this is a beautiful set--thanks for putting a link on the front page, I never would have found it in the forum. Love the buildings, love the minifigs, love the cows! ...and yes, that black-dressed woman is HOTT. Va-voom!
-
that's very nice...I've thought about incorporating my Hogwarts and Arkham sets together, but I certainly couldn't have done it as skillfully as you did. Great designs, great execution. I'm sending my Gotham City villains to you for safekeeping!

Ant Attack! (Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Diorama)
jedikermit replied to SirNadroj's topic in LEGO Licensed
I love it too--I'm surprised I didn't see it last May. The ants look much more realistic here than they did in the movie! -
Nice--that's a good solution for Ivy, and I love your Two-Face. He especially looks good in a fedora...I'll have to fix his suit the way you did it too. Great stuff!

I've been out of the loop for a few months... I love the look of the Flying Wing...I've been hoping LEGO would make one of those for us, and it's a good balance between being on-model and being affordable. That's a fun set. I hope there's real "propeller shredding action." But there probably won't be. And the Shanghai Chase is exactly what I wanted from that first part of Temple of Doom--Indy in his dinner jacket, Willie Scott and Short Round, and the two cars and the Shanghai Gangsters look nice too. It's been a while since I bought an Indiana Jones set--I'm excited for these to be coming out in 09.

The McDonald's nearest to me sold me one for $1.95. Which is only about 50 cents less than the Happy Meal would have been. Gah. In any case, I've got a four year old and six year old son, and for kids that age, these things are GREAT toys. My six year old has made the Batboat his number one favorite toy (with tiny launching Bat-ski), and my four year old loves the Batman, Robin, and Mr. Freeze figures. They're not LEGO, but they are fun toys. And the figures look just like the video game, and I'm impressed at how accurate the vehicles are to the LEGO models. Just...shrunken down and toy-i-fied. I love 'em.

Indiana Jones battle packs in the future?
jedikermit replied to Plutofish08's topic in LEGO Licensed
I don't think it would happen. But if it did, I'd be buying up the Germans and Russians like crazy. -
I love 'em...can't wait to see how you modify Poison Ivy and Two-Face in particular. I've done about 100 custom DC Comics customs (here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/14632327@N03/...57602339740490/ ) but I'm much less of a purist. I even mix yellows and fleshies! And paint! And cut them up! So it's nice to see your methods, keeping closer to what LEGO has actually put out. My favorite is probably Batgirl...although I do dig your Clark Kent, and I'm glad you included Aquaman. Oracle is one of my favoritest characters ever--I just don't like that face for her. It's perfect...except for the crazy eye shadow. Babs wouldn't wear that. Still, I'm glad you included her. Great job!

Like probably everyone else here, now that I've seen the designs of some of the characters in the video game--Commissioner Gordon, Batgirl, Clayface...I'm really impatient to get those characters as LEGO figures. So I'm hoping in 2009 we see a few more of those. Hopefully the Batman line is doing well enough--or LEGO has paid enough for the license that they're going to continue supporting it anyway. I'd still love to see a Police HQ (with Batsignal), Villain Hideout, Wayne Manor, and there are still dozens of Bat-vehicles that LEGO can either adapt or dream up on their own that would make me very happy. But if it's all just the same villains again, that's gonna get old for the AFOLs. give us a few new characters, and continue sprinkling in the ones that have already been released so the kids can find 'em.

Review: 7888 Batman - The Tumbler: Joker's Ice Cream Surprise
jedikermit replied to brickbitz's topic in LEGO Licensed
Nice review--I'm surprised these are out already. I'll probably end up passing on this one. Even with the surprise. :) -
A poll to decide a star wars set for february 2009
jedikermit replied to darkrebellion's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I voted for the Mon Calamari--Admiral Ackbar is one of the few OT characters that I still want in minifig form. -
Anyone got a Mutt hairpiece from Indy IV sets?
jedikermit replied to jp-30's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I like that much more for Han -- great idea! -
I like it a lot--especially the rooftop. I want to do some similar Gotham City facades for my heroes and villains to chill in. Can't wait to see what's next!

Loooooove it. Loving Futurama's a big part of it, but man they did a great job.

Very impressive work. I don't see TLC giving us a "Real" GCPD anytime soon, so this is a great inspiration for me. You worked in a load of details that are both playable and make sense for the characters and situations. And I love Luxor's Mad Hatter. Very nicely done.

I love those customs--those are all characters I want to get around to making myself. Congrats on a speedy, and more competent job than I'm going to do when I get around to it someday... :-$

I've only had it happen once--with the first B-Wing set, the box was sealed, but one bag of parts was missing. LEGO was very nice and very quick in replacing it--it was no problem.

That drives me nuts. I'm hitting TRU and Target on the way home from work today...we'll see what I end up with.

Lego finds in Consignment Shops!
jedikermit replied to Dadster's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I've made some great bulk finds at thrift stores too--around these parts, there seems to be a lot of Duplo. I've got two preschool boys, so that comes in handy sometimes. A lot of regular LEGO too, but rarely minifigs. -
In the US, TRU has much of their LEGO "buy two, get the third free" this week. It includes Indiana Jones and Castle and several other themes (not Star Wars or City), but I only collect IJ and Castle out of the themes that it listed. Target has their Star Wars LEGO on sale too--I think it's 20% off, and only certain sets, but worth checking out.
