And mine from my WIP? Self Promotion ON! X-D

This is really nice! |-/ I'd been thinking of doing some form of cannibalism scene meself... I would have personally made it smaller, but then I noticed the light feature and so I guess that limits it... I would also say that the Islanders are rather motionless and plain; perhaps some more "actiony" faces would make it a little better... Uh...no. They were the arms of the LOM aliens. These ones are from Centauri, me thinks ;-) I like :-D I don't know how he got them to stick though... X-O

It is well worth getting! It's as big as the others and although clunky in places, it's really cheap (I've seen them go for

I simply love this ship! *wub* I might have to borrow that pipe design ;-) Will you be making sails for it now that you've lost? I would have recommended some smoke coming out of the chimney though :'-) And, of course, the stunning (if lucky) photomography... *wub* SylOwl

43a Well, here's my entry, as B. suggested. It came about as I wanted to defend my title |-/ but didn't have the right part, so I cheated improvised X-O Not too successfully, mind you ;-) So you want to be a pirate, eh matey? Ye've come te the right place! Each time a man escapes from jail, a cruel slave-master or a nagging wife and thinks of setting out to sea, El Bacalao gives him a call. Since 1645, this ship has prowled the Windward passage, selling its Piratical wares to new recruits to the brethren. A Pirate has lost his sword? No problem, El Bacalao comes sailing into Tortuga and for a shiny 20 coin, it can be his. What's this? An Imperial is deserting in Port Royal? Harr harr! A Bicorn hat 'll do ye fine - we'll make a cap'n out o' ye yet, laddy buck! Narr, it can't be! Captain Roger has lost his Parrot in Kingston! A king's ransom in gold it'll cost ye there! Lucky fer you, El Bacalao is just around the corner, laden with piratical merchandise. Although normally confined to the Caribbean, this ship has been seen to stalk ships sailing out of eBay, in order to make scurvy dogs out of the underarmed and underclothed sailors that man the dusty ol' ships! I give you El Bacalao, Piratical suppliers since 1645! A fine ship 'tis - a single sail enough to outrun the Imperials scum! The lookout, a deserter from the East India company, keeps his eye on the horizon for potential customers, whilst the cap'n models the latest fashion to the world. A tiller is enough to steer this fine ship, with ropes securing the bottom corners of the sail, allowing it to rapidly unfurl to flee angry customers. Oh aye, we sell it all to any takers, even those Islanders - a fair few monkey's they've had from us. We don't quite know why they keep running out... Such disrespect to our produce! Lookee there! Maps, telescopes, hooks, peglegs, hats, compasses, rum - and ye wonder where they get it all? And who's that at the helm? ;-) Pests are not tolerated on board this ship - pet rats belong strictly to the castle and HP folk! A fine figurehead, almost lifelike... And our hull. Ye can see more of how our fine shipwright built it here I hope ye enjoy this fine ship! SylOwl

What about Classic factions? Perhaps a little more guidance would be helpful, such as looks/functionality/most historically accurate/scale/most TLC... ;-)

SlyOwl is purely me! Apart from some wierd Japanese gambling websites... 8-

Nice! I've never seen decals/graphics on the side of the legs before *y* How did you stick the gear sticks on? I noticed someone on MOCpages called you a copycat :-| um...any ideas why?
-
If someone with a lot of sigfigs could do a stop motion animation for it that would be hilarious! :-P See? X-D

You seem to love everybody *sweet* ...Good Hinkie! *y*

:'-( You're a nasty whacker! :'-(
-
But wouldn't a subforum be rather empty if it was just for reviews? You'd have few posts and few topics...but then again, every now and again a review thread pops up again, so it is a thought... ;-) And me! :'-(

I've continued with my swapping of the floors and now have begun the furnishing. It seems to be some sort of wonder emporium, displaying curiosities from around the world, such as tikis and stuffed witch doctors... :-D Suggestions wanted for this! What else shall I add? Cuckoo! *wacko* No... I'm running rather low on hooks and peglegs and have no idea how to make a minifig-scale eyepatch; it would seem rather similar to El Bacalao, no? ;-) Pictures soon!

