It was in the Lego Club Magazine issue before last, in an Indy comic. Whilst it is official TLC, given that the magazine is free, it shouldn't do them any harm to show it here...

Hey look "A long time ago in a galaxy far far away..." Watch me Block-Block! Actually I am working on a pirate MOC at the moment, but it's not too conventional...
-
It could have benefited from a fully darkened room and a slightly more shameful approach to bluetack , but I liked it so much that I couldn't resist - CGI background by Mister Phes. More... You got a link to that? That would go great to the music from Chariots of Fire I would think...
-
I'd suggest using either a 4x4 or 3x3 dish with a cone/minifig head/1x1 cylinder with a gear stick base on top... In yellow or tan or maybe brown... Pero no piensas que es demasiado grande?

Very nice! Reminds me of a dingy restaurant on a polluted street Although I'm confused as to why the street is tiled, but the roof-balcony-thing isn't? Katakana It says "bi-fu": beef. However, the "bi" only has one dash above it - it should have 2. Japanese is very hard to convert into Lego letters, but this is a great attempt at making it look good whilst readable! I'm not surprised he didn't attempt gyuuniku

~VBBN~ and ricecracker: Will you please resize your images to approximately 800x600 for the next category. I've resized them for you this time, but I may start docking votes. Well, Town/City, Agents (shouldn't really be in there) and Fabuland are the only themes on EB which generally get MOCed in; if someone wants to start a Clikits Revolution, then so be it, but until then, it's a Sissy theme (to me)...The "popular" themes just get thrown in with the rest. What do you expect from EB? I've deleted it now - I didn't really expect anyone to vote for him, except out of sympathy... Those 2 people who did vote for him - well...did they really deserve their vote?

I ordered this on Tuesday last week, and it arrived today (Monday), so 6 days shipping from Germany isn't bad to the UK. The postage was a little steep, but it's quite a heavy catalogue. Anyway, onto the product. It comes in a thick cardboard box, without any excess packing (bubblewrap e.t.c), which is about 30 cm long: It comes with an invoice, and the catalogue is wrapped in cellophane. Although the pages have yellow edges, the page backgrounds are actually white. Its dimensions are 21cm x 15cm x 3cm (in case you wanted to know ). Overall it has exactly 800 pages. N.B. It is a catalogue - think Yellow Pages. The back - all the writing throughout the book is in both English and German. There are a few errors in the English (not sure about the German) - for example, "Toys'R'Us exklusive Set", which is meant to be English It has a few pages of introduction about Lego (I've only photographed English). Sorry for poor photo badly corrected - it's too fat to fit in my scanner And a brief history of the Lego logo (only half shown here) Every entry follows a set layout. I think the "rarity bar" is calculated by how rare it was at the time - the Skull's Eye Schooner 6286 (very rare now) is only ranked at 3 yellow bricks... The entries are arranged in years, and then by set number. The first entry - and the last...(no Agents though) Annoyingly, there are a fair amount of "missing images", although these are generally 3-piece Bionicle give-aways, so it shouldn't really concern anyone. A "random" page - At the back, there is an extensive index of keyrings/keychains... ...To please Gylman...(rubbed beak on parrot though?) And an extensive index of service packs ...and an index of every set number, year, and page reference It's quite expensive for what you get, but it's worth it, even if there are boring pictures of brick buckets and Bionicles and Spongebob But to have an easy reference of every set is well worth the cost. Americans - wait until they get a cheaper exporter - it cost nearly half the price of the catalogue to simply ship it across the channel. They only ship to Europe...

The hair and torso colour are the same, granted, but I've never seen dungarees with the straps crossing over on the back before, so I thought it might possibly be the Admiral. Anyway, it confirms that at least 2 "new" figures have printing on the back, which means that TLC will be going down a very nice road... That is, assuming that the harbour worker is not a custom: if he is real, then the Pirates are real, IMHO, and there doesn't seem to be much debate about the harbour fig's authenticity... Naw, they'd have to get Fat Tony's permission for that

