  1. The Anubian stands against the building, seemingly waiting on someone or something. He is holding a large sword with a hook in it, it is made of bone, but it looks sharp as any. When the party moved in, he looked up when the party stepped into his sun. His speech had an exotic ring to it, common was obviously not his first language. "I don't know a whole lot, if you want a detailled history, talk to that man." The Anubian points at the robed man a few meters away. "He has been at the viscount's court for a long time. All I know is, is this. Macros has treated my people fairly, and I don't mean the Anubians, but the people that live in the deserts outside this city's walls. He knows that the Strivvians and the desertfolk need to depend on each other. They rely on us for food, and relations with the tribes deeper in the sands, and in turn we get protection and we get to trade in the city's markets. It's how it has been for a long time." Suddenly, the Anubian's tone lowers. "Maxis believes differently. He thinks Strivvi can do without us, and thinks us all thieves and freeloaders, and would keep the gates closed. So yes, Maxis is no friend of mine. Priest with the funny name, what troubling me is this city, almost fifteen years have passed since the viscount died, that there is no new ruler, is a travesty. Matters remain unresolved. For years, a village not three miles north from here is plagued by bandits, yet I can't get a small regiment of Strivvi's forces to deal with them, it's time this got settled. For better or worse."
  2. Can I ask why the identity of this Hades is not already out in the open?
  3. Maxis is red, Macros is blue.
  4. Guts takes a rest in his bedroll.
  5. They do kinda heal wounds and stuff, I'm just saying.
  6. Guts pulls back War and Bricks.
  7. I say we lynch Hades. I think it's possible both investigators tell the truth, and would not want to risk lynching one. And just pointing it out, Pigboy, the reference you are giving us is not entirely accurate, as that mostly refers to situations with much less people.
  8. "Look, I know you aren't the bravest, you have proven that sufficiently, but relax, I got this." Regardless, he first allows Mizuki to use her Magnifying Glass, and Guts takes a swig of Mead, Nostrum and Smelling Salts.
  9. Is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? Pyrophant? Just me? Now to find my elephant...
  10. Guts signals everyone to stand back to the other side of the room, and then pulls the books back one by one.
  11. I like people, Guts kills them daily. Deal with it.
  12. "Interesting... I think I'll borrow this..."
  13. "Outsiders and first time visitors of Strivvi at that, eh? Figured, people usually don't need to do that much discussion to figure out what political side they have chosen. Know you stand before the true ruler of Strivvi, Macros, and his brother, Maxis. Myself? I am Knossos, representative of the Trader's Guild here in town. There are no consequences related to this question, don't worry. I must ask that you follow all directions of the guards during your stay, keep those weapons sheathed and don't make any trouble. Enjoy your stay." The minotaur then turns to the man holding the sword and helmet, and says to him: "We should be off, you can argue with your brother in the palace every day of the week." The man then nods, and without saying anything else, he and the Minotaur head off to the right, the man the party identified as Macros, purposely bumping into his brother, who recatches his balance. An angry glare in the direction of the walking man later, he himself and the nervous man in pink head off in the other direction. Staying behind are the robed man in black, and the Anubian, the first looking in the window of the shop, the second just standing against a building. Purple leans in towards the party and says: "That was a bit more high profile than I would have liked. Have you made a decision on who gets the Keystone? Remember I can keep it safe if needed as well. If you don't want to talk to either of those gentlemen, tell me what you want to do next."
  14. Hmpf, the best we can do for Danr now is do what is said: follow up on the leads that his death brought. And there actuallt are leads, so that's good! Danr himself suspected Chief Mursi. The main reason from what I gotten from it was that he made a very sudden change when Danr was initially voted for, and also that Mursi was twisting Danr's words to make him more suspicious. Should we follow Danr's almost last words? I kinda think we should. We know Danr believed what he said, so that has to count for something, right? And if you look back at his post, Danr does make some good points, points that Mursi, to my idea, does not counter very well, as far as we can see (is there more missing? From the bard who wrote it all down and is writing it in an epic song along with awesome Lute solo's?) We also have Jormund, who was one of the evil-doers. I think, and correct me if I'm wrong, that all interaction between him and other people should be dissected. Cultists and the like have a tendency not to interact with their own a lot, and when they do do it, it's often things like agreeing or joking around. The main thing I got out of it was that he at one point explicitly agreed with Sveinn, he did have some interaction with others, but interaction that would more clear them than make me suspect them, at this point. Does that mean anything that he agreed with Sveinn, I don't know. Oh, and I don't really see a reason to assume other than that the one that killed Steinvoir was the evil one, and that the one that killed Jormund was a helpful one, unless you have tangible evidence to suspect otherwise?
  15. I don't THINK I'm referencing to what you think, but send me a PM.
  16. When the Armory got closer to the city, a small sailing boat, manned by men in blue uniforms, came next to the trading vessel, and directed her to a dock at one of the two small islands in front of the city. After docking there, the Heroes, 'Purple' and his colleagues got into a rowboat, and rowed themselves to the shore (Skrall took one oar, Atramor with the other, you can imagine it did not go all that smoothly). After they all got on shore, 'Purple' started talking: "Right, before I forget, I have the Keystone. Do you want me to give it to one of you, or do you want me to hang on to it. Whatever happens, we can NOT lose it..." 'Purple' then got interrupted, it seemed like there was some sort of argument going on just ahead. "Just what do you think you are doing here, armed and all!" "This is as much my place to walk as yours, brother. You notice this side of the street is addorned in blue, as soon the whole city will be. No assassination attempt can scare me. Send everyone, they will all fail. " "You think I send someone to kill you?! Don't be ridiculous, I will win this by diplomatic means, just wait. It is you who is armed!" "Before you stopped me I was on my way to the blacksmiths, that's why, and don't pretend you need that stick for walking, both of you." "Hah, and here it was me thinking you hated them with a passion and wanted them in chains, I haven't forgotten, brother." "Please, just calm down everyone, we can't afford a fight in the street in broad daylight!" "Stay out of this, this is not your place to talk." "I won't be cleaning up this mess." "Keep your lackeys in check, brother." "Hmpf, talking about lackeys, what's he doing in the city." "I am right here and can hear you, I go where I please to do trade." "He has as much right to conduct his business in the city as everyone else, just because he lives out there, he should stay there? Remember we get a large portion of Strivvi's food from just outside these walls, we would starve without them, remember that." "This squabbling is beneath you both, in three weeks is the next vote, let us pray a decision will be made then, finally." The last speaker then turns to the heroes, he says: "You, red or blue?" What will the party say? Updated Party: Putting here for frame of reference because the last one kinda got removed. 19. Soon. The next update to my quest is kinda a lot, and I was in the process of writing it when the forums went down, When I have the time, I'll update.
  20. Haha, the Forum has been offline for some time, and has just today come back online, unfortunately, all the posts from October 3 onwards are gone . Short story: You haven't missed anything, and even some of your own stuff might be missing.
  21. Hey ya'll, I'm still here, not going anywhere and ready to go. That's Snotra Carrotface for the ones I haven't had the pleasure of speaking yet.
  22. I'm missing a hundred odd gold, I'm pretty sure it was 107 gold. "Bloody spiders, when will they learn... What's a book about Abra doing among these books about Dastan..."
  23. At least that one had awesome one-liners from Arnold. "Let's... kick some ice!"
