For the love of our dear Lord I'm getting sick of so many people abusing the OOC function! It's actually ridiculous! I mean, it's fine if you have something important to say, but most of the things said recently have not been important all! Sorry, it's a silly thing to get so caught up over, but it's starting to bug me as well now...

You see, that is the problem. There isn't really very much information to go off. I feel that Charles has summed up what has been discovered today nicely; hopefully it will be useful in our investigations. I cannot see anything else right now, but I will think over what has been said today, and if anything jumps out at me, I'll let you all know.

Hi everyone, I'm back again. I was searching through my records in the vain hope that I might find something, but alas, no. Now, it seems that there is a big thing going on against one of our nobles. To be honest, after reading through listening to all of that, I think I have learnt a bit about some of the people here, and why they vote for some people. As I said earlier on, there is very little evidence at all, and none of it points to Charles. That said, there isn't anything really to say that he isn't a witch, but then, everyone here is in those same circumstances, so it doesn't help is much. So my conclusion, after looking at all the evidence, is that we are just as stuck right now as we were at the beginning of the day. Personally, I would need a bit more evidence against Charles before I decided to vote for him. As I see things at the moment, there are people here who provoke far more suspicion that he does, for example, the people who were so willing to vote for him without any evidence. I will be interested to find out if our actions today have managed to help us in any way; darkness draws near, and we will soon find out whether what we have learnt is going to be any use.

Man you've got a lot of fire power on those beasts. These are some excellent MOCs StoneW4, I especially love your flagship. I mean, four levels of cannons!? It's amazing! The design is great and it just looks fantastic. I also like how you have cannons on the back as well, the four near the bottom and the two up top. And then, if that isn't enough, cannons on the front too! I wouldn't want to meet that ship out on the seas! I also really like how you have done the sails, it is truly a masterpiece. Great work indeed.

I like this idea Sandy. Somebody could build the external walls, and then other people who perhaps don't have as many bricks could work on the interior modules, which would all slot into place. This idea is very appealing, as it means that the person working on the walls doesn't have to build all the rooms as well, but can have someone else do that. Yes, I think this idea would work perfectly.

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Dragonator replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Yep, I'm keen. This ties in well with my idea too, as we have a 'team leader' so to speak who organises the people in the team and then each team can work on their sections. Then perhaps if ideas need to be discussed between the groups then it could be done by the team leaders, meaning that decisions can be made faster. I think this way we can all get on with building and also share our ideas together with the people it will affect, ie, the ones in your group. Oh and as for setting everything up together at the end, I'm sure this can be done with photo editing software somehow. That or we enslave Hinck to build every module for us and set it up. He has enough bricks for it. -
And Philip, Charles' wife, as well as anyone else who can write. Again, no one single suspect. Also, Sabrina mentions a good point in that for all we know, the parchment could have been bought to write a letter and may only have been mentioned by the hands in the sky to try and mislead us. Everything is just so confusing, I don't know who to suspect. There is plenty of evidence, but none of it points to anybody. Gah, I need a lie down, all this going around in circles is making me dizzy...

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Dragonator replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Sorry for the double post, bt after reading the other thread, I've had another idea. As we all know, not all our collections are the same size. Some of us have huge numbers of bricks, with some people who could probably build this castle all on their own, whilst others have very small resources. What I am thinking, is that if we split up into teams, then it will be easier for us to figure out who builds what. For example, one person may only have enough bricks to build a small section, and so this would give the opportunity for someone with a larger number of bricks to build something a little bigger. Basically, no matter how big or small you can build things, everyone would be able to build something to contribute to the overall model. Let us take for example a part of the keep. One person has decided they are going to build an entire tower and roof section, whilst another person just wants to build a bedroom for the king. These two could work together in their group to build these two things together, so they can fit in with each other easily, for example, the bedroom person may not have many grey bricks, so they build an interior with paneled walls and the other guy builds the exterior walls. Then when they are finished the two can slot together. Basically, I think that we will be able to get a lot more creativity if we work in smaller groups which can discuss matters and make decisions together to get their part of the castle finished. Right, that's enough from me for the moment, I want to know what you think. -
I must say that I think ISC's one is a little... well square. It looks a little to uniform to be realistic. What we really need is a mixture of ISC's, thrash's, and Sandy's. I must say that for what we want to do, thrash has the best sort of idea, with lots of easy to build modules. But then, I like the asymmetrical idea behind Sandy's one, and ISC's also has plenty of room for some great stuff. Have a look at my idea of teams in the other thread, because I think this could be incorporated into that idea nicely. I'll have more to say in the other thread. For now, I'll hold my vote.

