  1. The Lego minifig and licensed themes are the only things that keep Lego king of the building brick companies. The competition has become very good. Only their minifigs suck and lack of licensing. But MegaBloks has the Game of Thrones license and their minifigs are rather good. You can actually recognize Emilia Clarke in the Daenerys minifig. Also proportions are better.
  2. The Pegasus shield goes very well with the torso from the Paladin CMF. I have tried it. Looks good. Especially with a gold color plume on the helmet and a magenta cape
  3. I check every day. When they're on PAB, I will let everybody know. Ofcourse after I made sure I ordered some.... hihi
  4. That's why the Galaxy Explorer remake, Black Seas Barracuda remake and the Lion Knights castle 2022 are perfect sets to me : no stickers, a lot of prints, minifigs and no licensed theme. Just Lego perfectionism. And than there is the Lego Deathstar... I am a fan of the original trilogy (have them on Bluray) but I will never buy a Lego Starwars set : too expensive. For €1000 everything should be printed and minifigs with dual moulded legs. They even didn't bothers to include C3po with the dual moulded leg who is available in the buildable C3po. I'm curious to know how the sales of this set are.
  5. I just prefer regular pirates without the fantasy Oh wow that looks fantastic!
  6. For fantasy pirates we allready have pirates of the Caribbean
  7. We did get the better version I think
  8. Classic pirates and classic space are not popular enough to invest money in for the Lego company. Castle is the most popular theme from the classic themes...but Lego is Lazy. They just give us 4 new factions, a creator castle and that's it. They rely on amateur designers to design sets for their BDP program.
  9. Inflation is a means of the system to keep the rich ,rich and the poor ,poor.
  10. Yep, me too. I never liked the fantasy era from castle. Also not a fan of Lord of the Rings despite having Rivendell on display. Human villains are far more interesting in films than Orcs ,White Walkers and what not.. Emperor Palpatine, Darth Vader, ( Starwars) King Joffrey , Cersei,(Game of thrones), the Sherrif of Nothingham ( played by the great Alan Rickman ) in Prince of thieves. Biff, Griff, Buford (Back to the future) They are all human and interesting villains. Blacktron and Wolfpack are excellent villains. Now we need SpacePolice 1 come back to arrest the Blacktron! Non human villains are too one dimensional ,too boring, too evil, just being evil for the sake of evil. Human villains are not 100% bad , they have emotions , motivs and so on ,interesting character development and so on
  11. From I was a child I really wanted to see a ancient Rome theme. With senate, centurions, soldiers and ofcourse enemies like Egyptians , Carthago/Hannibal, barbarian tribes ( Kelts, Germanic tribes ), Judeans... It definitely would be popular among adults
  12. I mostly have good experiences in Belgium. Just one time a very bad experience.
  13. I also did other hobbies like martial arts and later on salsa and Latin American ballroom dancing.(samba, cha cha, rumba, jive, paso doble) I quit them after many years because they are physically very demanding. But If Trump needs some dancers for his new ballroom... I can still move my hips with Latin music.... Lol
  14. At 13 I was also still heavy with Lego. Girls ? You can't play with them because they don't know how to play with Lego castle and pirates.Even at 14 in 1993 I was with Lego. It's the year I visited Billund and it was the year of the Dragon Masters and Jurassic Park! With 15 I left Lego for videogames and girls... I discovered you can play with them....but differently.... Now at 46 I left videogames and women ( sorry to many bad experiences and I don't care about relationships anymore) and I am back to Lego. However, with Lego raising prices every year ( shopping street €250!) I'm more and more interested in alternate bricks...
  15. My friends and me considered them as mortal enemies : English and French. The Bluecoat flag even has the fleur the lys and is similar to the flag of Quebec. A symbol of France. The redcoats are English . The patriot, last of the Mohicans, Napoleon are some movies that it made obvious.
  16. Damn you're a Redcoat? I never liked Redcoats. Bluecoats for me
  17. Yes it has more pieces but you cannot see it in size. So more smaller pieces.
  18. €250 for a regular modular on a standard baseplate seems a bit overpriced. Is Lego raising their prices again? €230 was the previous price for a regular modular.
  19. The modular looks good. Nice angles. Reminds me of Boutique Hotel and Assembly Square. But I am out for collecting modulars.
  20. Amazing ships What did you use for the sails? Is it paper?
  21. Duckbricks and Bricksie are exceptions as Lego collectors. I don't think anyone is close to their collection.
  22. Never?! That would be a dirty move by Lego.
  23. We need Black Knights with their oval wyvern shields come back ! To quote Daenerys Targaryen in GoT season 2 : where are my dragons !!!!!