Yeah...right *wacko* If LOP was to get it, it would actually be a demotion *sing* Yeesh! Stop it! X-D Hey, I'm still Pirate King *sweet* -
The Tusken Raider torsos are very useful... ;-) Wow! You remember the official English name, not Rudo X-D
-
Or just a plain Animals contest - build any animal, real or mythical, to around minifig scale. This could bring out lots of unusual entries, such as in Micahberger's style... ;-)

Ask an admin nicely...I had Jipay recommended to me...

Welcome! *sweet* Imperial Guards or Soldiers? ;-)

Using these jumper plates or 1x1 plates inbetween the plates can be used to maintain a smooth effect whilst securing them. If you are using true snot technique, remplacing a brick with a technic brick and using a 1.25 technic pin will create a stud on top too. Or he might have used bluetack X-D

Custom Brickarms Flintlock Musket and Pistol?
SlyOwl replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
I found this on BS; it looks like two hands fused together; a version of this would be great: *sweet* -
Nice! *y* Some people have way too mch Lego! :-$ I like how you had the boats "sinking" or being weighed down in the water *y* I'd assume using a technic brick and pin... ;-)

The road goes ever on and on down from the door where it began... :'-) And I thought you never slept - you always seem to be online *wacko* We shall see...I had some classic British toilet humour in mind, but it depends how the building turns out... ;-) Gracias! Pero no he veo algun de tus maquetas asi no puedo contestar con el frase mismo... 8-| Oh, aye! I wanted a little input from you all before I finished it, so everyone would like X-D Well said sah! I've now swapped the floors over, as it were; the right hand building now has a stone floor (I don't have enough brown :'-( ) and the other is now a condensed soup kitchen. This means the left hand building is now done and I think the right hand one will become some type of wonder emporium, with all sorts of foreign objects for sale, like Islander masks and weird stuffed things... Any more ideas anyone? *sweet* Brawl is good! :-D I'll think about it, but I've used all my angry faces up and the shop I'll be going to doesn't have any |-/ Since when has my name been Sly? :-/

Hey! Here's my current WIP, a very snotty Nassau port MOC. It isn't quite finished, but I need some suggestions for filling in blank patches, so I can order the parts I need from one BL store ;-) Front view: Apologies for the dark patches - I need to get another desk lamp for my photomography :-$ All oddities will be explained in the finished thing ;-) e.g. the baguette on the floor... The sharky bit: I need to get that black slope in blue, but I think the rest is done for this part... The left-hand building: Thatch technique! It was quite hard to cross the gaps between the plates as hands don't naturally fit there, but with some jamming and some balancing it worked out alright (I think! X-D ). Yes, the captain's face is a custom; Flex's face without the headset and cleanly shaven with metal polish :-P The manhole: Someone's dropeed his hat, but it's a good thing he's got his friends! Custom face again. ;-) The lower room of the left-hand building: I've done a standard bedroom upstairs, but I need an idea for the downstairs... Pub? Inn? Shop? Something else? The right hand building: The ground floor is done, but I'm wondering how far to extend the next one and whether to add in another on top of that to counter the steep roof's effect... *wacko* The kitchen: Distasters all around! But someone's got eyes for the cook... :-D ...That guy's arm needs adjusting |-/ The second floor: Yes, that is the beginnings of a toilet ;-) I need some more ideas up here, but preferably not for the window X-O And a cannon I made for it; I consulted Col. Whipstick and he said that it shouldn't really matter that the era was slightly wrong, but now I can't seem to find a place to put it 8-| So the problems I want solving are: -What shall I do with the downstairs room in the left hand building? -What can I put in the second floor on the right hand building? -Shall I add in a 3rd floor? Or something else, like a crane... -Any other problems you can see... *y* Therefore, all criticisms are welcome! *sweet*

Which would you buy - The Caribbean Clipper or Red Beard Runner?
SlyOwl replied to Big T's topic in LEGO Pirates
It looks a little to me like you're looking for any kind of ship; in this case, I wouldn't recommend the CC as it can be very expensive, as it is a collectors item and also quite rare, as Imperial Soldier collectors snap these up. These can reach nearly
