  1. Guts intimidates the Werecroc: "I have a better idea, you give us the prisoner, and you will not die right now." As he spoke, Guts held up Lifestealer, slowly pointing it towards the Captain, before adding: "Por Favore."
  2. "He does look like him, but they're brothers. It doesn't matter which one it is, we can figure that out later, let's just deal with these clowns."
  3. Guts takes out Lifestealer and attempts to shatter the chain.
  4. Thanks guys, I had some fun writing it.
  5. Breakdown of Ether and Magic, by Edward the Black. Chapter One; Introduction Scholars, both magically gifted and scientifically trained alike, have been unable to determine what Ether actually is, but both groups agree that is all around us, and even inside of us. There are those that can manipulate the Ether inside of us, we commonly refer to those as Magic-Users. Some possess more inherent ether than others, and that often comes with a natural affinity for Magic, but even those with less talent, can be trained in the arts of magic. Some of the most powerful Mages known to the civilized world, did not display magical talent at young age. To succesfully use magic, one needs a point of focus. This is often a precious and cut gemstone, corresponding with the elements; Fire, Lightning (or Electricity, as Scientists call it), Air (or Wind), Ice, Water, Life (or Wood, I dislike this term because trees are only one spectrum of this type of Magic), Earth, Light and Darkness (or Shadow). A focus can also be a weapon, an inscribed scroll or even blood, an opponent or the magic users own body. Trying to produce magic without a focus will result in failure, or accidental use of the body, which often leads to terrible results. Some believe a Cleric's magic is something different entirely, but many others believe a Cleric uses the Gods or their believe in the Gods as their focus for manipulating the Ether. Continued use of magic will deplete the Ether in the body, which will eventually fall to such a level that the Magic-User will be unable to cast anymore. This Ether can be replenished in time, by resting, or by the consumption of what we call a Tonic. Tonic is highly concentrated Ether, and consuming it will restore parts of what the Magic-User had lost. There have not been found drawbacks to consuming Tonic, instead of resting, but a Magic-User should always be vigilant, for there are individuals that would sell inferior or non-working liquids as Tonic. A good test is to hold the Tonic by an open flame. If it is quality Tonic, the liquid should begin to boil almost instantly and turn a violet colour.
  6. Guts could make out some words, but not everything, the raider nodded at Nerwen's suggestion.
  7. Guts takes the fish, pours some deadly venom in each of them, then throws them, he then jumps onto the ship.
  8. When Heroica got it´s own subforum, everyone that had made a quest or another heroica related topic got one.
  9. Maybe you´ve been ordering a random girl around.
  10. Then that person becomes a superneutral! With access to both scum and masons, but the actual objective to kill everyone! That would be amazing.
  11. "Don´t call me that, Amandil. I will throw the fish, jump the distance, then put out the plank so you can safely walk across. Simple."
  12. "I´ll give you five gold for those fish, and your discretion."
  13. The raider raised an eyebrow, he wasn't sure if the Nord was serious.
  14. Perhaps he was holding back, but Maurice is still a man of the cloth, and one that genuinely strives to do good, without being an unreasonable fanatic.
  15. Guts actually had interaction with Maurice and Tarn (in 52 and 20 respectively), and he respects both of them(for the time being). Haldor he has met, and doesn't really know what to think about it. Ellaria would probably annoy Guts to no end.
  16. I've actually done as many quests as Cronk, both have 7 under the belt, plus the one we are on now, noting that 53 has gone on a lot longer. It doesn't really matter, I just didn't realize people were so close to becoming expert classes! And I'm actually like that too, just in a completely different timezone than you, hehe.
  17. Wow, the unlimited Quest party is levelling really fast, Docken only needs like 4 battles to be able to become an expert class... Good job guys, you are now overlevelled compared to everybody else. Huh, Cronk is even higher. How do people level so quickly.
  18. I am very lovely. Root Vegetables for Everyone! - I was very pleased by the outcome of the last Mafia Game, and what better way to celebrate than with Root Vegetables, I figured? From Pandora, I think.
  19. "I can make that jump."
  20. As they walked, Guts mumbled: "Why does a Chiman ship carry a Charissian name..."
  21. "Much appreciated. Let's go."
  22. Guts quickly drinks a Nostrum, a Smelling Salts and a Mead.
  23. Also, just so that it doesn't go unsaid, Guts would totally kick Eric's megablocks, Guts is completely immune to Eric's main weapon, which also takes away the benefit of his most powerful artifact, the Evasion Boots, since he would logically switch to his throwing weapons instead. Is it luck though, or just skill? I'd like to think it's skill.
  24. I'll leave it up to Zepher, since he seems to have to deal with them (and has dealt with them). Saves me the thinking hard about balance. And look at Eric and Guts and tell me again it's hard to roll AoE.
  25. I just checked and it did indeed say: renders the enemy incapable of dishing out free hits (when I made it). That's a bad idea. If a physical aoe Shield or just AoE weapon in general got hold of it you would have an incredibly easy battle. Three rounds no free hitsis still too much, I thought it was a stun thing, perhaps that's what it should be, a venom that applies a stun. Or: since it's a consumable, just don't make any more of them.