Voting begins... Rules And remember the points allocation: --1st place -> 6 points --2nd place -> 4 points --3rd place -> 3 points --4th place -> 2 points --5th place -> 1 point Currently the scores stand at: --SirNadroj -> 6 points --ricecracker -> 4 points --Exobuilder -> 3 points --~VBBN~ -> 3 points --Wilhelm Screamer -> 2.5 points (although he was joint 3rd place in voting, he missed the deadline, so loses 0.5 points) Note to all contestants: You may create threads for your MOCs now ) And the entries... (please look at all before voting ) SirNadroj: Bar of the Future It's even scummier than Mos Eisely. And in honour to our great host, there is even a "SlyOwl" technique hidden in there. See the puke? ~VBBN~: Car Gas Production Plant Oh dear, this isn't what I hoped, but I kinda have to go on vacation, so let's proceed with the MOC... (Sorry forgot to resize..) So anyway, this is the new way to make gas for cars. First, old metals and rubbers are sorted at the factory. Main: The rubbers are put through a high degree furnace, and it filters the rubber gas(air) into pressurised tanks. A vapor turns it into a liquid. This is then placed at pumps around the world, brought by the tankers, which get the gas from the back of the station. Rubber tire view: (Sorry about the PS2 games. I have to sell them on Ebay...) The metals are melted, remolded, and lifted by a crane. They then go down a ramp on the back for trucks. Sorry about the MOC not being too good. Next time I am shooting for something....SNOT! ricecracker: Robot Dancing Club Busted The well known club, The Golden Robot, was raided by space police forces tonight. apparently the the small cage in the back was used for storing humans, who then had their human horns cut off and sold (futarama anyone? ). Ironically, as the police were entering, there was a sale of a fresh one going on right then. 6 aliens/robots were arrested. five were employees, while one was the customer. charges range from attempted murder to buying and selling exotic animal parts. Gallery Wilhelm Screamer: 50's Robot of Doom It rampages through the citys and levels your homes! Guard your children! For the "50's robot of DOOM!" is coming to kill you! The monstrosity flies with a jet pack and burns down fields with it's massive flamethrower! "DIE puny human!" (creator's note: I choose to leave the flash on because I thought it makes the whole thing look significantly more EVIL.) Gallery Exobuilder: Failed to meet deadline And I have sent all the contestants the following PM: Rules So far I've got entries from... SirNadroj (of course ) ~VBBN~ ricecracker Wilhelm Screamer

Could this figure - circled - have the same torso as the Admiral (printing on back)? From the same photostream as the larger above image found by IS- clicky

I love it! The figurehead and cannons are great. I also like the 1x2x3 slope and 1x2x3 inverted slope next to each other as a way of easing out the corner You're also getting very good with photoshop (or whatever it is you use) Only a few small nicks - -No rigging/ratlines on rear mast? -The ladder looks a little odd -I'm not too big a fan of rails made from plates - I prefer tiles or a more intricate method (e.g. bars + skeleton legs) Yay for antigravity!

Curses. I always imagined it would be me to discover the first evidence for a new Pirate line The Admiral doesn't excite me too much, although it seems a little strange that they might be going for human vs human violence, which they generally try to veer away from (Castle)... Also note red-based torso, not white-based. The Pirate is more interesting; the torso looks great, although I'm not too sure about a bicorn on a standard Pirate. I think the Agents head gives it a touch of authenticity - if a store was just using old pirates in a display, then I would think that they wouldn't be bothered with a very new head. Given TLC's tendency to recycle heads in batches (e.g. Vikings ones were recycled into Castle, City/Town ones get a 2/3 year run-out), I think that it's likely that a new Pirate line would have heads from Agents, Castle and possible some new ones... What sort? He looks fine to me just as he is. Epaulettes also restrict arm movement! EB is often the first site to get "news", so why should this make a difference? But given the extension of the Torso Library, that's hardly surprising Last time that was used, it was to predict the end of civilisation as we know it Which would imply that they're aware of how quickly rumours spread online, and - possibly - Classic-Pirates, which surely can't be a bad thing? Noting two Classic-Castle threads on this - 1 2

3 days left, Mr Wilhelm and Mr Exobuilder...and voters... Next time I'll do this, but it really shouldn't make too much of a difference - names are used in all the other contest votings... Well put - it's about skill, not parts. Not a grass-roots one, but Hinckley has a more advanced one here They're all fine - richtig, correcto, (j'ne compre pas francais), choudo!