EB Community Castle Build: Discussion Thread
Dragonator replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hi guys. Everything is moving along great here, and I just want to add a few suggestions of my own. Firstly, I like the idea of a floor plan, much like the second one that thrash posted. However, we should not be limiting height etc, I mean, 12 studs is a pretty small castle. What I am think is perhaps splitting everyone up into 'teams', with each team working on a large section of wall. That way, the height and any other things can be discussed amongst the smaller groups, and we wont have to have everything looking uniform. Taking thrash's second layout as an idea, we could have two teams of at least 6 people who together build the whole central keep, one person for each numbered baseplate. Then, we vote for which team's build we like the best. Does that sound good to the rest of you? I'm thinking if we do it this way then we will be able to incorporate random towers and turrets etc and have a lot more freedom to work in, as well as being able to pool ideas with fellow group members. This same thing could also apply to sections of the outer wall. Another bonus of doing it this way is that we would not have to have a uniform way of connecting each module except where different groups' sections attach to one another. The people within each group would be able to devise their own method of attaching to one another's sections that is relevant to what they are building. Also, this way not every section will have to be the same size and we can also easily incorporate KimT's idea for having the wall in a few studs on certain baseplates to incorporate rounded towers etc. Lastly, smaller groups would be good because they could get on with things faster, rather than having to discuss every decision with 30 other members. The only things that would have to be discussed collectively would be the height at which each group wants their group's project to attach to other groups' projects, and of course the overall shape of the model, which is what each group's project will be based off anyway. So, what do you all think of that for an idea? I would be very happy to help with organising groups etc if you all think this could possibly work. At the moment I'm just making it as a suggestion, because as things are, it looks like we're going to spend the next 4 months trying to figure out what people should build. The idea in this is to have fun, so lets try and get all the getting started stuff sorted so we can get building! -
LEGO in Film & TV: Index of Appearances
Dragonator replied to Izzy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Wow, it's amazing how many movies have Lego featured in them. I never would have guessed! I don't know about movies, but I do know of a book that has Lego mentioned in it, and that is the first book in "The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant" by Stephen Donaldson. Near the beginning the mentally challenged son of one of the main characters builds a huge model of one of the main landmarks in the fantasy world that most of the book is set in. -
How a minifig actually looks inside
Dragonator replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I saw this over on the Brother's Brick, and frankly, I am impressed. This is one awesome poster, although it would be good if it was big enough to read the writing. I had a look at his site earlier in the day, and boy does he have some crazy stuff on there. -
This sounds like a great project, good luck! I know that I myself am terrible at sorting, so perhaps I'll learn a bit from this. My mani problem is that I'll start sorting, but then I'll think of a use for the parts, and so everything becomes unsorted again. Then it just lies around everywhere taking up space. I'm looking forward to seeing what you achieve, this might be enough to motivate me to do some of my own sorting.

Hey mate, I have this set, and I have to say, it is a great train. The wagons are great, with some nice details, and the main engine is really well designed. You should go for it, especially if it's on sale. The great thing about it is that it can run on 9V track as well, so it can be easily converted. Also, the wagons are fine to fit in with any of the earlier train sets. If you like the look of it, then go for it.

Hey look, there's me! Glad to see I'm being my normal happy, cheerful self. I can't wait until I can start mocking you again. Bring on MCII I say, it's getting a bit boring, locked in this castle. Well you can show off your new manor house in a few days, once I upload the pictures. Yay! Who are you calling strange, kitty cat? I eat orange fur balls for breakfast. Don't mind him, he doesn't mean it. Ah, yes I do. Shut it. Oh, right, what's the point in this thread? Oh, look, a house. Sorry, were we interrupting you? No, don't mind us. We'll just be leaving. Oh, but I must comment on this house first... Hey, nice work. I think you've done really well with this. It has a very "classic" feeling to it, which I like a lot, and the simplicity fits in well with the Fabuland theme. I love the toilet, that looks pretty cool. I do think the roof area could do with a little more work though, perhaps finishing it off with some more red roof tiles like Faramir suggested. Still, the overall model is great. Man I love Fabuland. I need to try my hand at building some Fabuland stuff sometime...

I think you have a few facts wrong my friend, or perhaps your trying to distort things since I'm your competition in this town. Anyway, the fact is, that these items, by themselves, are not evil. They are the normal sort of stock any self-respecting merchant would have. But in the hands of witches, they could be dangerous. That is why we need to find who bought these items, and why. There could be a very legitimate reason, but I doubt it. As for the parchment, I'm pretty sure it didn't have anything on it, it probably just came out of one of my piles of blank sheets I keep out back. I have all sorts of people buy parchment every day, especially the nobles, so I don't really see what the big deal is about it. Rich people write lots of letters. As for the broomstick, I think we've already explained that at least 3 times. I'm getting sick of going around and around in circles, we need to find the people who bought these items, not keep discussing the items in question. Really you'd think some people here didn't listen to what others were saying. Hang on, that's a good point. The only people around here who would buy parchment are the people who can read and write. So perhaps that will thin down our investigation?

