  1. Sorry for the double post, but it's been a long time coming on my end and I wanted to share my latest piece:
  2. I'd say it's great for a non-fan as much as a huge fan like myself. I'm currently saving up for this since I already own the Ecto-1, may as well give it a home. Lots of great pieces, minifig parts (Dana for instance) and I bet you could convert the firehouse to a generic one once you take out the Ghostbusters bits (Vigo photos for instance)
  3. I usually keep boxes for larger sets like this. Smaller ones I could care less, but bigger ones like this are important.
  4. I might have to get two Docs then along with the Judge. The Nova officer from one of the Guardians of the Galaxy sets could work well for a head.
  5. That sucks. Pertwee was the first Doctor I ever watched on PBS back when they used to air classic episodes and I wanted to do a Lego version of him. Like I said with the 7th, hopefully they'll release some of the older Doctors like they did Smith in the Ideas set (Who is a great minifig, just got him off Bricklink in the mail today)
  6. It could really be a matter of lighting. They use the white Frodo piece in Dimensions, but blonde could work as a good replacement. Some pictures I saw looked blonde but others were grayish white.
  7. I saw them too, and I agree, they are extremely creepy. I'm perfectly happy with my stylized minifig self instead of something that looks way too detailed and expensive.
  8. 7th seems like such a particular outfit to where the only way I could accurately do him would be use a decal or hope and pray Lego does an official version based on the Dimensions design. I've changed the legs on the 4th but since you mentioned 8th, I have a head for him, but no body yet. When I go looking for pieces to make the original Doctors, I'll get parts for him. Hulk suggested the CMF Judge torso for the 3rd Doctor, but I have no idea what to use for his head/hair, again using the Dimensions design as a template. If we had the Frodo or Anakin hair in white it'd be perfect, but again the head is a mystery. I at least have an idea for the 2nd and even 6th. I do have an idea for Rose, using Penny from TBBT set as a template (That's where I got 7th's head from, it's Sheldon)
  9. I'm giving Zinh a try with their Egghead. At less than a dollar, even if he ends up being a waste, there's no harm. Hopefully he'll be an eggcellent purchase.
  10. I actually used the Dimensions versions as a template and did the closest I could with the parts I had to work with. I saw someone used Henry Jones' body for the 7th Doctor since I couldn't find anything that really matched it since his outfit is pretty particular and, like you said, colorful. I forgot to get his umbrella for the shoot, but I did source one from my Penguin figure. 9th I wanted to kind of get that cheesy grin he has at times, and I had to improvise with his torso (It's really Han Solo's with black arms to make his jacket) 4th I've seen people use Frodo's hair and torso before, but I guess the legs made you think 8th? The face I originally used Ray's head from Ghostbusters to get that cheeky smile, but I thought Han's would work too. 10th I've seen a lot of people use that body for him, but I figured the Zombie Businessman's hair would work for the somewhat characteristic hair he has. I've seen a ton of Sleepyhead hairs and such but I like this one. The head I do agree is a better choice. Glad you like the War Doctor, but I think he could have had an angrier face if any did. He is the War Doctor after all. Now I'm trying to turn my attention to either the older Doctors (1-3) and some companions.
  11. Here's my attempts at a few Doctors. We have the 7th, 9th, 10th, War Doctor, and 4th. Not perfect, but I'm happy with them.
  12. Oh yes, I too would love to see how I could mod mine like this, at least to open up without opening the roof.
  13. It's a shame Alfred is so expensive, or else I'd use him. Still, Lincoln would make a good 2nd. What I'd like to know is what'd make for a good 5th-7th. I have an idea for the 9th which I'll show here soon.
