  1. Thanks for another great LEGO Harry Potter review! I really like this set and I hope I'll get it soon. It's one of the the HP sets I don't own yet. There are some nice parts, like the sign and Malfoy's torso. But I think that there could be a few more accesoires in this set, to make a little bit more appealing.

    LEGO Hogwarts

Hogwarts' Entrance (WIP); based on these great boars: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=51688 It's a shame LEGO doesn't make bigger fences, these don't look that good. But it works. Vacation has started, so I should make a lot of progress the next couple of months. But no. I've ran out of pieces for this project, and money for it. I've tried building other LEGO Harry Potter buildings, but it doesn't work out that good. So, let's hope I get my hands on new pieces for this project very soon.
  3. Very nice work, Guss! This ship resambles the one in the manga/anime very well. The details are awesome, such like the figurehead and and the cool shapes on the ship. The sail is very good, I like it. Are you also planning on making your own One Piece figures?
  4. Thanks! (: I use Photoshop CS3. But I guess Adobe Illustrator would do a better job, but I don't have that.
  5. Woah, congratulations. I think this is everybody's dreamjob on this forum. I sure hope you'll have fun!
  6. This is an awesome bag, I hope it'll fit my laptop. Then I would buy it for sure. But I'm afraid the size won't work out well, if you look at the description of the white messenger bag it says: Measures 32 x 32 x 10 cm... That isn't big at all. It'll be the same size I think, considering the same price. http://shop.lego.com/ByCategory/Leaf.aspx?cn=54&d=443 Not available in Belgium, though. ;(
  7. Like I said on Flickr, great creation. I like everything, the contrast is just great. A shame LEGO doesn't make pencils, a painter in the scene with a dark pink pencil would be a nice addition. And the yellowed white pieces give it something extra, I don't know what it is, but it makes a creation look better, somehow. In some cases. Nice job!
  8. I don't hate any piece or anything that comes in a LEGO set. Every piece has its own uses, just as stickers or <insert that tiresome argument> parts. What's not to like about LEGO? Sure, there are a few pieces that look weird and unusable, but sometimes you have to think outside the box to make use of some good pieces. And I like it very much when the building bags aren't numbered, man I would love to build that big Death Star. It gives me a great feeling to put my hands in thousands of pieces to find the right one. Sure, it's easier when it's numbered, but be honest, it takes away a bit of the fun.
  9. Vacation has started and one of my many intentions for this year is to build LEGO creations in a lot of different themes. So I'll start with some Steampunk creations to be contributed to the Steam Empire. I think I'll make an impulse set and a 5,99-set. So the evilside in the Steam Empire is the Empress with her robotical minions?
  10. What a fantastic creation! With two sides and everything. What I really love is the dark blue color, dark blue is awesome. I hadn't seen a dark blue building yet actually, I think. The details that you've brought are wonderfull and the statue is magnificent. Nice scene, also.
  11. We are situated in the near future. Viruses have reached a point at which they seem undestructable. But not only viruses have evolved, medical technology has developed a new way of fighting these evil intruders. Because normal medicines aren't effective, people have to make themselves smaller and defeat those new intruders by themselves. With a machine that makes them smaller they get into the body of a person who is ill. Those people are called the Body Miners. There are teams of miners who go into the body to catch viruses to investigate them at the lab, even try to find a cure for it. Other teams fight against the indestructable intruders, so they can't do any more harm to its host. LEGO Body Miners isn't only a LEGO action theme with a lot of playable features and vehicles, children will also learn about the human body and what the effects are of diseases and viruses. Possible sets in the LEGO Body Miners theme: - (impulse) Investigation Chopper: includes one Body Miners figure with vehicle: let the miner jump on his advanced bike to investigate the body. - (impulse) Virus Speeder: includes one Virus minifigure with vehicle: the virus spreads diseases with his personal airplane. - (small) Viruk Escape: includes a Body Miners figure witch vehicle and Viruk: don't let Viruk get away and let the miner catch him to investigate him at the lab. - (medium) Mobile Prisoner Transport: includes two Body Miners figures with vehicle and a virus figure: the miners patrol the body with their mobile prison to catch the viruses. - (medium) Investigation Driller: includes three Body Miners figures with vehicle: the Body Miners investigate the body with this mobile driller. - (large) Lung Pursuit: includes two Body Miners figure with vehicle and three virus with vehicles: the miners are trying to catch three new viruses with his bodycraft and pursuits them in the lungs. The virus try to get away with their speeder and a flying body truck. - (huge) Investigation Lab: includes five Body Miners figures and four viruses including Viruk: in their big laboratorium near the heart the Body Miners are investigating several new viruses. But when the alarm goes of it's time to get busy: Viruk and his compagnons have broken out of the prison! Capture them with the various vehicles in the garage of the lab and a great amount of accesoires. This set includes a big lab with computers to track the viruses and investigate the body, including lots of accesoires and high tech equipment, with different prisons for the viruses and various vehicles. This is Viruk, an evil and new virus. Body Miners must catch him so they can make a cure for it to destruct it. But everytime the Body Miners try to catch him, he gets away! Because of his popularity for getting away all the time, he is seen as the leader of the viruses. He's the most important bad guy of the theme. The decals used are all made by me, the head has an official LEGO hairpiece that I've painted. The dark green matches exactly LEGO's dark green. I have also painted the sword silver and black to have a weapen that goes with the character. It's also my first custom figure. Thanks for viewing.