This really belongs in the decal request list, but here's a version with the red from the colour chart:
-
I'm not aware of those names, but, given that the below are all the Fabuland birds, and that 4D and 4E are crows and that 10C is a parrot, we can assume that yes, 4F can represent both an Albatross and a Seagull
-
What's a Wall.E? Anyway, by comparing it to others on TBB, I think it's a very good representation. However, it looks a little wide in comparison to the others; this could be rectified using MicahBerger's hand technique - - changing the 1x1 brick with 5 studs to yellow, with 2 yellow hands in the holes and then 2 bley hands attached to these. The neck also looks a little stubby, from what I've seen - a gearstick into the binoculars, with the ball buried into the 1x1 brick might work better... It's also a shame that technic t-pieces only come in grey Although he doesn't gain anything from it

All replies are suddenly "branching tree" variety?

Don't worry - it happened to me just now. I was googling "Flying Pirate Ship" and Mr Tiber's Hinckley's one came up. I clicked on the image, closed the resulting frame, to give the EB thread, and I'd switched to linear Things to come? Maybee -
That was the super-subtle one: not some sort of concealed object, but something that doesn't look out of place until you place it in context. A little like the mousetrap I guess Blood? What do you think I am - some sort of mobster? I imagined it as the sort of weed that grows on the side of locks: That's also why I chose a "wet" mud style - I tried to make it look as if the water level frequently rises and falls Yup. If only there was one more hour in the week, I could have done it, but I had to photograph whilst the light was still good outside. As for photoshopping, the cloth rug actually has a 2x2 hole in the middle. Not any more. You joined a little too late to see some of my earlier, more disturbing stuff

Mill and crops. Includes Fabuland edge x3, in 3 grades of obviousness...

For the Block-Block Builders' Guild Where is it? Indiana Jones and the post-apoc Block-Block wok MOC (with extra NannanZ and pooZ) On a trip through Block-Block land to retrieve the Wok of Power, our hero has been captured by evil Nannan drones! Luckily Sinner is saving the day by summoning the Army of the Last Pooz with his Staff of Roll, although he didn't count on the stench (odd, considering he likes a lot of smelly people, eh Stinkley? ). Whatsmore, the Evil Penguin of Block-Block is abducting the Wok of Power with his space craft, although he hasn't installed a "Beam me up, Snotty" device yet, so has to revert to more primitive means. Points of reference - Nannan's Contortion Block-Block Moko's Ipod Banksy Ice Cube Tray All poo types have been verified against the Bristol Stool Form Scale.

Thankyou! That's the problem. My extremely limited collection means that I'll have to destroy it to build anything else, yet I'm rather fond of it But the show must go on: I'll smash it tomorrow, and then on with the show! Ratty? I think he's a mouse - I can't shake off the negative connotations of rats, even if it is a water rat. I've also got something against voles for some reason...but it doesn't really matter And that's not you! It's the guy standing on the weird floating concrete block from my prize - And someone needs to do a bit of indexing... Side effect. I only have 7 large and 3 small leaf pieces, so I had to improvise... I feel that TWITW is Fabuland to the core. On the surface, it is the carefree lives of pragmatic creatures who are at one with nature, but there is a dark undertone - the Wild Wood. Also, Kenneth Grahame introduced the Ferrets and Stoats after he was assaulted by a psychotic, which left him severely traumatised - there is a more serious edge to the theme. Yet there is magic and mystery - when the baby otter is lost, Ratty and Moley find him sitting with Pan. It also was an influence on Brian Jaques' Redwall series (which is also alike to Fabuland - we've seen a fair amount of contrast between battles and peace ), in particular the characters of the badgers. Badger from TWITW is a fierce fighter and deadly serious, which is reflected in the Bloodwrath in Jaques' books. Yet he is loyal and has a love for children, which is shown again in Redwall, with badgers such as Lord Urthwyte and Constance. And you come from Welwyn? I go to school in Potter's Bar!

Thanks to Mister Hinckley for the door and Pirates Loosely based on Ratty's house from The Wind in the Willows. Cheese! Fire lights up... With friends... eeps, L please.

Yup, I think that the KK2 Lions were an upgrade on King Leo's Knights (KK1), which were an upgrade on the Royal Kinghts, which came from the Crusaders. But I don't think that there's any specific links, such as between Space Police 1 and 2 or Blacktron 1 and 2.

Just normal liquid white glue (not Pritt stick): -Comes in bottles e.t.c... Although today I didn't actually use any in making it, and it worked fine; I only used it the first time as an experiment. And now my Lego is edible!
