  1. Hello Striker, enjoy your time here!
  2. Today I got my hands on a 6769! Yes, the LEGO Western Fort Legoredo! I bought it on a car boot/flea market (not sure how you call it in English) for 30 EUR. I'm happy with it, but there are some parts missing and without them I can't make the 4th module, and a little part of the third one. I'll order them soon enough, when the time is there. Oh, yes, and almost all the minifigures are missing... (:/) But I also got a bag of brown and useful bricks (two hollow tree stumps, some big barrels, proppelors (steampunk, anyone? and more random brown bricks) and an Indian tepee. So the extra bag makes up the missing pieces, I guess. ;D
  3. Yes, that was my display. And with pleasure.
  4. For the people that are interested, here are the pictures I have taken during the event. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=381132
  5. Harry Potter! Because the theme was awesome. It brought us so many usable and new, great pieces which can be used in several other themes (Town, ..., but especially the Castle fans use the theme as a source for parts). And don't forget the great minifigures, instant recognasible and with great accesoiries and outfits. Second in the run is Indiana Jones, the theme has nice sets and just as LEGO Harry Potter the figures are great.
  6. With pleasure and yes, that would be just perfect. My Powershot SX110, one of the Powershots that's going into a rather expensive direction, has also 1 cm focusing distance. I think it's the closest you can get.
  7. With the cheapest Canon Powershot models you will have a decent camera for a relatively low price. I can recommend those, but check if they have the macro function (shown with a flower on the button).
  8. I would love to see a detailed Dumbledore's office!
  9. Here you go:
  10. I will make one for you with the current parts.
  11. Heh, great little scene and also very funny!
  12. Well, this sucks. I don't really know why a kid would want to make plagiarism, but it sucks. I hate it. Using techniques of other isn't bad at all, it's just normal. But copying the whole creation, the whole picture? No thanks. I would kick them off LEGO's website, but it's normal they don't have everything under control. I mean, who would think a kid would copy someone's pictures and say it's them?! I think it's time for use to make use of those watermarkings.

    LEGO Hogwarts

Thanks for your comment, Sandy! I appreciate it that you took your time to think about which things that can be improved. About the buildings: I will surely add details like special hinge parts in tan, to add up the amount of details. I will use that on the building of the Great Hall. But I didn't feel like add them here, I did in the first place, but I didn't want to make something really big with lots of details out of the boathouse, because if so, I should dubble that up with the Great Hall and everything would become too big. About the dark tan tiles, I have considered that, but the Bricklink stores in which I ordered the parts didn't have those, and I didn't want to give up more money for something I wasn't sure I was going to like. But maybe I'll try it in the next part of my LEGO Hogwarts. I was going to use BURPs for rocks. I ordered those slopes to use as roofs, but when I thought of it and tried it out, it was going to become too big with those sloped roofs. So I had to think of something else the use them, because, well, I had ordered them. And then I used them as rocks, because I don't own that much BURPs. When I did a bit of the rocks with the slopes, I immediatly liked the style of it. So, it was a case of trying to use those slopes and I really like the style it gives. Yes, it isn't realistic, but... I like it. I will try to think of something to make it more bumpy and rock alike. More vegetation will be add, but most of my greenery went into my Adventurers display. You're right about the water, it does look like a patterned floor. A few years ago, far before Bricklink and Eurobricks, I got my hands a bag of those. And I dug them up for this project. It fits really well with the theme, I think. If I would have used normal blue; blergh. Normal blue doesn't look magical at all, but it's almost like this transparant dark blue gives a darker and mysterious feeling to it. Oh, and I wasn't the first to use this "technique", castlestrike666 from BeLUG uses the same water and I actually saw it from him. It fits so well, I think. I'm glad you like it! The courtyard isn't that impressive, it's only a half one. But a few months from here I hope to have the second part ready, and then there will be a whole courtyard, with hopefully a little fountain in the middle of it, and of course more greenery.

    LEGO Hogwarts

Thanks! Yes, it's a part of the lake. But it isn't based so much on the game anymore, it's based on different pictures of the castle, a bit of the game and a lot of my fantasy. More pictures after moderation: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=379097

The future is bright for this massive project. I have finished the first part! Now, I am really happy with it, but I would love to read your comments and thoughts.
  16. All I can say is that it looks much nicer on the box than it does as the set is built.
  17. Yes, indeed. Sorry for asking.
  18. So, this whole afternoon Eurobricks wasn't online. And I just was able to enter the website again, I noticed I was the only user online. And now the users are slowly comming online again, show the statistics. How come?
  19. Thanks! The Adventurers sets mustn't be broken down, they just scream to be displayed in an Adventurers world. And so that's my purpose, and it looks like it worked out well.
  20. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate that! The rug is indeed a little bit weird, but it helps to bring some color in it. And I ran out of tiles. The tap isn't a Belville piece, the grey one came in a City firefighters set, a little one with one car. And I also own two white ones, which came in Harry Potter sets. They aren't only a Belville thing, but it presume they also use it there.
  21. Veronica Mars owns. Really. So I would let it stay.
  22. A quick search through Bricklink brought me to your slope: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3039px10
  23. Together with my father I'm really getting interested in Adventurers. I already had a couple of sets of the great serie, but it wasn't something to write home about. My father began to buy a few sets, and we became interested, more and more. So most of the sets displayed are actually my father's. This display will stand on the LEGO event going on in Tielt the 25th and 26th. I would like to read your comments and tips, and can you spot the few things that don't fit in there, but they do go well with the theme? And we won't stop trying to get our hands on more Adventurers sets. The theme is great, so we will try to get more of them so they can be put on our display. Thanks for viewing!
  24. Yay, I've bought my first (new) Pirates sets today. And I'm pleased with them. I bought: 6192 Pirate Building Set (yeah, not really Pirate but I really wanted the figure) 8397 Pirate Survival (the figure is super!) 6239 Cannon Battle (haven't build it yet, but I expect it to be cool) And my dad got me, again, a few Adventurers sets: 5920 Island Racer 5921 Research Glider 5922 Dino Explorer
  25. This is my second entry for the Big Toy Hut LEGO Zombie Contest. There isn't a real story, I think it's pretty obvious. It's a kitchen, where a lovely housewife takes care of her zombiehusband. It includes a sink and an oven with an excractor hood. The chairs, as you may have noticed, are a design by the Brickshelf user mijasper. I would love to read your comments and thoughts about this creation!
