And as they escaped the asteroid field, the deadly Monkey I secretly followed them to Bespin, Banana City...

It's settled then. I'll get the Ultimate Lightsaber Duel, as well as the Darth Vader Transformation. Few people know that, actually, both sets are Mustafar-based. Anakin may have had his transformation elsewhere, however, the burnt-up Anakin Skywalker Fig really works. Plus, the medical droid and flipping horizontal table could be part of Mustafar if you're not very Canon. I think I'll display both of them on my desk and play with them for fun. It's not much of a build but... for Mustafar, actually, I think the design works quite well. Why doesn't anyone remember this scene? Vader and Kenobi are fighting when all of these magma rocks fall (they look up for a brief moment next to a pillar) and almost hit them. You can see that it's on a CIRCULAR platform, like in the set. Though the rest is pretty much innaccurate most of the scene is restored. I'm sure that there's some way to recreate it (seeing as it DOES come with a lava platform. Besides, despite having a pathetic 3 hours of battery (horrible, horrible lifespan... it's fun to hold em' down!) and it's likely that from being pressed so long due to the try me it's less than that... it looks like a fun set from one of my favourite scenes and my favourite level in Lego Star Wars. Plus, it adds a bit to each scene. You get a burnt Vader from the Transformation Set (30 bucks?! Outrageous but... ah well) for the Mustafar Battle, where you can have Obi looking down on the body and Ani just burning there- WHILE for the transformation set you can add it to the Mustafar Scene and make it part of the building despite being non Canon. Anyone like my idea?

...cause from what I can see, I'm a LUL Lover. I remember playing with em' at the store but not like some snoddy little brat, they're just so addicting to press. They're difficult to pose but can still be fun, and duels CAN be achieved (as well as poses). The battery will run out, but you just don't fall asleep all stoned still holding down on that head! I was thinking of getting Ultimate Lightsaber Duel: I was searching for it forever and could only find Wookiee Attack (which me being a patient set hunter at 11 in 2005 bought almost instantly), seeing as it had sold out everywhere. Mustafar WAS popular. Luminara looks cool as her figure too, as does Mace. There are five LUL figures in all and I was thinking... I may as well collect them all before it's too late, right? I fall for gimmicks like that, expensive as it might be. With the lightsaber duel and the other 3 Luls, it would be kind of like an Arena with 5 contenders. I've been meaning to collect these sets anyways... based on that excellent Tie Review released this week and by what people have been saying about past LULs. I'm sure I can get the sets I need to collect the LULS. I'll be getting the Lightsaber Duel for Christmas. It's expensive right now but not as hard to find as I would have thought. So, does anyone else like LULS and wants to join me in my quest for LUL collecting?!

Assuming both lots are from the same buyer, Ragnorak... I'd buy: -1 Clone BP MISB -7 Droid BP w/o droids -1 Hailfire Droid BP -1 Droid MTT Why not the Two Shock Troopers? I'd rather have a Clone Commander and additional trooper, PLUS a turret, PLUS a speeder bike, rather than just two figures from it for 5 bucks. If 2 BP's are 14.99, then they're 7.99 each. I'd pay the extra 3 dollars to get a Clone Vehicle and Turret, plus two additional troops. 5 bucks for two Shock Troopers sounds okay, but not at all when compared to 4 figs a turret and a speeder bike for 8 bucks. If they aren't from the same buyer though, forget about it. With so many pieces on the MTT, plus so many extras from the Droid BP's, along with the Hailfire Droid BP, you're set. You officially have every single kind of droid infantry unit available (I saw your Magnaguard review, nice): 22 Battle Droids, 2 Pilot Battle Droids, 2 Security Battle Droids, 1 Battle Droid Commander, 1 Super Battle Droid, 1 Destroyer Droid and 2 Magnaguard. Very cool collection of droids you've got there. It's much better than having loads of figure-less battle packs, seeing as the packs don't come with any noticable brown parts not counting the STAP (which you're planning on keeping together anyways). Also, even if you could be getting more STAP's just purchase them seperately or revisit the site and buy the BP's later. However, 7 STAP's would make a great squad- maybe with a Droid Commander on a STAP at the lead or something.

Yes, we could use some names.

Awesome, awesome MOC. Just look at the size of that, and straight from the animated series! Seriously, make some more Locations! The detail on this is pretty hard to duplicate, but I'd love to see some more of these.

Very, very good essay. Took what I was thinking and made it better, really got into detail and properly criticised and praised the Bionicle storyline. I too couldn't stand anything beyond 2006, more like 2005, even if I lived through them. Send that to Greg and hope for the best though, I doubt he'll have too much to say. But still, having a simpler storyline and something more Lego-Like would be cool. I remember all the times me and my friends (one had Lewa, one had Pohatu and I had Kopaka in Grade 2) had battles because... well, no reason. Having big storylines that are kind of anime-ish annoy the crap out of me. I don't mean anime-ish as in art but if you've ever seen one of those comics... it's just so complicated... not for Bionicle in my opinion. The Lost Island of Mata Nui was really cool, the villagers and all. Me and my friends followed the storyline to an extent as well, Mctoran were the villagers and rahi were giant stones. We also loved MNOLG, me with a serious passion.

