Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
legoturtle replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Is it possible that some day we get some of the licensed themes under these MAIN topics. I would like to see Indiana Jones here and Disney/Lightyear in space/sci-fi -section. Reason is that we could get all the adventure/action fans in same place. (Thank you for the excellent forum)- 226 replies

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
legoturtle replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you all for explaining things. I really hope that we get something else than Ninjago and Dreamzzz... Indiana Jones is adventure BUT last 2 movies haven't revive that franchise. LEGO's own themes are always interesting even if I don't like some of them. Most licensed themes are a bit boring because there are NO surprises. For example it is interesting to see a new "Death Star" BUT then again we now what is Death Star ... and how it looks and so on. Adventure lives strong in LEGO CITY sub themes ... that's why I would like to see a OWN topic, exploration. Maybe this whole FORUM should be reorganised.- 226 replies

Hello all, Do you think that there could be a EXPLORATION topic also... because TLG combined (Deep Sea Explorers) and (Arctic) together. Also Jungle and Space are exploration. Because probably most of the LEGO CITY fans try to build own city, BUT there is so many sub themes about exploration. CITY sub themes: Volcano Explorers, Wildlife rescue, Arctic, Deep Sea Explorers, Jungle, Space and now even Exploration.

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
legoturtle replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
What is adventure theme in 2023? Are new Indiana Jones sets? Or what about LEGO CITY who combined (Deep Sea Explorers) and (Arctic) together as EXPLORATION subtheme. Dreamzzz in my opinion is not adventure theme, it is just a dream for babies. Child imagination is in different level. Why didn't they ask from kids to write down their real dreams. Then make a theme from them. I think lego could make a new under water theme. It could be even in different planet which humans have discovered. A Planet 90 % of water. Caves under sea. Animals, plants, rocks... a little bit of sci-fi like in this new SUBTHEME which is everywhere in 2024. Adventure themes should not die. It is the CORE of LEGO.- 226 replies

I would like to know what is this "classic space style"? BECAUSE that amazing Galaxy Explorer was 90 anniversary set. If we are unlucky we don't get that quality very often. Disney/Lightyear XL-15 spaceship is very nice, one of my all time favourite, but quite small. Star Wars spaceships take so much from other space related sets... So I would like to be positive for 2024 that we get something similar than those 2. I still think that this "Space" year / theme is just something very extraordinary for us who love space. It feels like whole new wave. I don't mind at all that those Friends helmets does not fit. I think it is a good news. MAYBE year 2024 is the best lego year for decades... 20-30 sets which are must buy!

LEGO Sci-Fi Ongoing - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
legoturtle replied to Lyichir's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Good point once again. Actually when we look LEGO CITY/Space sets as whole ... we can say that those characters, vehicles, bases are very advanced. Way more advanced even than in NASA concept images. AND they have discovered a way to make "power" for the BASE from super crystal and for vehicles other "power source" plants, crystals, combination of those two. Leg print, that red marking and red triangle is same than in LEGO CITY/Space sets from 2022. It might be that those characters took Moon for them and some of them continued to Mars. BUT now this "theme" is actually further away in time. It is planet where asteroids are near, there are holes full of purple light, friendly aliens which I like a lot, violet crystals, purple plants, even super crystal... also some of the minifigures have advanced technology attached to their heads. I am like a small child. This all is a DREAM come TRUE! This feels like almost own space theme. -

Great points! Thank you all. What about this LEGO Friends set... it is in Mars... also we have LEGO Technic set Mars Crew Exploration Rover... BUT where are the crystals? Aliens are bit different... is it still the same universe? https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/mars-space-base-and-rocket-42605 -

I would like to know what is the story behind this purple crystal. You can mine violet crystals and collect purple plants BUT what about that mega crystal. -

I would like that there are maybe 1-3 named characters and small backstory for them. This time they are not NASA who's in the space? Or are they. LEGO CITY/Space (2022) it was NASA. Artemis program and the destination was Moon. Where they have Moon base and rover. Then they have spaceship which travels around moon... Maybe that character from LEGO Dreamzzz/Space set is some kind of boss? Or we might see, if we are lucky, even more space sets... maybe there is someone named in CMF series, if we get one. ... Actually... now I understand the LORE. In 2022 NASA went to moon with Artemis project. They have a Moon base there, moon rover, spaceship... and of course a base in Earth. NOW! 2023 they have travelled from Moon to Mars. In 2024 they are in Mars but it is not sure is it NASA. AND maybe they travelled somewhere else also. They have that interstellar spaceship. Also they have 2 rovers, many spaceships also (polybag) one, spaceship base and planet base. They have robots and focus on: mining and research and they need pilots. Lots of them. They know how to collect plants and energy crystals. Even combine those two to make some kind of crystal-botanic batteries... and those are used with all kind of machines. That admiral reminds me from Prometheus (Peter Weyland) ... when he got to the destination, he was very old but still in lead. Those aliens are friendly it says... that is nice, because in quite many movies aliens always attack and destroy. ... Have notice that purple SUPER crystal? https://www.brickstore.nz/collections/lego-vehicles/products/lego-city-60432-command-rover-and-crane-loader -

Welcome to the space base where the crew is preparing for another epic mission. The admiral is in command, and the rocket ship is ready on the launchpad. Scientists have tested the new crystal-botanic batteries and the tower crane is loading them into the ship’s cargo hold for delivery to an orbiting space station. Grab your space gear from the carousel, climb aboard and prepare for blastoff! Amazing that we get some story... -

Yes Artemis program and also I would say the UFO phenomenon which is going on in USA. Congress wants more transparency for the topic. Also SpaceX and Elon Musk. Plan is to get to the Moon first to establish a moon base. (James Webb telescope also) -

For me this is a DREAM come true. Of course we all hope OWN space theme BUT we have to be realistic. That Star Wars theme has taken sci-fi space themes place. That is very sad BUT let's enjoy whole year!! (2024). DOES ANYONE know why 2024 is a year of SPACE? -

Space is now also in Duplo set? What is going on? We have seen it across not only City, but also Technic, Duplo, Dreamzzz, Friends, Creator 3in1 and Classic. https://ramblingbrick.com/2023/12/03/there-is-space-for-everyone-in-2024s-lego-catalogue/ ... Actually, now I understand what is going on. We will see this Space LOGO and NAME only in 2024. For example in 2025 it can be for example Castle. The Year of Castle and then we see castle related sets in many many themes... this is very sad because I hoped that we could have own space theme... BUT instead we see some space sets, in different themes... not this many than 2024, but some... :/ -

I think they have taken inspiration from movies like: Aliens, Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, The Martian, Interstellar and others... It is very COOL that colours mean something. It is nice that there is also small robots. If you look upcoming Technic set (spaceship) it has a container. You can easily connect modules with it. So probably all these sets with Space LOGO are connected to each other. This is AMAZING! All of this. -

We are getting at least 15+1 "Space related sets" in 2024. Maybe even more. City, Dreamzzz, Friends, Technic... Take my money! -
https://www.brickfanatics.com/six-new-lego-technic-2024-sets-revealed I think this is the first time I will buy LEGO Technic sets: 42178 Surface Space Loader LT78 42180 Mars Crew Exploration Rover 42181 VTOL Heavy Cargo Spaceship This is because these Space sets look sci-fi and reminds me about movie, The Martian, Matt Damon alone in Mars. I wish LEGO would be brave and not to try please everyone. Do their own interesting thing, like with these upcoming Space sets. Thank you TLG.
