  1. The Expert Class is for sure a maybe, depending on how well I've got it balanced by the time this is ready to be posted. I'd appreciate criticism on that, BTW. The plan is for each part of the Grail to be hidden on a different island with an elemental theme and guardian, so variety shouldn't be a problem, as we'll be going from deserts to jungles and volcanoes to frozen wastelands. The notice and XL reward are because this will be long and it will require thinking outside the box (and possibly even inside the chimney! ) during battle, and most importantly, it will be completely and totally brutal, so if you don't want to die repeatedly and possibly even lose the Quest due to battle, you shouldn't sign up. Thanks for the feedback, guys. EDIT: Oh, and how does he sound like the Shadeaux? Do you mean the over-the-top accent parodying Australians, Southerners, and more, or the concept, or what?
  2. You said I should pitch my idea as soon as it's fleshed out, which it is (I've got everything ready, i.e. stats & MOCs), but obviously this won't be posted for a while. Quest #??: The Centerpiece of my Collection Quest Master: Kadabra Assignment: 'Ello, mates, Ah'm the lieutenant of 'Is Majesty the Dragon Prince down 'ere in tha Archipelago of tha Elements, and some ijit down 'ere came in an' swiped 'is most prized artifact, the Elemental Grail, an split it inta ten parts - the gold chalie an' the nine purest gemstones ya ever did see. Ah've been put on tha case of trackin dem down, but as it turns out, there're some mighty vicious guardians protectin' each piece. I got my megabloks whooped and handed ta me on a silver platter by a gian' golem when Ah went after tha Flawless Garnet, so it looks like Ah'll need some 'elp from y'all 'Ero types for this 'un. Party Requirements: Ah'd prefer if this 'ere theft diddin get, ah, publicized, if ya know what Ah mean, as we wouldn't want'is Majesty to appear incapable of guardin' 'is 'oard, so just four 'eroes, please. Them guardian's are mighty tough, though, so Ah'd reckon the 'eroes oughta be of an experience level of at least twenny five. Reward: 2500 Gold to split, one gemstone of your choice each, and the option of becoming a Dragon Champion( -maybe) WARNING! This Quest will be long and difficult, and is for experienced players looking for a challenge. Expect to fall in battle at least once, and although failing the Quest in battle isn't likely, it should be considered a possibility and prepared for beforehand. No matter whether you succeed or fail, I'd like to think this will be a fun Quest and worthwhile XP- and loot-wise. -Kadabra So here's my pitch. Let me know what you think.
  3. Arasmyth, noticing the clamor around the Quest Board as he walks into the hall from his inn, swooshes over with a dramatic flip of his Elven robe and a boom of thunder. He quickly peruses the two new notices, then elegantly penned his name down on Quest #33, whilst spitting upon the note posted for Quest #34. "Isiris-damned alchemists." he muttered, "Can't even write properly."
  4. To get feedback and criticism. As you saw, my idea was ridiculously complex and OP, so by posting it here and getting an outside opinion, I can start working to make it better. Plus, as no one has seen Sandy's finalized classes, we can't finalize our own as we don't have anything to model it off of Scubacarrot's and my rough drafts are based on the Advanced Classes, so even if we got pretty, finalized pictures and a stat set that would seamlessly blend in with the other classes at this point, we'd still have to edit them once we saw how an official expert class worked.
