  1. I can tell you like Bionicle quite a bit and though I lost interest last year, I refuse to say discouraging things to other members. There's nothing worse than someone who makes a backhand comment and makes the person worry for a few months. Besides, the only reason I hate those two years is because I'm a true 2001-2002 fan... and the past two years have been far from that.
  2. Here's my thoughts that no one cares about. 2001-2002: Prime time Bionicle, Gears, MNOLG was amazing artwise, made me feel like I was in Bionicle Universe. Amazing but often overlooked sets, Rahi were great but did not sell. Toa sold, Mcdonalds ads worked, and all was good in the world. Bohrok came out, sold well. Va were a failure. Large sets good, did better than last year. Toa Nuva sell the best in this time period. Mask Packs very very popular. Amazing story told in online episodes. 2003: Not as prime time but somewhat pleasing nonetheless. Bohrok Kal failed miserably. Rahkshi were good and sold reasonably, though they became bargain bin buddies. Large sets sold very well in comparison, just as good as the Rahkshi. MNOLG 2 was an instant hit, but then failed shortly after due to tech errors. Game hated worldwide. New movie raised Bionicle awareness. Everyone pumped for rumours of a new place. Story failed. 2004: Fairly well advertised but worse than 2003. Vahki did not sell, failed and rammed their way into bargain bins. Toa sold reasonably. Disk Launcher packs failed. Matoran failed. Titans and special sets were instant hits, some of the best large sets of the year. A very nice story, for Bionicle, though not as great as the Technic/Bionicle years of 2001/2002. Online games were okay. Kanoka club an okay idea. Movie didn't make too much of a difference. 2005: Not well advertised. Worse than 2004 but not the worst year. Toa and Visorak sold reasonably. Rahaga failed. Titans very high quality yet again, sold reasonably. Stayed on LEGO shop for a long amount of time. Again, Movie didn't make too much of a difference. First year of mini-fig Bionicle, failed miserably. Reasonable story. 2006: Honestly, the best year. Piraka sold reasonably. Toa sold well. Matoran didn't sell well. Great if not perfect Titans. Good comics. Bionicle Heroes raises some awareness. Zamor Collectables fail. Best advertising and story, a great place with awesome online support. Large dragon set sold very well as a Target Exclusive. Fig-Bionicle failed again. Good story. 2007: Didn't participate much, but Matoran sold better than most years. At first Barraki sold, but then failed. Toa sold very well. Titans very high quality, little advertising and no movie to show. Minifig-Bionicle failed. Great story. 2008: Odd story but reasonable characters. Phantoka sold though the reuse of the basic body frame annoyed many. Matoran sold well. Mistika selling well, though hated by many. Titans sold, reintroduction of vehicles from 2001-2003. Good story. 2009: ???
  3. I live in Southern Canada and I have to say that surprisingly for TRU... it's like their retarded. And I mean it. For everything that comes out, they rush right away to get it out on shelves. Not early, not late. But after a day, it's all gone. Well apperantly, they don't restock. They buy it and put what they get on shelves... then that's it. If it's all been bought, it's all been bought. There's a whole wall of lonely Jan-Feb City Sets w/NO COASTGUARD, half Bionicle, 6 castle sets, 4 racer sets, a dozen Tiny Turbo's, a backwall with last year and early this year's SW (only the smaller sets), about a hundred Shark Mission sets for Agents, Two Vahki just sitting there, one Knights Kingdom, a few yester-yester year Technics and absolutely nothing else. Sounds like a lot, but it's very small and surrounded by Barbie. Online's nice but then you've got to pay shipping. It's easier, but you can't get it so often. UK isn't the only one suffering.
  4. Whoah that's nice! I especially love the front of the ship with the SNOT plating, and even if it looks pretty identical to 2006's A-Wing, it's only in colour- otherwise this looks like a much more detailed set and I like the yellow version. An excellent find. 300 posts!
  5. Thanks for the review! Two very nice sets, I like the fig and the ship's smooth sailing mechanism is very very nice. I'm not decided on what I should get though... Gunship's nice but I'm tired of overpricing. You guys in Europe get it bad but when America and Canada say EQUAL EXCHANGE RATES, there always seems to be an unsightly 100$ difference...
  6. Sweet ideas you've got here! Pre-Christ won't go well though not counting your Egyptian Mummies, that's like opening an Ecchi line for people like Sir Dano (I still don't get what it is?) or a strictly dragon line for Dragonator. But still, all of these could and should become themes in my eyes. Here's what I remember from when I was a kid: Ninjas. Indians. Extreme Team (w/ my first set!). Johnny Thunder. Insectoids. Rock Raiders . Knight's Kingdom. Bionicle. Crash Em' Racers. Harry Potter (heavily underrated). Star Wars (from the very beginning!) Town JR (if it wasn't so hated I'd buy that construction set, also if it was just generic town... . Unfortunately for todays standards... half of them fail or have yet to fail. Crash Em' Racers were... 5 pieces? but so fun, maybe a better, brick-built version with storylines? How about LEGO RACERS 3? Johnny Thunder? Indiana Jones is cool in all but I'm sure having both Johnny and Indy wouldn't matter if they were careful... But the REAL sets I reccomend and not babble on about... A remake of Space Port. Got the large shuttle for Christmas (we didn't have so much money so that was the biggie set) along with a few smaller ones. MISSION CONTROL NEEDS A REMAKE! No more Alien BS, just Space Exploration! Add in destruction features! Ship malfunctions! It break in half when you press buttons! I might rebuy Mission Control but most likely, I'll just rebuild it somehow and get the parts I need to finish it up (I need the main battery/stickers!) plus rebuild every single one of the small sets I own for Space Port.