Show Your Army, Navy, and Collection Display
Dovchenko replied to BillytheKid's topic in LEGO Star Wars
True, but I doubt the "waste of time and money" part thrilled him. I half agree with both of you. Building up armies may take lots of time and money that could be put to better things like tanks guns rockets etc., but you don't get much of an army buying sets, you have to get them some other way. -
Weird lot (3 Rogue Shadows w/o figs?) but I can see why you might want this for army building/MOC making/whatever. 20$ seems fair enough for shipping, go for it dude. EDIT: I have a question, too- after getting the three Hoth Sets (base, AT-AT and AT-ST), is there anything else left to buy? And my cousin is 9, maybe 10, and he wants the Turbo Tank, preferably w/o Mace. Does anyone know a good price, or something like that?

Nein! You rejected LUL. LUL's are awesome! Thanks for the review! I like the set a lot, Mace is only featured here. Great fig of him too, I like the grey Jedi Robes torso. Cody is great as with the other figs. The tank's probably a second favourite, next to the mighty AT-AT of course.

Really cool, the lights, guns and your amazing bubble cockpit are what really shine here. The blue and white is well mixed here too. A bit boxy, but that's how it's supposed to be, and it's a very practical and visually appealing little (or should I say large) vehicle. Great job mate!

Good move. I like this set but Mars Mission isn't for me. That dog sticker is kind of cool and funny, suits the vehicle like the dragon does the aerial transport. I also like the Drill, it looks like a load of technic pieces making a neat pattern. Is it effective? Like will it do much to a pile of bricks?

WHAT?! No smige? No taters either? What's taters, precious? LOTR is a no go. Fantasy's already out, and it heavily resembles Tolkien. Not that I wouldn't want it of course, but the best you can do is continue to buy fantasy. After all, it's really fun and cool for army building, and MOCing is entirely possible.

MOC: Small train station from set 4954 (model town house)
Dovchenko replied to Holodoc's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Something inside made me smirk at the Trekkie peering over from his drink, wondering why he can't just teleport his way to the movie premiere. Great MOC and ticket holder, like said before, cool ideas from you and your son. -

I nominate him too, he's made some pretty amazing weapons. I like them a lot, nice rockets and guns to support the... plastic troops. Right now, I'm in the shadows when it comes to Niche's. But wait just a couple of months, and I'll come out a LUL lover for all I know.

Anyhow, I think Dementors also could win by captivating not only some droids themselves, but their machines as well. The Hailfire Droid is a vehicle with a mind of its own, as is the Tri-Droid, Vulture Droid and Spider Droid. Any of these flying/walking by can be stopped in its tracks and either overloaded (some people mentioned that there could be electrical damage) or memory-wiped. Looks like your group of Vultures and Tri's are kamakazi-ing into your own base, and the Hailfires and Spiders are sieging their makers.

Basically my problem is that in your posts it kinda sounded like you were blaming Bonaparte for getting a little worked up. He's a good admin who isn't abusive of his powers, he's just trying to make his point. What, against me?

Bionicle went down in story in 2005. I liked 04', but not as much as Mata Nui. Still, one of Bionicle's last good story years. The Vahki had potential, but the Toa were fine and the Titans were top quality if you ask me. Ultimate Dume... my favourite model, ever built, for Bionicle. If I could be anyone... I'd be the lanky but super-powerful Ultimate Dume. Yeah baby.

Keel haul stays on hold... until we get about 100 of those awesome silver cutlasses.

Yeah, it's hard to find a good girl head when I need one. JP3 would be cool, I'd buy a set for that JP Jeep in a split second.
-
I got the Original JSF for Christmas, which I might buy and review. Wonderful set, the Obi in this one is really awesome and it's really just a great ship, sticker free. Probably my favourite, I'd fly it if any ship from Star Wars. Maybe I should get it and the Slave I from Episode II... after all, I like Jango despite having a crap story.

I really love this MOC, it's very nice looks complex and overall looks like a great model. However, I have to say that it's too thin. It needs some major bulk, especially around the supports (it shouldn't stop the mechanism at all). Also, where Batman leans forward could use a monitor or something. It's like he's staring at the wheel all the time that he's driving. But otherwise, it's perfect. Your next step could be to make it shoot out of the tumbler, that would be really cool.

Mystery Castle - Building Challenge VOTING
Dovchenko replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Trexxen, voted for all three. Why? Sure, his was smaller than everyone else but that was only due to a lack of bricks. And with the small bricks he had, he did a funny job. The two of them killing each other on top of the potato cart made me smirk, I imagine the dead body beneath the cart didn't feel very good about being crushed (and having the other two standing on top). The chef hanging the other was really funny. It was also interesting, simple but having a really plain backdrop (brown and tan cart) against 3 skeletons just looked good, caught your attention. I also like the skeleton at the bottom getting out of the taters and swiping at the chef with his massive halberd. Finally, I gave it best overall (not that any one of the other entries weren't professional whatsoever) seeing as... well, even with having so few bricks, at least he managed to enter and gave it what he could at the moment. Nice job to everyone, this was a very fun contest. Edit: WHOOPS. Got the entries mixed up. I guess I'll give Trexxen a vote and like I originally intended two for Zepher. I like Trexxen's because of the wall detail and simplicity, especially the cross designs.
