I hope the first but I think the last. -
Is the medieval theme as popular as it used to be?
DonQuixote replied to plastic-man's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's because the US is their main market now. Especially with Starwars. -

I am a castle fan and I find Ninjago discusting. I do like the original ninja /samurai theme from the late nineties (I think) without the tech, robots and stuff. Yes, I am happy with that. But now I need/want horse bardings for those new factions. Ok, the Krakens don't need one but the horse faction defenitely needs horse bardings -

Classic castle started in 1984 for me but I did get my first castle sets in 1986. I agree with Fright Knights. Too cartoony. Ugly sets. Dragon Masters were my last castle faction I have sets from. After that my dark age began and videos games took over. Playstation 1! 100% agreed -

The same lenght gives it more that mocyourbricks vibe. And with the bell and glass roof window. -

That gwp is the only gwp I was interested in. It had the Forest People shields. Majisto workshop didn't have the long dragon shield and dragon helmet and plumes. So I skipped that one. The upcoming Sea Serpent gwp will suck. It will not have a cloth sail and no iconic long dragon shields. Unless there is an upcoming Black Knights castle remake. I have sold the Sega Megadrive controller gwp and Jack Sparrow's compass gwp before I even completed the Black Pearl build. I knew these are popular so I decided to purchase the Pearl at midnight. It really helped to soften the price of the very expensive Black Pearl. -

That's so sad. Remake Black Barracuda was mynreturn to Lego from the dark ages. It's classic themes(castle, pirates, classic space) I am here for and the exceptionel Rivendell and Black Pearl. Maybe the next dark age is coming for me But ok, we have some cool sets at BDP I am interested in. So... keep making classic related designs guys! -

If Lego would release a remake set of the Sea Serpent with a decent budget instead of it being a gwp next year, I would certainly buy 5 of these to army build and start a small armada. -

Classic themes are very niche now. Lego is allmost all about licensed themes. The only castle set you will find in stores right now is the creator horse knight castle 31168. The other 2 sets are only available online at the Lego webstore and they are targeted for nostalgic adults. They also are expensive. They will retire at the end of the year so if you want them ,you need to hurry! -
The set is allready on sale over here for €90 I am a Lego purist when it comes to Lego minifig parts but I have no problem buying alternative bricks....if that makes sense...lol

What is SWF? And how do you know all this? The price machine is terrible priced for an unlicensed set. But look at the new fish tank,€450, no minifigs, no license. Insane! This is the new Lego company know. Only interested in castle minifig army building. I am not gonna pay €180 for 4 minifigs I am interested in. Well, prepare to die! You Kraken scum! The era of the Griffin is about to come! -

The Lion Knights look really cool with those paladin armor combined with the long Lion shields and colorfull capes, especially if they are riding horses with bardings That's a custom breast plate on the right? Those white prints are good. Often you will get pink with Lego's white printing on red Fleshtones only for licensed themes. Yellow for everything else. That makes it distinguishable like the Simpsons -

I can wait About the Griffin torso : that sounds like a good idea if they can use the tiny budget for the shields Probably I wonder when they will show up at pab -

Only interested in classic themes: classic castle, pirates and classic space. I have limited space and money. Only licensed sets I own are Rivendell ( not really a Lord of the Rings fan but this set is the most beautiful display set I have ever seen with cool minifigs, no interest in hobbit hole and ugly black tower) And Hector Barbossa's pirate ship ( sold the Sega controller gwp and compass to make it more affordable) -

I tried to upload pics up here but it doesn't work. Regarding Wessex, my Nørðumbria is not an English kingdom. It's a made up kingdom and because it has the word norð/north in it ,I think it's a cool name for the Black Falcons kingdom. And Winterfell is their castle. For the Lion Knights, I use the new ones. All soldiers are male ,wear kettle helmets and pauldrons. No female warriors. They are very uniform . Only the Knights are different with different colors of capes and plumes. The knights all wear long Lion shields and the new armor with pauldrons from the Paladin cmf. They are richer than the Falcons so they have more money for expensive armor. They live in a warmer climate with luxurious vinyards. And therefore I call their kingdom Cataluña. Their castle is called Camelot. -

Yes strange. It was my comeback to Lego after a long dark age. I bought it full price at a toy store. I didn't know about a Lego website and insider points. It was an impulse buy. This set came out before Lego 's 90 years of play. Maybe we will get more retro Lego sets with its 100 years of play in 2032? Looking at Majisto workshop gwp.... I don't think so. I still have the original Sea Serpent. I think it's better to buy that one secondhand at Bricklink than paying a ridiculous price for a set you actually don't want, just to get the gwp Sea Serpent.
