Charles, I trust Miguel far more than Martinus - Miguel has done nothing for me to suspect him; Martinus is probably my most suspected person at this point after thinking about it. And for the record, assuming that the good priest WAS the person who tortured me, and he isn't, how would the witches know that already? Hmm? Vote Martinus/Pickerel. Sorry my friend, but you've gotta do what you've gotta do. So how will we be executing the witches, anyways, Fernando? Will we burn them at the stake? Boil them? Hang them? Have them drawn and quartered? Sautee them in white wine and serve them with country ham and rolls - err, what? Sorry, I blinked out again...been doing that a lot lately since last night...my head hurts. ~Bernard

To be honest both "sides" make little sense anymore. Why do we pledge to a single party and then follow them blindly? What is the reasoning behind limiting your options? Independence is what the nation was founded on, so I'm an independent! =P But that's getting a bit off topic, though I too would like to know what non-americans REALLY think of us, it's not on the subject here. English is one of the most understood languages over the developed world (Along with, if I recall correctly, French, German, Chinese, and Spanish), and most nations with a major economy will have English speaking residents. On top of that, Lego products are, if I recall correctly, FOR THE MOST PART done primarily in English; and this is a Lego site, so a bit of 2 and 2 makes 4 gives us the conclusion that most of the Lego fanbase at least knows SOME English. =P ~Trexxen

You're right, my friend, of course - but I mean I'm tired. I got no sleep last night - just look at me! I'm a mess...I really do need to lie down or something. *sigh* Once was a day when someone could take your word for something...now you have to be tortured for it to mean anything... ~Bernard

Psst, Hinckley - that post in the thread was meant to be a "OOC in character" thing - I just woke up an hour or two ago, and hadn't eaten lunch when I posted that XD ISC, it'll be sad to see you go - you played great and it's always a joy to be in a game with you. Take care! And Zepher; no worries and don't stop! Your character is a noble, right? Nobles are stuck up! They're better than everyone else! You were just getting in character, and some of us reacted in character - I'm sure it's safe to say that nobody was ACTUALLY offended by that! =P ~Kyle...no...Trekk...no...Bernard!

The difference in US and EU cash desks - A MOC
Trexxen replied to DarthPineapple's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Haha, pure gold! It's, as someone already said, like a political comic in Lego! While the state in the US isn't nearly as good as it used to be, yes, at one point in this very year it was pretty much like that. Actually, I've contemplated an idea for a while...but I don't know about it, since it would either take a lot of investment from me (a bricklink store means I'd have to buy the inventory first, with no guarantee it would sell), or a lot of risk (If I get the money first then can't find the set...)...but... I'd like to at least see some other American, if not myself, buy sets and then sell them at US prices - for many, even with shipping it'd be a much cheaper alternative, and the person doesn't lose any money...As I've said, I've contemplated it, but give me a break - I can't even drive yet! Anywho, since that's only half of what this topic's about...the vignette is excellently done, and though I don't think I've ever seen a cubic lego box (Perhaps there's a Bionicle in there or something?), it's very realistic - and though as Hinckley said even Americans can't buy that much anymore, it's pretty darn realistic! =P Also, on a note, what are the values on those coins? It'd be even more hilarious if the US person paid with a single 10 while the UK had three 40s...=P ~Trexxen -
...Yep, figured that. From now on I'm going to just stop talking before lunch. ~Bernard

Sounds like Charles is sleeping in the stables tonight... Alexander, let me start by saying that I do not suspect you any more than I suspect most - I suspect nearly everyone at this point because we do not know who is a witch, how many people are witches, and why a witch would even come to our quaint little town, let alone many - but one thing you are doing, and have done repeatedly, is asserting a major suspicion towards Charles. So let me ask you, kind priest - Why, my friend, do you not vote for him? Is it because you don't really believe in your suspicions and want attention? Is it because you see Charles as a friend, or even a partner in crime? (Again - no major suspicions) Or is it because you know he isn't a witch because you are, and you know that casting the first stone would jeopardize your own safety? Let me emphasize that I think you are no more a witch than, say, Isabella - but these actions are confusing me, and - *sigh* - I want an explanation. So, fair priest, perhaps you could indulge me a little? Which is it - why is your tongue sharper than your sword? You are so quick to talk, but you refuse to take action! And Charles, don't think you're off the hook either - right now the person I'm mostly looking at is Sergio - no hard feelings, Sergio; at least I can spell your name - but you're just as suspicious as everyone else. ~Bernard (OOC: Sorry Hinckley, but I have to say it - this is the fourth post in the row where I wrote "Kyle" on accident instead of Bernard...I've also done that with "Trekk" a couple of times. The games are just blending in! XD)

Cthulhu! Of course, there's lots of runner-ups - Fenrir, Nessie, Aliens, Hinckley, Demons...but that's got to be my favorite. =D ~Trexxen

I agree with Sergio, for once - Charles, Alexander, this mindless bickering must end! Charles, Alexander is a good priest, and I stick by him. Without him, the town by now would be a brooding ground for demons, witches, and all sorts of other hellions. Nontheless, Alexander, Charles...well, I still stand by everything I said in my last speech about him; right down to the "I wouldn't vote for him right now" part. We don't need our town divided because of the two of you! Think clearly! Ahem...anyways. Martinus, it seems you have multiple sources connecting you to the crime...but here's a thought. How do we know for sure that the attacker was bald? Could they not have stretched a black cloth over their head, or shrouded themselves in foul magic? And lastly, to all who wish for me to reveal my midnight assailant - are you barking mad?! Consider the facts, here. This person obviously has a powerful ability. One so powerful, it could change the game of life as we know it! The ability to get information! If I reveal him, surely the witches would make him the next target - and if any guard tried to stop them, I fear for their safety, too. I shall not reveal a man with a powerful ability and a pro-town role in this village - it would be counterproductive to everything we have tried to do to begin with! Give him a few more days to investigate - say, on day 4 or 5 if we haven't exterminated the witches, then I will tell you - if someone hasn't blabbed about it first. ~Bernard

OOC RANT HERE - SKIP IF UNWANTED =P kay Hinkley, I remved all the ""s and ""s frm my keybard, but nw I an't type like a nrmal persn! =P Anywho, in all seriousness, I find that the OOC doesn't really bother me - but it COULD be done in a more tasteful manner. Take this post for instance, made by a random person that doesn't exist in a space mafia that didn't happen: "Why should I be the killer? Yes, my character has a raygun - we ALL have rayguns! We're all part of the Star Corps! (OOC: We ARE part of the Star Corps, right? And come to think of it, if we're a military faction at all, where's everyone else's gun?) Maybe YOU'RE the killer, Sir Finklestein!" That could be EASILY put into normal game text. And for less easy things, such as blatant references to other games, the "man behind the man", etc. - this is EUROBRICKS people! The entire spirit of this site is humor applied to the little bricks we love so very much - why not break the 4th wall a bit? Like, say, the painters in the Mystery Castle used to explain how everyone can see the pictures. Sure, it detracts from the realism, but I'm not expecting to step into a time machine back to Ye Olde Britaine when I'm playing the game - I'm playing it for fun, maybe some laughs, but certainly not historical accuracy! (While it is good, something tells me old 17th century (or so) churches weren't made of ABS, as well made as they are...=P The "tl;dr" version: OOC is fine, labeling it as such isn't - slip it into normal conversation! =P END OOC RANT Besides that, though, I have to compliment you, Tiny Pius (some names never go away...), on your AMAZING MOCs. At first I thought some of them may have been just backdrops - surely a church looking that good on the outside couldn't have an amazing interior - but no, instead your MOC manages to look beautiful inside and out, with amazing techniques every step of the way! I do hope you'll do a Draggy-esque post afterwards showing all the beautiful details of the models! ~Trexxen

Firstly, to anyone else who would dig through their collections to find it, there is no Dark Blue 2x3 plate - I checked, and unless it isn't inventoried on Peeron...If it DOES exist I probably have it =P That being said, I'm shooting off a PM now. ~Trexxen

It appears the injuries are getting to my head; I meant to say Mustafa rather than Alexander. Sorry! Anywho, yes, Cassandra - that would be grand! I'll have a slice of pie too - it smells lovely! So, let's look at the facts... Firstly, let me say that as I did yesterday, I believe that the Inquisitor is indeed what he seems, rather than what some of us believe him to be. He wouldn't bother stirring up our town if he were a witch, would he? That would make no sense... Secondly, Charles. Yes, he goes off hunches and grudges too quickly; yes, he's one of the few that would be able to use parchment; yes, he's sometimes arrogant, pompous, self-centered, egotistical, and a right royal pain in the megabloks sometimes, but I don't think we should vote for him - yet, anyways. We need solid evidence! Thirdly, last night's stuff. We know that the witches have access to muskets - I haven't laid eyes on one of those since my days in the German militia - and, combined with their supposed "magical abilities", this makes them a heavy threat. From the paintings, not much is known about the killer except that they dressed completely in black. The people arrived in a fairly normal manner - save for myself, of course - no real clues there. However, it IS worth mentioning that Martinus and Miguel both arrived at the same time as I - but they have no visible reason to be late. Perhaps we should start there? And should anyone doubt me, here's proof that I couldn't have been the killer tonight that WOULDN'T reveal who investigated me. Why would I be covered in bruises and scorch marks if I were the person in the church? There were no fires lit from what I can see in the pictures, and it seems that the killer made a clean escape - in order to get these kinds of injuries, there would have to be a scuffle. Whew... ~Bernard

*I limp to a seat and, with the help of a few others, sit down* Thank you, my friends. *I cough a bit* Ack...yes, Alexander is right on the spot. I was indeed investigated by a torturer...'tis cruel irony, for I am the descendant of a man who used that ability to save his castle...ahem, where was I? Yes, I was investigated - and, for the sake of the town, I am choosing not to reveal who did it. Yes, it is sickening and cruel, and it really stings when you roll over at night; but it does affirm my faith in one person among us. Since my role is now known to at least one person, no sense in hiding it - I am merely a loyal merchant. I don't do anything at night, I don't own a gun, axe, broom, parchment, or anything. If I'm lying, then the person who knows my role would surely start a vote, now wouldn't he? ~Bernard
-
>_> So your greatest secret...is that you aren't a dork? Wow, must lead a pretty uneventful life there... Also, I just noticed - the laughing head is awesome. In more ways than one. =P ~Trexxen
-
Sigh...I wish I could be of more help to you all, but I was out and about at the time, and didn't see any of the purchases. Let's look at the facts: -The only three people we are certain shopped there are Sabrina, John, and Cassandra. (I Scream Clone, Darth_Legois, and Bob the Construction Man.) -Mustafa must have SOME dealings with someone on the wrong side of God to have acquired said items, be it unknowingly or not. As a merchant who has the unfortunate position to stare at him all day, I understand that sometimes you never even see who you get your goods from - but really, you're not THAT different, I mean, a broomstick? Parchment with odd writing and a wand on it? REALLY? -The only one of this group that would REALLY be motivated is poor Cassandra. Making an honest living to barely support herself with the pies, perhaps she'd like to be on top for once? (*snicker*) I highly doubt it would be her, but in these troublesome times... Make of this information what you will; hopefully someone can figure out who to vote for before the night is over. ~Bernard

So, I read DiD 4. Is is just me, or is Takadox seriously contending with Teridax for the most evil Bionicle villian? -Backstabbed the Barraki -Backstabbed the OOMN group -And now is leading three Toa Mahri to a (likely from his point of view, unlikely from ours) untimely death... What a jerk =P Anywho, the ebon person couldn't be a 09 set unless they feel like releasing a special edition black and smoke Strakk. Not that that wouldn't be the coolest thing ever, but...unlikely. =P I say it's just some OOMN member, probably one of the others that "made" the Atlas. Don't forget, though, it could easily be an early 09 combiner...Tuma + Skrall + Atakus, maybe? <_< ~Trexxen

Just a question - mainly to KimT and I Scream Clone - why should we have to CHOOSE which blacksmith shop when, so long as they fit the guidelines, we can have them all? Larger medieval castles could literally house a small village; surely some fair competition would come into play here? Also, if we end up getting the castle together for an event (now there's something to do! =D), the bigger, the more impressive! Of course, we'd also need inner modules, a keep, a moat, a *continues babbling on for a few minutes when he is hit in the head by a brick* Ahem. Anywho, what I'm saying is, why don't we use more than one - that way we don't have to have a vote and the castle looks that much more impressive. =D ~Trexxen

Charles, why would you think that the inquisitor, one sent to remove the witches from this town, would actually be a witch? How does that even make sense? I hope you snap out of it soon, otherwise...well, we don't have many leads... Henry, I agree; pointing the finger early is never a good idea...however, in these most desperate of times, where every night could spell doom, we have to do something. To lynch without evidence and kill a witch is infinitely better than to lynch with overwhelming evidence only to find we have killed a normal person, isn't it? Cristopher, you seem to know a lot about how the witches work. I always assumed they work at night because that is when we sleep, and thusly are off guard...how do you know their power increases at night? Have you perhaps dabbled in their arts yourself? I would not condemn you for knowledge, but of practice, there is no redemption... And Fernando, why would we use any rope at all? Would we not just burn them at the cross? Or if you really like I could go medieval on their big behind; and by that I mean beat the snot of them with this rock I found...*holds up rock easily the size of a small boulder* ~Bernard

You just woke up? But you were at the meeting before even the priest was! Surely you weren't asleep in the meeting, were you? Or are you possessed? ...Forgive me, these troubled times have me on edge. I came here a year ago seeking refuge; I had served out my term as a soldier in Germany - and a darn fine one, at that - and came here for the more simple life of mercantilism. I don't even care about the lowered sales this has given me; for I am among friends here and I wish to do anything I can to see these foul beings taken care of... Inquisitor Fernando, during your stay here my goods are free to you. I will do anything I can to assist you in your duties... ~Bernard

OOC: ...Just because I'm fat doesn't mean I'm a they! =P I guess I'll have to make use of your head in a MOC or two...(thanks Exobuildermart!) XD And hey, watch it. I'm a nice guy, but you insult my doggy and I'll show you just why I was a german warrior before I moved here! *puts an orange from his cart on his bicep, flexes it quickly - the orange flies up ten feet in the air* And yes, my other "puppy" would like to meet your "pussy cat" if you'd like that, of course... ~Bernard -