  14. Favorite classic game: Lego Racers or Lego Chess. Racers has a lot of nostalgic value and being a Mario Kart fan, I loved the familiar elements and the twist of building your own character and upgrading power ups, and Chess was pure nostalgia all the way. Least favorite classic game: Legoland. I loved Roller Coaster Tycoon growing up and thought Legoland would make the concept blossom to a new level, but it just didn't feel Lego-like to me. It was just a more confusing RCT with a Lego filter and needless story. Favorite modern game: Dimensions or Lego Marvel. Dimensions is far more substantial than I originally gave it credit for. The toy pad integration adds another dimension, pardon the pun, to the game and makes it unique from the other tried and true Lego games of late. Plus they do justice for the franchises represented (Especially Dr. Who) Lego Marvel is my favorite regular Lego game, but I have a feeling Avengers may overthrow it. Least favorite modern game: Lego Movie or Lord of the Rings. Both felt like something was missing. Lego Movie was a scaled down version of a typical Lego game and felt kind of cheap, while Lord of the Rings was the glitchiest game I played, since I could never get past a section because an item would fail to spawn. It just didn't mix well to me.
  15. Ooohh, good idea. I was thinking that too. I might use my Lego Movie Lincoln torso for the Second Doctor.
  16. I can't believe I haven't posted in this thread yet, since I've played the game since December even though I picked up the Portal pack before I even got the game (Because I'm a Portal nerd) But so far I have: Portal Level Pack BTTF Dr. Who (My favorite of the level packs thus far) Unikitty Cyborg (I needed him to complete my Justice League) Wicked Witch Jurassic World I'm trying to get my hands on the Scooby team pack, at least the characters, and I too am preordering the Cyberman and Doc Brown, but I'm waiting for the release for Ghostbusters since I ultimately found the other level packs cheaper a little while after they've been out (I got Dr. Who for only $20 on eBay) As for future packs, I'm surprised they didn't do more with Wizard of Oz like a Tinman/Scarecrow team pack or give Dorothy a level pack, and have the hot air balloon be her vehicle and maybe Toto as a brick built model like Owen's raptor and the ruby slippers as her accessory. It seems like a waste to get the license and a level without much in the way of physical media. Midway Arcade, as much as I'm excited for it, seems like a random addition, but I like the builds and I can't wait for the level pack itself, which I assume are Legofied arcade classics.
  17. Those were some awesome Autons then. I felt the blank expressions the generic faces have work well for them, but then it changes the whole meaning of the modular sets. I have some Sleepyhead hair somewhere, but my Tennant has ZB's hair and I think it looks alright until then. Now I'm trying to figure out some of the classic Doctors aside from the 4th.
  18. I was wondering when a thread like this would pop up. A lot of these ideas are great and I have a few I want to show off but I need some advice: I'm working on a 10th Doctor (I know, how original) and I thought the Zombie Businessman hairpiece would work well for him instead of the generic Mutt hairpiece. What do you all think? Also, for making a legion of Autons, I saw some on the last page and wondered if you could use generic Lego smileys for them. It'll give me a use for the ones I have.
  19. Missing Hulk Hogan and it would have been the ultimate 80s throwback. Still love it!
  20. I got prize B (Star Wars) and while I saw the movie and loved it, I really don't collect Star Wars minifigs unless it's the original trilogy, so if anyone wants Star Wars shoot me a PM. I'm interested in either the DC pack, Marvel pack, Dr. Who pack, or Scooby Doo. I already have all the minifigs from prize A, but the others I'll happily trade with. I'd prefer US members, but if I have to trade internationally, I can.
  21. I've been contemplating this myself since this was the one WV set I wouldn't mind getting (Aside from Santa's Workshop) since it's rare to get a full house in Lego outside of the Creator line and I personally love all the little details and builds.
  22. Wow, I won for the second year in a row! Shame I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan and the other minifigs caught my eye a bit more (Except the Dimension figs, on the grounds I already own them) Still, it's an honor and I appreciate you doing this again. Maybe I'll change my tune once I see the movie, who knows.
  23. ^ Agreed. I mean it's a great set, coming from someone who's not even a fan of the show, but given the price and amount of parts, they could have thrown in a few episode-specific jokes/references like with the Simpsons sets, like the friendship algorithm could be on the whiteboard or let Sheldon have his Fun with Flags flags. They details they do have are good like the Green Lantern lantern and nanofigs used as action figures.
  24. JLB has some Scooby Doo bootlegs. These are.....Well, you be the judge.
  25. Deadpool was the one saying the caption, but I like yours too.
