I just called my local TRU; they HAVE THEM! My mom's going to drop by there and pick some up; when she calls me and lets me know what they have I'll edit this post =D ~Trexxen Quick Edit - Haven't gotten them yet, but decided to let people know where I'm at - I'm in Knoxville. Person below me - Nashville, TN? Really? =D Real Edit - Shipwreck. Hideout. That is all. =D (They had Loot Island and Kraken Attackin, but I didn't want KA and LI had been reviewed - I only had $10 to spend, but I traded my allowance for the year to be the first on EB with the hideout =D)

Well why wouldn't they be? Lego has to make stuff way ahead of time, and they already had the CGI for the protos made by then - why rush to update it and waste time and money when most of the "target audience" won't even notice? =P ~Trexxen

Is this the item that you seek? If not, I'm mistaken and disregard this, but it's a bionicle mask from the very first wave, a Great Miru. It's not that hard to find, since it came in sets and box packages - I'm sure you can pick some up on the cheap! ~Trexxen [Edit: Sorry, didn't notice the other mask; a green Great Pakari - this.]

Heh, exactly - and it's a darn good plan, as I'm considering at least two, maybe even three! And then I will leave one intact and build more segments with the other two - and all will be grand! (Plus, with 3 extra epaulettes of each color to mess around with...>=D) Also, am I the only one who is saddened that the Shakos are printed? I'm thinking I might have to invest in some Brasso for this - I'd like it if some sets came with regular black ones, and the printed ones were for "special" troops, like riflemen etc. - but I'll probably keep about 5 printed for special troops myself, so...it all evens out! =P *waits for Shako price to fall dramatically* ~Trexxen

I play keyboard/piano/synthesizer (The same thing really, but in variations - acoustic or electronic, etc.), and I sing. I'm considering picking up Guitar or Bass, but I don't know...=P My playing is heavily influenced by modern Power Metal (and in many cases Progressive too - I can do a mean Tom Sawyer ^.~), Heavy Metal, and Classic Rock. This leads to a rather interesting style...When I learn to play songs I almost never attempt to learn the actual keyboard parts, as the guitar/bass parts are usually far more enjoyable, especially since it's technically not the same as what they play - it's a completely different instrument! =P Notable achievements? Sure...In order: -Learned the entire guitar part, sans solo, to "The Trooper" by Iron Maiden -Learned the synth solo in "Tom Sawyer" by Rush -Learned the guitar riff to "Snow (Hey Oh)" by Red Hot Chili Peppers -Learned the first half of "Arpeggios From Hell" by Yngwie Malmsteen (=P) -Learned the synth solo and guitar solo to "Feels Like The First Time" by Foreigner -Learned the first part of the opening solo to "The Cage" by Sonata Arctica (Easily the absolute hardest to play synth solo I've ever seen so far - holy CRAP. =P) -Finally, learned the basslines (in the same day, mind) to "Hysteria" by Muse and "Panic Attack" by Dream Theater. Yeah...uh...with that ego-inflation over, I'm pretty much done except for one more thing - I currently have an experimental power/prog/techno band in the works with some friends, though currently we're planning to split into two seperate bands with the same members...'twill be interesting, that's for sure! =P ~Trexxen

*passes out from excitement* So they ship...? I know what I'm getting for Christmas this year now =P - maybe if I split up the requests between the family members I can pick the whole line up ^.~ And Lego12, depends on how much you have - obviously the two highest in demand would be the ship and fort, but I'd also like to see either the soldier impulse or the cannon battle. Actually, let me know if the impulse sets are there - that's a big deal to me. ~Trexxen

Well, I had to think about posting this for a while, but here goes... So, yeah. We all know about that big "thing" that happened a little while ago. Some of us are happy, some not so much, but that isn't the point I'm trying to make here - and though I can't stop you (but the staff can), I'd like to ask that you don't discuss said thing here as it's against the rules and would probably hurt my cause. So, simply put: I think that the community forum (or the Media forum, not sure which it'd fall under) should have a new subforum for "serious news", stuff that is usually looked down upon as being too likely to start a flame war. Firstly, the EB rule on said serious topics: Now, obviously you'd think that that makes any argument I have invalid, and of course this is purely up to the staff anyways - I'm just making a case for it. But, I believe that with the community we've established here, we're ready to "test the waters", so to speak. What do I mean? 1. Start a new subforum. This will be the ONLY place on EB such topics can be talked about. Simple, and doesn't pollute the other forums - but what about new members that would pollute it with flame wars, etc.? 2. Create restrictions. Normally a simple rule like the BST forums would suffice - get X posts to gain access. In this case, however, two drawbacks appear to that - honest people that don't have time to post much (such as me, actually), and people that have a lot of posts but aren't "ready" for such discussion. I propose something different entirely: A forum that only members of a certain, "hidden" (in that it creates no visible differences) group that is run by "silent choice", that is, the admins/mods/person in charge of the forum decides who to let in and when. Then again, that also creates a problem of some people going unnoticed, so unlike staff, titles, tags, or other "symbols of power", you CAN request to be let in. Then that person will look at your recent posts and decide if they are indicative of a person who is mature enough to be in such discussions or not. 3. Finally, make the rules less lax in that subforum. Flaming's bad normally, but if you flame in a political setting it can be disastrous. Simply put, "chamber" the individual and then keep him/her out of the subforum until they have completely redeemed themselves. I think I've said enough for now, but if anyone wants me to clarify on anything I'm fine with it. I would add a poll, but I'm not sure if I should or not - I only currently have pollmaking rights because I'm in the Reviewer's Academy, so... ~Trexxen

*looks at your sig* Subtle, very subtle...=P I'm not happy per se, I'm that mood that can only be described as "I woke up fifteen minutes ago and haven't had any form of caffeine". So...yeah...I do want an energy drink right now, but once I'm fully awake I assume I'll be happy - though sadly not for the same reasons as the Lieutenant. Chemistry lab today + us recently learning about violent reactions = ...^.^ ~Trexxen

Sure! I'm open to questions any time; just shoot them when you're ready! ~Trexxen

They were in him, of course. Tren Krom's reason for existing was to keep the universe going while Mata Nui was being made - so he's pretty much a "mini-Mata-Nui" with a lot more tentacles and an outside influence rather than inside. So, while the GBs finished the shell of Mata Nui, the life was sustained by old Trenny. ~Trexxen

I deserve to win because, unlike many people here who are passionate about the line, I myself have never had the chance to own a Pirate set. I reached "lego age" just as Pirates were going out of style, and even at that golden age (of 4) I couldn't because my parents were more interested in buying me the bulk bricks than the sets, and so I couldn't experience them. Today I save my money for Pirate sets, but it's a slow process - I don't have a job yet, though not for a lack of trying. Pirate sets to me truly are the pinnacle of lego - they had everything that made a lego set great, and everything that made a Pirate toy great. The only thing I could daresay they were missing was a striped Marlin, but that's forgivable... Truly one of Lego's greatest achievements. ~Trexxen

Bara means Pressure, roughly (I think it may actually be Baro...). Magna means great. Of course, this is all going with the "new words = latin" thing, which of course makes since - dead people can't sue over a dead language - but it's really a great throwback to the fans to keep the "Great" in every name, if in a different form. But...Great Pressure? O_o ~Trexxen

Power Miners: New Sets for 2009
Trexxen replied to cartoondude's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I'm loving the new crystals...and I'll have to buy at least a couple sets for some more dynamite (there's one in the imperial fort in Pirates 09 too =D). By the way, I ran those comments from the Dutch ambassador through Babelfish; and then I tried to make sense of them, here's what I got (Points I find important have a (!) in them) : The stone monsters are "nature monsters", minifig-sized monsters made partly of stone (Dark Bley) and TransBlue, TransGreen, TransRed, and TransOrange (and according to me there are more (!) ) that all have a crystal. (The mouths open; the crystals fit in.) The monsters and colors seem to be elementary; that is, red for fire, blue for water, and so on (!). The monsters have Dark Bley arms that fit in minifig arm sockets, and vice versa (!). Of course, the human characters must steal their crystals. Correspondance to the real life shameless use of resources and endangerment of non-human life, as in Mars Mission, is purely coincidental. For the monsters to be complete, the opening mouth (similar to the hinge on a catchpenny barge [uh...what?]) is done with articulation similar to "feign hinges" (! - anyone know what this is?). Unfortunately, this does not mean that feign hinges return; they were stopped because they became loose over time. In the monster this is a little different, since the usual position of the head is closed; thus their ability to use these articulations here. Uh...so what's a feign hinge? [NOTE: I make no claims to the accuracy of this translation; but it seems reasonable. I really think that the "according to me there are more" should be "I think there are more", but it seemed reasonable that he would say that if he KNEW there were more =P] ~Trexxen -
LEGO SAH Weekly Phone Specials (U.S.) 10/22-10/28
Trexxen replied to Badsneaker's topic in General LEGO Discussion
If I remember to I'll do it next week...might get depressed about not being able to get the deals, but... Oh, and I wholeheartedly endorse $10 Rescue Tanks. Everyone should buy one as soon as possible. =P ~Trexxen -
It's got to be the community. This site, I can say without a doubt, has easily the best community of any I've ever seen, let alone been a part of. From the Mafia games, which are oodles of fun (^.~), to the community section, and even spreading out into the wacky MOCs - this site isn't afraid to stop taking itself seriously now and then. I can't stand sites that are strict about what you talk about and what you don't; I've left a few simply due to tyrannical practices from the administration - and no, I won't name any, sorry - the staff here is different. While on other sites the staff pretty much exist solely to punish members, here the admins get into the discussion with the members and are usually some of the - for lack of a better term - coolest people on the boards. Three cheers to Eurobricks! ~Trexxen

Mwehehe...I do a very realistic "It's for the best" act, don't I? =P Now I can't wait for the endgame reveal...but I guess I can hang out here until then ~Trexxen

Heh - I wish I had a job; then I could make such claims =P Buying a huge bricklink order when "near-broke"...wish I could do that; for me "near-broke" is about ten cents. =P Anywho, not technically what I bought, but my little brother got the Police Helicopter and...uh...the red $10 racer, the one with a fire ramp...not sure on the name. I did pick up some good sets from the phone special, though; the Hybrid Rescue Tank and Assault Tiger at 1/3 their normal price, and a Dwarve's Mine Defender just because I want one <_< ~Trexxen
-
Thanks to the phone specials at Shop @ Home...(Sadly they didn't have Bullet Run; otherwise I'd have it too!) In order of what I paid, from highest to lowest: -Dwarve's Mine Defender -Hybrid Rescue Tank -Assault Tiger Total order, with shipping, came out to $32.something - a great deal for some hopefully great sets! =D ~Trexxen

Happy Birthday Hinckley! Hopefully today or tomorrow I can find some good way to use your fig in a MOC - but until then, may your day be full of bricks and other goodness! ~Trexxen

Normally has black Mutt hair, but since I'm also in a pirate mood, and the torso is sort of appropriate...=P Also I just love Shakos. =P ~Trexxen
