the front. Maybe add some larger flood front lighting for night drilling? Otherwise I love the idea and execution.
  3. The trader's house is my favorite of the three. Very nice work.
  4. No no...I mean the castle set ITSELF is like a castle made out of minifigures and baby goats. But that would be interesting to have a minifigure holding a shield...that was made out of another minifigure.
  5. I hope the next castle set is made out of nothing but minifigures and baby goats.
  6. I hope we have a nice influx of animals with the next medieval set. Maybe a pig sty, cattle coral and a horse stable attached to a butcher shop.
  7. You know, not to be a stickler for accuracy, but did we really need a modern painters' palette? They're probably about 200 years off there.
  8. It looks like the buildings will fold together, which is better than nothing, but I would have preferred a standard build. If it's an issue of "keeping the piece count down" I would gladly do away with things like the tree, the chairbler and even the stupid smoke plumes. I'm also in the vast minority of someone who would take less Minifigures in favor of more of a real build.
  9. This is why releasing pictures in advance is important. Just imagine if something could have been done to adjust some of the issues before release (if Lego decided to listen to the critics) instead of wait just weeks before the product hits shelves to show us what is coming out.
  10. Thank you! So the buildings don't look like they're complete. I really hope this isn't a situation where the back wall is missing. If that is the case, then this is a massive pass.
  11. Was the picture removed? I'm not finding anything.
  12. Yellow all the way! I like keeping it simple. I actually always wanted POC when I was younger, but always would have preferred to go the Simpsons route in that regard. I should preface that I prefer the Yellows from the mid 80's to the late 90's...so none of those screaming faces or slanted mouths.
  13. I saw this earlier in my feed, and got really excited for it. Then when I zoomed in and saw it was babies, my first thought was this was an early April Fool's joke...but then it set in. Yeah, I gotta pass on this. I really don't like when they gimmick up a good rerelease with something silly. It'll have it's audience, but I wish they would have just released something a little more standard.
  14. Absolutely beautiful. I love the yellow brick design, it would be my ideal choice if I ever designed my own.
  15. Really cool idea. I recently bought the Stingray Stormer, and I always thought this was an underrated theme.
  16. So Series 25 has been popping up all over the place recently. And just as a lot of people have expected, lots and lots of opened and vandalized packaging. One Wal-Mart had like 30 boxes, all of which were torn open and spilling out. A few boxes were completely empty. So that was fun.
  17. I wouldn't mind if they did series based off the themes of each year. So like 1988 would have a mix of Futuron, Forestmen, etc.
  18. Easily Redbeard, but not that later ugly one. Give me the one from the 90's. Skulls Eye Schooner is without a doubt my absolute favorite pirate ship. I wasn't even aware that Ironhook was a captain. I just assumed he was some kind of Lennie Smalls 'dumb' pirate who enjoyed cosplaying as Redbeard.
  19. It's true that the sets are going to be out long afterward, but not being a "Day 1" buy for me comes down to waiting too long. It's similar to movies...you want to see a movie when it first comes out, you don't want to have to wait if you don't have to. But without the trailer to sell you on the movie, then it's less interesting. Also, I don't buy on Day 1 either, but the sooner I see the product the sooner I prepare for it. Once the release date comes, I typically don't reconsider what my decision is at that point. Call it being too rigid, but I allocate money very carefully and if I'm not sold by the time I can actually buy it, I'm probably not going to spend much more time reconsidering.
  20. I'll be honest, the shorter the timespan between the set being shown and the set being released....the less enthused I am about a set. I think hype is important. And there's really no reason to *not* show off this set by now. As an adult, I like to plan out how I spend my money, not impulsively buy something because it was a last minute novelty. Assuming my enthusiasm is going to guarantee a purchase is the wrong mindset. If anything, letting me mull it over several weeks through the images usually encourages purchase.
  21. Yup.
  22. Weirdly, it reminds me of a bizarre Cherry Coke commercial from the 90's.
  23. This was my first 'big' set as a kid. Not having much money, I always had to settle for tiny sets, but I was so happy when I got this. I would have liked to put an alligator in the little cove, but otherwise it still remains one of my all time favorites.
