  1. The thing is though, that upgrading weapons is basically useless, that's what this proves. Of course it seems my playstyle is rendered as bad, that's a personal thing and doesn't neccasarily merit change. That the whole weapon-upgrading thing is useless because of these drops, that does. And of course I can have multiple weapons, but tell me honestly, if you had Conspirator, would you really have a need for Lifestealer? In most cases not really. Now that WP does not affect gold making in any way for raiders as well, the best strategy would probably be to never buy WP upgrades, because you're going to get better weapons faster than you can upgrade, even with insane amounts of unbalanced goldmaking. I think it would be better if something happened to solve this. But whatev's. The best strategy for me would probably be to buy enough consumables to buff the rest of the party as well. At least gives me some practice for being an Alchemist (if I can, hopefully!). Also, I am attached to Lifestealer.
  2. Honestly, if I knew weapons this good would be popping op, I would not have upgraded Lifestealer this much and instead got by on drops. But I think, I am probably wrong, the other two 20+ weapons (Twin Broadswords and Skrall's sword) both had a downside, so their massive WP was balanced. And yes, although it would probably be a good idea to unmerge any gems in the weapon you want to merge into the other one.
  3. I propose something. Weapon Merging. Either as an item or as a service from the Marketplace. The reason is that in the current fight in Quest 58 there is a weapon that is almost as strong as Lifestealer (WP: 28, got up all the way from WP: 5, was for the long time the best weapon in the game, nothing really got close because of the speed it got upgraded), and has a better effect (In most cases I'll take Blindness over 3 health). What that means to me is that it's probably a better idea to wait for drops, upgrading equipment doesn't mean much in this case, if someone can easily get an as good weapon from a drop. I think upgrading equipment should still be viable. Here's the idea: You get a second weapon, which you can merge with the other weapon, given the effects (not the WP) from the other. This would cost the difference between WP's times a 100 (+100 base cost?). Possibly it should only be doable once. This would give more use out of upgrading and sticking to equipment. Because if I would get Conspirator (I would give it to Eric, honestly) I would have no use for Lifestealer anymore, and that makes me kind of miffed. I don't understand, if we stop him now, he won't heal for as long as we don't roll special damage again, and we have less chance of being hit with his dangerous special. If we wait, he will keep healing, we will have a chance later to stop him, but I don't see the benefit.
  4. "Nerwen, get a weapon to Hestia. Nemo, stop your brother from laughing." Guts uses a Smelling Salts on Hestia, then attacks Pizarro from the front row.
  5. I don't think this would be the last we've seen of Arthur, but it can lead nicely into a dramatic "Why won't you love me" scene.
  6. I thought about saying it, but then again, more guards = more loot.
  7. I always imagined Metasimians having feet, they aren't exactly gorillas, right?
  8. Just got mine as well! Thanks again, Copmike!
  9. "Hm, you're going to need new guards." Guts attacks Columbus, then Pizarro.
  10. Guts smirked at the Nord's words, the man was all talk, and little action. That big sword of his made him slow, as well. The raider wondered where he got his attitude from, he didn't seem to have anything to warrant it. Guts thought back at his time with the Hellpeak Clan, a people that did not even fear the Gods themselves, they fought with ferocity, great skill and yes, unbelievable strength for humans. He thought back how they defeated a gigantic Elder Dragon, that threatened not only them, but the entire region, sustaining heavy losses in the process. Guts had later learned a few nights later other Clans had ambushed the Hellpeak and wiped them out. Did that make them weak? The raider did not want to argue with the Norseman, he knew nothing, after all, when his people still wore bearskins and lived in caves when the Cities of the South were already thriving, but then again, the Norse still did those things. Guts shook his head at Nemo's words, he answered: "Perhaps you need new captains, those men we saw earlier look like they spend most of their time in their cabins. I wouldn't worry about gettting their respect, if it were up to me. In the eyes of the people, which is what matters, any successor is better than you, remember that. We met your daughter, I think she is capable of doing the job, and perhaps more importantly, she has a chance to make things better. When we go in, I'm going to try and make sure you don't kill each other, or someone else does. And don't think for a second I care about your family honour." With the last words said sharply, Guts took a Mead, a Smelling Salts and a Nostrum, and drew Lifestealer, holding it casually in his left hand. He would see who he'd turn his blade to. Either the Nord, or...
  11. It would be! If I ever get tired of Guts, I do hope he can become an NPC people can interact with.
  12. Choosing his words carefully, the Raider responded: "Have you considered retiring? The Bonapartes are hated, Nemo. For many people when they picture their worst enemy, it is you. I am not just talking about pirates, but traders and fishermen too. You remember what happened in the Hovels don't you? With you in charge, this will happen more and more, more strife, more people will get hurt. Including your family. Next time we won't be there, and you don't want to always live in fear of being attacked. I condemn Reno and his actions today, this is his way of changing things, and things are bad. Your ways don't work, not anymore. Be the better man, quit. Pass lead on to your daughter. We can get Reno locked away. Changes are going to happen, Nemo, I want them happen the right way. You can still make this right. But by staying in power, by reinforcing the tolls and keeping your refugee policies, this will keep happening."
  13. Neither of them would accept. Nor would Hestia, probably. Also, is essentially making another rival faction a good idea?
  14. Maybe Guts should just take power for himself!
  15. I (as you can see) chose Nemo, I suppose I can give my reasoning: Reno is dangerous, Guts believes there is a real chance he was the Jolly Roger, a dangerous pirate. Long time imprisonment and not even a ransom, come on! He throws away men easily, as you can see, and he was prepared to sell his brother into slavery. There's no telling what Reno would do with him ruling the Bonapartes, disarm the Bonaparte Fleet? Stop hunting down pirates? Admiral of the Bonapartes is arguably the most powerful position in Eubric, he could very easily endanger Eubric. On the other side, if Reno is taken/killed then any changes came from Reno's presence will likely be undone, and the Bonaparte will only raise taxes and sink more refugee ships. Also if word gets out that Reno/Jolly Roger was killed, there is the chance for pirates rallying, immediately after Reno's return to the Bonapartes and Jolly Roger's death, the pirates were in disarray and high ranking pirates possibly knew, if they find out the symbol of defiance to the Bonapartes is really gone, there might be trouble. With the Bonapartes fighting on the Northern seas too, this could turn out badly.
  16. Guts said to Nerwen: "I'm with Nemo." Quietly he added: "Although I am not fully convinced, if we side with Nemo, the Bonapartes will probably strike down even harder than they did before... It's your call, Nerwen." The raider peeked in the office. He said: "Should we give the man a weapon or something?"
  17. Strangely enough, Guts isn't on the list, all he knows about Arthur is that is: "That strange kid in the library that started a monologue for no reason."
  18. Guts gnashed his teeth, he was about to go on about how they did not owe them anything, he wasn't even the one that hired us or their target, not to mention this was the second time he had saved the man. But the Raider thought the better of it, instead he responded with a simple nod.
  19. Fighting someone that thinks it's a god or perceiving something as a god is not the same as actually fighting a god.
  20. Yes! This is an amazing idea.
  21. I'll be honest, at this point I don't care who's who and what happens to who or whatever, I just want this ship.
  22. "Doesn't really seem like something for you to give, it was m- ... us that dispatched of the Crocs. Throw in lifetime exemption from tolls and fees and a permanent docking place and you got a deal."
  23. Guts accepts the Armour, and replaces the Spiked Collar with it. Also in round 2 my gold wasn't updated.
  24. Cool find, Legonator! I made one too.
