Remember how a lot of people complained about the "Duploization" of the new cow? I think you'll see that with any new animals, now. You won't see a lion conforming to the 2-wide-flat-side dimensions of a horse. And where will you get them? Lego Zoo? Cruelty to animals. Not too much scope here. Anyhow, look at the brick-built birds in the MMV, and the Aquaraiders animals - no need for new molds here? (I'm just playing devil's advocate - I'd like to see another bird mold myself )

I love you guys Reeds are normally tan (in birdy places), but there was nothing I could do about it (and I think green is more appealing) Ah, I remember it well Could be! Although generally I prefer a little more action with the bunnies Tiles onto plates. The inverse slopes then balance on the walls - simple as that! Sometimes I use hinges for a more secure roof, but it didn't seem necessary this time, as it was a wuick build. I don't have nearly as much as some people! I just have a high turnover - heck, I had to take apart a fair bit of the Tribal Sacrifice to get some parts for this one! Thanks! In this instance, I stretched the hand a bit (and the "head" stays on as the "entrance" to the hand just about holds onto the knobble on the end of the gear stick), but there is an alternative: The rond flat bit of this gear stick is exactly the width of a standard bar, so the hand fits on perfectly. Unfortunately on Bricklink you sometimes get standard gear sticks when you thought you ordered the small variety, which is annoying Well it was! I had hoped to have another big thing out this weekend, but a surprise German exam has put a stop to that

Oh, some time... It's big. Majek was 5th, you were 4th. After that there isn't really much difference in the scores. It was all C-P funded (Ebay ads e.t.c.)

Ooh! Thanks everyone! I hope so Although educationally I'm going down the long dark passage of maths/physics, so I guess I'll have to make do with being an astronaut I half saw them as a result of the ritual sacrifice, and thus they're enchanted/possessed e.t.c, but I only had one spare standard head (my other two were on the guys chained to the rock). It didn't take too long to do the landscaping - I can do this sort of thing nearly overnight now, as my collection (and arrangement) is up for it

Congratulations! Davy Jones' Locker - I Scream Clone One cabin, two captains - Guss Captain's Quarters - oo7 Winners, please PM me (SlyOwl) with your name, address e.t.c, so I can ship them off to you Look out for the Creative Critic result soon!

OO, I like it! The subtle green/brown ground really helps here. How did you end up colouring the headgears? They look really nice in black. And is that a girl on the back line?
-
It looks great! It's got a colonial feel, without any of the palm trees/sea e.t.c. - a difficult task, well executed! The colour scheme is actually well accentuated by the background, in my opinion - bar the bit of wall over the top of the sofa, it looks like a deliberate background; I like! What's the "poster" thing supposed to be? (1x4x3 panel) It's nice to see how Town can be adapted into Pirates too

Nice one! Lots of cool stuff going on. The bone cage is a classic winner, and the skull-torches are simple yet very effective. The integration between the cliff face and the sacrifice is very smooth, as is the pool of blood The decalling is great (do Islanders work out that much? ), although I'm slightly confused as to why the victims look like Islanders, when there's a fresh Spaniard waiting - ? I'd suggest some blood dripping over the edge of the stone platform - that'd be nice 'n' gory Oh really?

Honeybee - 1 - Blackmoor - 1 74louloute - 1 - Nice to see some "real" action Neokross - 1 - Love the walls LegoJoe - 1 Infomaniac - 1 CVSPIS_CELIDVS - 1 - No idea what's going on, but I like it! ISC, Guss, I would have gone with you to the end, but there's enough others with you oo7, what let you down in my eyes was the single photo - it looks less like a MOC, more like a "compilation" of various items. ...and thus more accurate If we'd had a simple poll, the 2nd and 3rd places would be more skewed. Voting is closed! Look for the winners soon!

Trouble is that there aren't normally very many entries. Surely real prizes are better, though, like in normal contests? One of these, filled with studs and an elastic band round the neck
-
Thanks all! It was good to do my first miniland for 6 years or so... Yup! (I think it's just a challenge, as there's no prize)
-
Great stuff! Those legs are fantastic Again, I'll agree about the head being round. It makes it look kinda clone brand
-
Thanks all! For the record, the thing on the grass is a pig, only it would be tan, but for not having the right parts I had light orange on there to start with Yup! No problemo! It's similar to this (from Nassau... ah, the good ol' days) If you're not doing an interior, it's much easier (and stronger) to just put the tiles onto stepped plates, and then use a hinge brick to hold the assembly up Kinda. The outside of the assembly is 1 plate shorter than the inside, so it can only fall out inwards. The two hands sticking out the bottom have to be recessed into the ground, so that helps keep it up too. The ones in the corners are trapped against the 1x1x5 black brick in the corner, so can't move and that leaves just one panel free to fall over There could probably be a way to keep each section up by using a technic brick e.t.c. in each of the pillars.

Fantastic stuff. The shape is beautiful, but it's little things like the bottom of the rowing boats and the 2x4x3 sloped window frames that stand out for me. All the rigging/ratlines really give it a sense of being a functioning ship My only criticism is the base of the prow - why the squareness? Even if it's the fron of the keel, it would look better with slopes there, in my opinion. Do you happen to have the equivalent Duplo chain? It could work well as the anchor chain, providing you can hide the 2x2 block on the end inside the ship. Yup, it's a great book (I have it as part of the Ultimate Cross Sections Book). Best £12 I ever spent (on a book)

Agreed. Now I see it "in real life" it looks much better than I thought it would The grenadier too looks great, although as I don't really go in for historical accuracy, the minor variations between the rest don't make much difference to me

70a Finally worked out how to get an interior out of the shingle technique - clicky.
-
Sure thing! But the quicker you build it, the more people will be likely to vote for it
-
And they look superb now! The whole thing is great. 2 decks of cannons Are you going to replace those stepped grey plates between the main deck and poop deck with slopes?
-
Voting has begun! Head on through...

There don't seem to be any pictures at the moment (or in your BS gallery) Voting will start very soon, so you'll need some pictures to qualify Edit: Voting started. We'll add you in if you get pictures up.

Each member on Eurobricks has 7 points to divide freely between the entries. Vote by posting how you divide your points. Example: All combinations are allowed. Please don't vote for your own entry You should post each member's name with the number of points you allocate their entry on a different line. After your votes, leave the next line blank. Then you can say what you want after that - why you picked them e.t.c. This will also count towards the Creative Critic. Voting will end 18th April, after which the winners will be announced, along with the Creative Critic results.