Thanks for this Nyundi, it is really helpful, and I must say that I learned something from it. I'll have to try it out sometime soon. It is clearly laid out and is easy to follow, which is what tutorials should be like. Well done, and I'm sure many here in the community will find this to be a valuable asset.

I love that new one, collecting heads is just so awesome! The blood, the use of skeleton heads further down, this is just great. I liked the previous one, that this one far outdoes it, especially since it has some mindless violence in it. I think you've done an excellent job on the choice of expressions for all the heads, especially the one being cut up by the pirate. The use of brown and frown planks gives a nice texture to the floor too. This is a great improvement, and I like it a lot. Well done, and good luck in the contest.

Who said it was a witches parchment? As far as we know, it was just a blank sheet of parchment. As I said earlier, all the items are just the normal stuff any merchant would sell, but in the current circumstances, certain buyers, aka unknown witches, could possibly use the items for fiendish acts. Do you understand now? Good.

Hey, since when was dressing like a foreigner a crime, hey? If you want to go on about foreigners, then go on about the Inquisitor, for in reality, the only thing we know about him is that he says he's here to clear up the town. Anyway, as Charles, has pointed out, it is not actually my job to record who I sell each item to. Do you think Martinus records each and every person he sells a loaf of bread to? No. Also, I'm sure many people in this town can write, including yourself and all the nobles. It's what comes of being rich and educated. Lastly, I do not think you can possibly blame me for selling "witch" supplies. If you want to look at things that way, then you could also say that the bakery and other food places are guilty of selling food to the witches, which keeps them alive. But that is just silly, isn't it, and so is accusing me of selling normal household items to witches. I can assure you that if a witch came into my store, then I would not sell her a thing, and would turn her out and hand her over to the mob. The problem at the moment is, however, that we do not know who the witches are.

Oh, yes please! Sabrina brings up a good point, who bought the axe, and what are they planning? I didn't even know I sold weapons. Either I'm getting forgetful, or something weird is going on here...

Congratulations TheBrickster and WhiteFang!
Dragonator replied to Shadows's topic in Forum Information and Help
Congratulations to you both, and definitely well deserved. Thanks for your great contributions to the community, I certainly appreciate the work you put in. -
Now hang on, that isn't fair. It isn't my fault that witches use these normal household items for fiendish purposes. For all we know, somebody could have bought the broomstick to sweep out their kitchen. But then, in the current circumstances, I think most people would have thrown their broomsticks out by now. Why do you want to accuse me so much Father? It is much to obvious for it to be true if these purchases were pointing to me, and so because of this, it must be one of the other three. We must learn not to look at everything with a face value, but rather explore these clues in greater depth. I'm sure you yourself have many parchments and a broomstick that you use in the church to sweep, but I'm not accusing you of witchcraft, am I? No, it is not the fact that I am selling these items, but rather we need to know who it is that would dare buy such controversial items during this time of crisis. Ah right, sorry. I was a bit delusional as to what the clue meant at that time. Now that we have cleared that up, we should try and put our good fortune to good use.
-
I'm sorry, but once the money is in my hand I have to count it and make sure it's all there. It's a habit of mine. Well let us see now, which of these three is it most likely to be. It could be Sabrina because of her name, but then, that is to obvious. John was after a Persian rug, and we all know that warlocks use Persian rugs to fly around on... Then there is Cassandra, who I know nothing about. Three suspects, but only one of them is likely to be the witch. So Which is the witch? Hey, don't you start getting pig-headed on me. I have absolutely nothing to hide. In fact, this was a s much a shock for me as it was for the rest of you, so stop complaining. When did I say that the sales record I'm holding is the parchment in question? I thought somebody just bought the parchment? You are the one that is confused my friend. I do find it very strange however that I do not know who bought the items. Then again, I don't normally record the names of the people who come in to my store, and yet, you would think I would remember them buying it. Perhaps they used their witchy powers to confuse me.
-
Hey look everyone, a clue! Finally! This here piece of parchment looks like the sort a witch might leave here. I must say it would be far to obvious for this clue to point to me, since I'm the one holding it, however I think that one of the three wandering around the market might have left it here. That's Sabrina, John, and Cassandra. Which one of you left this here? Hmmm? Or was it that other merchant who's name I have forgotten? This is very interesting, I think we may be on to something... Opps, sorry, didn't see you there. Unfortunately I don't know who bought the stuff, but it must have been one of those three. John spent quite a bit of time here looking at my rugs, and Sabrina was here looking at other things, so it could have been one of them. The there is Cassandra too...