  7. There's this really cool feel to your MOC here Majek. It's like an even grittier version of western and man do I like it. Keep up the great work, make more western MOC's and I'll be happy.
  8. This seems to be your strong point... making villages and scenes like a movie almost. I love the buildings and just the overall look of the town... rugged and small but a true society... I especially like the neat stories you've made for nearly every single fig here. Well done.
  9. Try contacting LEGO services, they'll be more than happy to compensate for the 8 bricks. Unless you're sure that they were never in the box, however, it's going to cost you. Head on over to www.lego.com and find the contacting service, they're friendly and ready to deal with any problems. And LUCKY TO GET THE MILLENNIUM FALCON!
  10. Too funny a line not to put in my sig. A wonderful ship, filled with many tricks and twists and turns, looks very formidable in battle and like... well, the crownies will defenitely have their hands full. The assault boat however I'm going to truthfully say I do not like. The idea's great, everything seems set well, but what was used to make your ideal design looks flimsy and pretty quickly built. Bulk up the assault boat and it'll be perfect, but still I'm going to give this a 10/10 MOC.
  11. Done maybe half of my vig. It's good if you ask me, glad I took Dragonator's advice and got building. My vig is more a "poking fun at" then an actual representation of Mystery Castle, but I'm sure it'll all end up well.
  12. Thank you for doing so much work, this looks pretty cool and will surely attract many more EBRPers.
  13. It's a Vote General Marcus/Batbrick for me. Sorry Batbrick. Damien senses a great doom sweeping across these lands... What? Isn't that I, the great Majiko's job? To sense oncoming disaster?! Heh. No, Damien thinks it sounds dramatic to say such things. You're getting more and more mysterious, Damien. I don't like the look or sound of you, so you'd better bug off... I caught you lurking around the place planting drugs under people's beds... and I have a hunch that you've only drugs under about HALF of the beds, Damien! Damien wonders... why do you hunch this? Because I believe you're either a loyalist trying to drug the traitors, or a traitor trying to drug the loyalists! Heh... funny of you, wizard. Damien thinks you should learn to keep your long, pointy, pustle-covered nose out of Damien's business, now, shouldn't you? I do not have a... out of your business? Sounds sinister, you wretched fiend! Heh heh heh.
  14. Oh god. Lucky Americans, poor Oceania/Europe. That's not fair! Can't help but resent the 100$ off for some very lucky people... Canadians would get it just as good as Americans if LEGO finally realized that the dollar is at par... then we wouldn't have to pay 29.99 CAN for a Hailfire Droid! On the plus side we get things cheaper when we buy in the US... if you live by the border like me.
  15. Never bought a battle pack but they're good in two worlds- they're cheap, easy to build and fun to buy/and they bring in loads of money for LEGO, encourages people to buy the larger sets. I'd ask for a Death Star BP... two Death Star Troopers, one Death Star Gunner (new torso/round helmet), and one Imperial Spy/Commander. The Spy would be a figure I'd have to get. Maybe as a normal Battle Pack it could come with a sort of mobile storage unit, or as a Super Battle Pack it could come with an Imperial Fast Frigate- slightly smaller than a Star Destroyer. Maybe the size of a normal 30$ ship but big enough to support at least 3 people. Like the Hailfire Droid set, it should come with something small to go with it... instead of a spider droid floating around in space, however... a Mini TIE Interceptor/Bomber/Defender/Droid Fighter. It shouldn't be able to fit the figs, more like the mini TIE Fighter coming out this year. It should be similar to Darth Vader's Tie Advanced but smaller...and that would make 30$. The Death Star is out of scale entirely of course, but if you ask me... that's what add's to its charm. Having an oversized Imperial Frigate waiting outside... along with a TIE... kind of a nice addition to an already perfect set. And I don't really think this topic should be closed... it's the only active one of the five BP topics after all!
  16. I'm going to be honest. Some of the figs in your WW showcase have been great, but some have been just figs from sets and honestly, much as you like it, it doesn't make too good an MOC. But still, I really like what you've done here and like the other figs you've made, these are just as vintagely cool as the last (made up a word ).
  17. How shall we brick off, oh lord? I don't know if I'll enter. Not that I'm quitting Mystery Castle, but I've got some EBRP'ing to do and I'm not very good at MOCing anyways. Don't take personal offence if my entry is a poor effort Ragnir and Dragonator.
  18. Where can I find the posting place again where you write the actual stories?
  19. 3 ye mean lad. I'm in.
  20. Aww Hinckley... Shoc's just implying that you deserve to relax/have a good time while he acts as a Mod for you. I think.
  21. Is anyone actually devoted to buying this chess set? I might, if I know I'm not the only person. It's a great looking chessboard and I sorta like Chess... losing all of the time or not. Either way, it'll be a fun build right? 299.99 is a lot for chess, and sure the piece count for the price could be somewhat better... but it looks to me like an instant hit/classic.
  22. No more of your great reviews? Why? A good review right here, got into the thick of the set without becoming boring with an absence of pictures or not having enough text. This looks like a good set and I'd better catch up with the rest of your reviews, ASAP!
  23. If you wanted more accurate answers you should give preferences but of course, there's nothing wrong with having a clean palette for opinions now is there? I'd get the Sandcrawler- the priciest and largest of the three, not to mention the fact that it comes with so many droids and figures to bolster your collection. Gonk droids are rare, the brickbuilt droids in the set are also only available here, and Owen Lars is only available here as well. Finally, it has great mechanisms and will be the first set to be pulled from Shop at Home. It's on sale now, the perfect time to buy it. The only downer is that it isn't an army builder, but these Sandcrawlers can be used for ANYTHING Tatooine-Based... Jawa collecting/droid collecting? Scenery? An objective?