  5. Like I said, very rough draft. It's a temporary change to appearance, not a permanent one, and the complicated-ness was something I disliked about it. I wanted to do a class based on recoil damage, which does more damage than any others at the cost of doing some of that damage back to yourself. The shields were included for the sake of not killing yourself, as heroes tend to have a vast Power compared to HP. Here's a quick revision. Thanks for the feedback! Dragon Champion HP Bonus: TBD Job Traits: Intimidate, Diplomacy, (Animal Talk - only if Expert Classes have 3, not 2, job traits) Equipment: Polearms, flails, shields Battle Style: Draconic Shield: Dragon Breath Select between Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Plant. Deal elemental damage equal to WPx3 + lvl, to all foes, then apply Burned (Foe takes 1 damage per turn and Level is halved), Bound, Stunned, or Badly Poisoned depending on element Critical Vicious Strike: Deal damage equal to WPx4 + lvl, then take 1/2 damage in recoil, which is affected by SP. (lvl 30 + WP 15x4 = 90 damage. The champion takes 45 -SP 10 (35) damage.) Vicious Strike: Deal damage equal to WPx2 +lvl, then take 1/2 damage in recoil, which is affected by SP. (lvl 30+WP 15x2= 60 damage. 30-SP 10 = 20 recoil damage.) Overshoot: Deal damage equal to WP only to the foe listed behind the target, then Stun the Champion. Defended Damage: Take damage equal to opponent's level minus SP Special Damage: Is struck by the foe's special skill
  6. Here's my own idea and blurrypic for an Expert Class: (WARNING! RIDICULOUSLY LARGE FOR SOME REASON! ) Dragon Champion Flavor text: Dragon Champions are humanoids who have been blessed by a dragon and granted some of their power, as well as a scaly appearance. They often serve as ambassadors to humanoid races, who feel far more comfortable among other bipeds, no matter how draconic, than even the smallest dragon. Others serve as personal Heroes for their patron dragon, and go out on Quests for them to retrieve rare treasures and artifacts for their hoards or serve as captains of the dragon's army of minions. It is an unspoken rule among Dragon Champions to always be in formal attire, even going so far as to wear suits or gowns under their armor in battle, as being representatives of a foreign race, they want to make a good impression. Health Bonus: +7 Equipment: Dragon Champions utilize long, heavy weapons such as spears, axes, scythes, war picks, hammers, flails, maces, etc. that give them the advantage of reach whilst defending with their shields. Job Traits: As ambassadors to the dragons, Champions are well versed in political intricacies and know when to be Intimidating, but also when more finesse is required in a Diplomatic situation. Battle Style: Draconic - Dragon Champions channel their inner reptile in battle and act as cold-blooded killers using the powers they've been granted. 1. SHIELD: Dragon's Blessing The Champion uses the special power he's been granted by his patron dragon. Upon becoming a Champion, the hero selects one power to use on a Shield roll. This may not be switched, even if the hero changes classes then returns to being a Champion. a. Fire Breath- Deal Fire damage equal to 3x WP to all foes b. Ice Breath- Deal Ice damage equal to 3x WP to all foes c. Lightning Breath- Deal Lightning damage equal to 3x WP to all foes d. Snake Eyes- Hex the foe for 3 turns e. Acid Spit- Badly Poison the target and Poison all other foes f. Sonic Roar- Stuns all foes 2. CRITICAL VICIOUS STRIKE: The Champion ravages the foe, using his long, serrated fangs as well as his weapon. WPx4 + lvl, and the Champion takes 1/2 of the damage given in recoil. Recoil is reduced by 1/2 of the Champion's SP. 3. VICIOUS STRIKE: The Champion strikes like a snake, delivering a fast, reckless blow while relying on his shield to defend from counterattacks. WPx2 + lvl, and the Champion takes 1/2 of the damage given in recoil. Recoil is reduced by 1/2 of the Champion's SP. 4. OVERSHOOT: The Champion misses his intended target, instead hitting the next enemy in the roster for WP only and Stuns himself 5. COUNTERED DEFENDED DAMAGE: The Champion takes damage equal to 2x the foe's level, minus his SP, then deals 1/4 of the damage back. 6. SPECIAL DAMAGE: The Champion receives the foe's Special skill. Obviously, this is a very rough draft, as I don't have any Expert Class examples to model it off of. This was originally going to be a one-off NPC class along the lines of Dream Sailor or Engineer modeled after the Advanced Classes for a Quest I'll pitch aimed at Level 25+ players once those become mor common (Speaking of which, Sandy, should I pitch that to you now or wait until there are more players that actually qualify for it and I have a good idea of a start date?), but the way the Quest is set up it would be a perfect reward, so I've done some quick modifications to make it more player accessible. Thoughts, feedback, criticism on its balance, etc. appreciated so it'll be optimal for playing when the time comes appreciated.
  7. Those are town guards? They look more like ninja.
  8. Oooh, shiny. Looks great!
  9. Well, The Customizer's defense is extremely lacking, and he's fishing around for our Vig's identity, so I'll hop on this bandwagon by voting for him. Vote: The_Customizer
  10. Obviously, in an attempt to defy stereotypes, the rumbling in a desert area is not signifying a giant sand worm, but is hinting at the fact that the hump in the ground is really an obese sand giants stomach and that the rumbles are his snoring.
  11. 1. Lost as Red Riding Hood (Townie Cop) in Sandy's A Bedtime Story mafia 2. Fully available 3. Qui-Gon Jinn, for his portrayal in Darths and Droids Looks great!
  12. I'd sign up in a blink of the eye.
  13. It's an alicorn (winged unicorn). Rumble, I am dissapoint that she's not named Princess Celestia. EDIT: Fixed Celestia from Celestial. I hate IPad autocorrect.
  14. Erm, B&P, Knights, with their Snields, are the ones who will be taking free hits the most. The shield absorbs damage, but the gloves give the knight to deal a free hit of their own, not reflect the free hit, so if Knifk sufficiently upgraded his shield, he could get to the point that the enemy's free hit is entirely defended (or does one damage, depending on the QM), and he deals damage equal to his Power, so free hits on him would be an asset to the party rather than an annoyance. The artifact was clearly designed with Knights in mind. Also, as he's unable to do so for himself, I have to defend my brother's loot for him!
  15. Is it just me, or is this a Luigi's Mansion reference? If it is, it's too bad you don't have an aeromancer (ahem! ) to suck up ghosts, as I'm fairly sure we don't have vacuum cleaners in Heroica!
  16. I'd like to play both if possible, and have no particular preferences as to which I'd wish to play more if I could only play one.
  17. Holy-! Fift steps to cross one room?! Just walk straight across the first plank, jump to the next, jump to the end! The gaps are only 2 studs or so! Your leg is that length! Jump, man, JUMP!
  18. Arasmyth sighed. 0 for three, and the fair Elven maiden he'd been conversing with had embarked upon one of the Quests that had left. It was far too long since he'd had a proper Elven conversation, the elves he'd met here in Eubric all seemed more human than Elven. He'd begun to doubt the purity of most of their lineage. "Cormamin niuve tenna' ta ellea lle au'," he whispered quietly, a farewell on his native tongue that expressed wistfulness and regret and being separated. He wasn't sure whether he was speaking of his homeland or Nerwen at tis point. Translation: My heart shall weep until it sees thee again. OOC: Yes, I've joined the dark side of color coded text. Arasmyth now speaks in #0000FF.
  19. @Xarzzan: Oh, wow, just realized how long he's been gone. Yeah, he got called out of country on a business trip and doesn't have Internet access. It was a last minute thing, so he didn't really have time to give a warning... Actually, I might recall him telling me to alert you guys and say to have Scubacarrot control his actions until he got back... Sorry about that, I totally forgot.
  20. 1. Passed (but lost) Sandy's A Bedtime Story mafia as the Town cop Red Riding Hood 2. I'm open the next 5 weeks, although I may be slightly less active Wednesdays 3. My favorite has to be Tamomono in Imhotep, that was hilarious. Although I'm not sure if this counts, I was also quite impressed with how Aladdin and his Scum buddies managed to manipulate the Town on Day 3 in Bedtime Story. He wasn't role claiming for himself, but he did manage to get some people suspicious about me by claiming I was scum role cop.
  21. I've got my own line-up as well. If Arasmyth dies, I'll start playing as a female dwarf cleric, if she dies, I'll play a male Dragonborn knight, if he dies, a Rockling rogue, if she dies, a Sharkling ranger, if he dies, a Orc herbomancer, if she dies, a naga cleric, the list goes on and on and on.
  22. Yup! I'm just weird like that.