  12. That's looking very good, Duke! I haven't read any of those books on which this White Tower is based, but I can say this is going to be very good. I like the interior so far, the porch and stairs look nice. But the thing that impresses be the most is the fantastic interior, you've done a great job on that. Those bookshelves are just awesome. Keep up the good work!
  13. Fast and good, just how I like my LEGO. You even made a suitable logo, cool. I like your figure, the decals are very good and prehistorical. As said on Flickr, the hair looks a bit weird to me, but I couldn't do it any better myself. Great job!
  14. If you make awesome custom figures and you post them in this board, the Minifig Customization Workshop, you can be "rewarded" with such an icon. It's to show people that that person is a good customizer. If you are hpbrickhead, like the link directs to in your profile, than I would post your figures for sure. I like them, those custom Harry Potter figures. And to stay ontopic; I have a good and fresh theme in my mind. Now it's hard to make a show: to work out the villain or the good guy. Hmm.
  15. Thanks for putting in my decals within the Harry Potter theme. However, I have deleted my other Bellatrix decals, because I found that easier. So the Bellatrix V.1 may be deleted. Thanks again!
  16. Well this is just fantastic, thanks Eurobricks and of course BrickForge! Just when I am showing interest in the whole LEGO Customization scene, there is a contest like this. It sure gives me a reason to go on with it. When I open a topic for my minifigure, may I post the design for it? So it's open for comments and suggestions. And then wait untill I am ready to make myself a print of it and show a picture of it in the same topic. Or do we have to show the actual figure from the start in our own topic?
  17. Great work! I love the building techniques you used, those corners of the house are nice. The gatehouse looks very impressive at the outside, you worked it out perfect. And you even put an interior in it, just fantastic. The details are also good.
  18. And here's the final decal; it should fit perfectly with your LEGO minifig!
  19. What a fantastic set! What a great amount of details and interesting building styles. A defenitily must-get set, although the Green Grocer is that also but I haven't got my hands on it yet. Really beautiful. LEGO is just spoiling is way to much this year, I hope there won't be so many fantastic sets next year...
  20. Thanks for the comments, I appreciate it! And I will do some more, but maybe it will be easier if I can base my decals on the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter game? Oh, well, it\'s just work out what\'s in my mind and we\'ll see about that. And I will start with the teachers, then. Oh, and I didn\'t wanted to add to much make-up. After all, it\'s LEGO. And I think her look and lips resamble the character pretty well. (: EDIT: I just saw on a regular computerscreen that the dress is way too dark, I haven\'t seen that on my laptop. You can\'t see anything of the lines that I\'ve put on. So I will adjust that for sure, I\'ll make it lighter! I\'ll make it dark bluish gray. EDIT3: third version is on its way. The torso will be totally black but the creases will be in dark bley. Yay!
  21. So, instead of learning the last couple of hours, I thought I'd go further make some decals for LEGO. It came in my mind that LEGO didn't make so many LEGO Harry Potter figures. And that's a shame, because there are so many great characters in the wizarding world of Harry Potter. And the decal index for Harry Potter isn't big at all. So with which one should I start? And one of the most interesting characters at the Dark Side of magic is... Bellatrix Lestrange, whose love for Voldemort can't be described. And I had made a purist figure of her some time ago (click here to see it), but it didn't resamble her quite well. I am becoming more and more interesting in the LEGO custom world, so here she is; Bellatrix Lestrange in LEGO figure. (Well, at least the decal of her. When have a good printer I'll make one for myself) Version 3: final version with matching LEGO colors Tips and comments would be welcome, I'd love to know what you think of my first LEGO minifigure decal!
  22. This is my first try on some decals, and I think it worked out fine. The round edges look a bit sharp-edged, but in the printed form it won't be recognised. Maybe it will look better if I ever get my hands on Adobe Illustrator instead Photoshop, but Photoshop works fine for me. So I've made the signs for the inns in Hogsmeade, a little village near Hogwarts in the Harry Potter series. The Three Broomsticks Based on the sign of the LEGO Harry Potter set: Quality Quidditch Supplies I've made the Three Broomsticks sign. I'm not sure if I will make use of this one... The Hog's Head Inn Based on this drawing I've made a Hog's Head sign. I think I like this one better than first design. I'll use this one when my Hog's Head Inn MOC is ready. Feel free to use for your Harry Potter or Castle creations! Tips and comments would be welcome.
  23. Yipppiee, cleaning! Nice comic, as always. And as you said: it isn't as funny as the older one, but I still like it.

    The Burrow

I totally think the same, Capt. Kirk! When there has been posted something negative about the club, all the staffmembers react on it, but when there has been posted a marvelous creations you only get some reactions by the few active forum members... If the staffmembe rs also reacted, I think you would have a bigger urge to go to a club event! And I formed the last sentences a bit weird, it doesn't matter indeed who gives the tips and comments. I have to say, Eurobricks members has given me more tips and critics than on any other forum. But when you go to an event they can explain exactly and show what they meant on the forum and you can adjust the MOC properly.

    The Burrow

Thanks! Capt. Kirk: it's rather quiet on the BeLUG forum. Well... Hm, but I see now that the nice clubdays make it up for that. But maybe it would be nicer to get more comments on the BeLUG forum also, because those people have more influence on you than on forums on which you don't know each other. brickzone: I was going to use different techniques, like SNOT, but I guessed a simple look works better for the Burrow. Glad you see that also! I started it with my imagination (using the information in the books: build on a stone house), and I also looked to a picture of the movie Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It can be seen as my "blueprint". (:
