I am planning to make a MOC of this. For several minifigures. This NASA concept will change something in a bit further away in time. Future, maybe 2100... It was very interested to listen how the design team worked with NASA. And that toilets were a first thing that TLG had to include. All of those things around Mars-rover in this sets do something / are used for something in real life. Very fascinating to listen...

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion
legoturtle replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
It seems that Indiana Jones is our only hope - if we want temples, traps, hidden treasure. In jungle and desert. That's why I just bought that "Golden Idol Temple". I really hope that TLG would do more I.J. sets or something similar with own adventure theme. (BUT probably that is not realistic at the moment because of these horrible Dreamzzz and Ninjago).- 226 replies

Ok, good to hear. I try to buy all of those sets. (I don't wait "black spaceship" because we don't know anything about it. It might not come 2024). Even "Space" Minifigure collection is unsure. What it is and so on...

I bought all LEGO/Space sets (2022) and then all LEGO/Exploration sets (2023). NOW in 2024 I try to buy as many "Space theme" sets I can. I am not interested about city building or cars and so on. CITY have these awesome sub themes... could they be own themes? Well maybe but it would not change that much. I think it was a good decision combine "Arctic" and "Deep Sea Exploration" ... under CITY/Exploration sub-theme.

A lot of good points, thank you sir. I actually bought CITY/Space sets (2022) and CITY/Exploration sets (2023). Now I am planning to buy as many "Space" sets as I can in 2024. Also this month that "Temple of the Golden Idol. It seems that CITY/sub themes are those who take a little bit of risk... not Dreamzzz or Ninjago.- 226 replies

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion

Well it depends where TLG puts its most effort, money, marketing... I would love to see animations about Aquazone type of things... or for example something mysterious in Egypt and so on...- 226 replies

Well if you think movies like Prometheus and Alien: Covenant... then aliens are hostile. BUT when you think movies like Interstellar and The Martian, I would say that the focus is more in science. Star Trek used to be more investigating things than for example Star Wars. It is actually nice that we are getting this sub theme which seems to focus: mining and research. It is about new energy resources. BUT maybe in the future they discover another planet where aliens are hostile and they need a whole crew of different characters. For example like in Prometheus. Could there be some kind of history. Statues, treasure, technology... hidden in caves or somewhere. At the moment I want to be realistic and that's why I hope these sets sell well. After that we could see something even more sci-fi. Factions, aliens, who knows what.

Well, at least it is LEGO's own theme. That gives us hope to get themes from lego and not just licensed themes.- 226 replies

Action and Adventure Themes Discussion

I hope to see end of Ninjago and Dreamzzz. BUT about Icons, I have all these 90th-anniversary set... Lion Knight's Castle, Galaxy Explorer, Forrest Hideout and Blacktron Cruiser. They are all also play sets and display sets. Anyway as long we have Ninjago and Dreamzzz we don't get COOL things like Aquazone, Ultra Agents or for example Pharaoh Quest ... and then we look up things like Indiana Jones BUT there is only 3 new sets. Not even that temple :/- 226 replies

Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
legoturtle replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
Don't get me wrong but Disney might end Indiana Jones franchise. Now they try to change Star Wars something completely different, no one knows what. ALSO we will se fall of Marvel (but that is a very good thing). Disney had this animation movie "Buzz Lightyear" and it had 1 very good set. XL-15 spaceship. About that temple... I have heard that there might be some license issues. Some think that movie too violent because they rip the heart of. Also Disney might fear this political era where we are now - that it might upset some tripe somewhere / and activist. This kind of thing happened to Jabba the Hutt's palace. It almost destroyed LEGO's excellent reputation biggest toy in the world. ... Here is 1 of the best videos I have ever seen about lego set. -
