Mitgardia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Nice looking build. In GoH free-builds have to have their own topic to officially count, so don't forget to do that Great to have you back! I've missed your snow scenes, hope you can get an entry into the MAC -
Nice wall design, the SNOT tiles give a neat effect Two things that I think could be improved: the wooden crenelations on top of the tower, if you had done a wooden roof with the crenelations I think it would look more fitting than just the crenelations being wood; the tan/dark tan 2x2 tiles between the crenelations on the normal wall don't really fit the color-scheme of the wall, I think bley/dark bley would look better. Overall and very good build, I like the little section of pond you included
-
One of my favorites from you yet! The overall shape/colors are very attractive and I like the inclusion of the sphere launcher
-
Closest decent sized city is Olean, New York (USA). Great idea to do a map of the members
-
Definitely a very tranquil scene I like the little dock and trees and the water is excellent
-
I like the round base and the tilted plates for grass look fantastic Excellent rockwork too
-
So glad to have you enter The construction section looks fantastic, I love how you left so many studs exposed there Nice scaffolding and crane too I also like the blocks of stone in the wagon and the snow. The finished sections look superb, the dark bley arch design is beautiful Great story as well Just don't forget to post a link to this thread in the MAC topic

Stunning layout It really amazes me how well the three sections mesh together and the detail throughout is staggering The castle and waterfall section are incredible and I love the mechanization of everything from the windmills to towers, wells, and horses

@Ecc: I took pictures of my first vignette yesterday and am building my second vignette today, so it won't be long before I post my candidate -
Thanks Ecc I was very pleased with how the crane came out, the only thing I didn't like about it was how large it was

Excellent build, I like how you kept a similar style to Helm's Deep, yet changed the layout entirely Excellent interiors and great fig posing in the battle scenes -

No surprise there, Zakon ruling Avalonia would definitely make things interesting... -
This is a truly stunning build The architectural detailing is magnificent, I especially like the SNOT dark bley accents on the smaller tower and the window frames and spire of the larger tower The landscape is tremendous as well, the rockwork looks very natural, your leg water technique works beautifully and the angles throughout add to the realistic feeling A tremendous build, well deserving of being front paged on Classic-Castle and blogged by TBB

It does need to be green and yellow, however you can build a brick built flag if you don't have yellow and green flags. Bkrosell posted a nice example a few posts back -
I agree with Legonardo, this is lovely Great SNOT rockwork and the waterfall is excellent Nice work adding more chairs as well

Nice fence and I like the pumpkins/carrots growing in the yard I think ZC was commenting on the size/shape of the building, in those ways it is rather similar to a tent, albeit in stone Making it larger (maybe two stories) and adding a few more complex architectural details: window frames, door frame, interior, gables, chimney, a non-rectangular, etc., even if you only did a few of those would make it look much more like a house. Check out some of the other GoH houses for examples. dG makes some of my favorite small scale (so they aren't too parts consuming ) medieval houses: His Albion pottery and weaver builds connected: They are plenty more to be found in the MOC index too

@RBC: Right now the Hand of Corruption is the only official enemy of Mitgardia. Read this thread to learn more: link -
Why haven't you used those cows before My favorite section is the building of the roof, it looks very realistic and is something you don't often see created in LEGO castle construction scenes The statue adds a nice touch as well; however, the head looks a little odd to me, great work on the sword though I like the lime green in the landscaping and the stream/waterfall. I think the rockwork could be improved, the top looks rather flat. Knowing your piece limitations I would suggest only having the rock outcropping extend across the left half of the build so you have pieces to make that section a bit taller/irregular at the top. Overall an excellent build

Glad to have you enter Wedge I like the stream, especially the rapids, and the old stone foundation looks appropriately run-down Excellent fig posing too
-
Nice recreation of the scene, I like the non-square base and the tree looks great
-
One of your best yet! I like the dark bley accents and the archer slits look great Excellent rockwork and tree; that bird design is very clever
-
Nice use of that scroll technique and I like the cabinet in the background The teapot and cup are also great details
-
Wow! The buildings look great and a ship makes the harbor much better Can't wait to see the finished layout
