Or is the UCS gunship an exception to that obviously nonsense "It lego and gunship durr" rule because you specifically don't want another one? Hmmmm i wonder.

The last republic cruiser was 900 pcs so it's not outside the realm of possibility but i'm still not getting my hopes up for a cruiser lol.

Well the vehicle Padme was on as she landed on scipio was a republic cruiser. It's possible. It'd also make a lot more sense than a specifically coruscant guard gunship. Though if it would sell as well? No idea. That'd be better for me specifically, i'll gladly grab a big red republic cruiser and wait for the plain white gunship. Not too optimistic on that though.

Speculation? not quite, an alleged former employee is saying that they saw the parts and that it was mostly red with no green. We have no real way of knowing if they're legit until it's either refuted by someone who is more trusted or until it's revealed.

Honestly I have a distaste for pretty much all the "not a giant grey dorito or sphere" types of UCS sets so i'm definitely biased. They do definitely care about stopping people like MandR from buying 300 of their battlepacks at once but they have a limit of 5 on the AT-TE which i would say is more than reasonable. I cannot imagine a scale of army builder who needs more than FIVE AT-TEs, what kinda mocs do you think we're making Lego damn. So they're definitely aware of people who buy multiple BIG vehicles for their armies, but it would be unreasonable to expect them to cater to us but c'mon don't make me wait 20 years lego pls.

I never had the 2013 one, does anyone know how many clone troopers I can violently cram into it? 30 would make it minifig scale. Well I hope they're willing to hear my clone trooper army building butt complaining about it for the next decade then cus I am not buying that oversized overpriced hunk of junk that was the UCS gunship. And that's coming from someone who is more than willing to buy that venator coming up. The UCS Gunship is simply, scientifically stinky.

If the UCS Republic Gunship is "quite literally the same thing" as a playscale classic gunship then we have nothing to complain about because if size and detail aren't a factor then all those microfighter/polybag gunships we've been getting are "quite literally the same thing" So let's not pretend that different product lines are the same thing, just because they depict the same thing. Otherwise the Jedi and Clone Troopers Battlepack would be technically a gunship.

I wonder if lego would consider making basically the same build as the Coruscant Guard Gunship but in white, with door guns and Episode 2 figures after the coruscant one retires? The real issue i have is I don't know if Lego is going to continue with their current 10 year gap between these kinds of things. Hopefully it was a blip caused by the sequel trilogy and now lego would maybe make the larger clone wars vehicles every like 5 years instead of 10 because WOOF that's a long time to wait for arguably the most iconic ship in the clone wars, considering it's been 2013 since we've had one already. I don't think the UCS gunship should count here because it's very clearly not the same thing.

I may or may not end up buying like 10 of those swamp speeders over it's life span. I like me some clones. I'd actually buy multiple gunships if it was a normal one but if it's coruscant guard I'll probably just get one. I don't see much need for so many of such a niche version of the ship. Venator I'll buy when it goes on a slight discount, nearer the end of it's lifespan. Unless my impulsivity makes me do it sooner lol.

For literally like 30 seconds in I think season 6 of the clone wars, yes it did. The source seems pretty adament that there was a lot of red but they didn't actually see the full build (I think they saw the parts?) So it's super sketchy right now.

Hey when they only make these things every bloody 10 years (or in the AATs case 5 years) you'd want them to be damn near perfect cus you're either gonna be stuck with an annoyance for 10 years or waiting another decade for them to just get it wrong in a different way.

I think if people think that all clone wars fans should or do just parrot the same opinions they should consider watching a little something very few people know called STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS a show which goes over how even people who are genetically identical, brought up in the same environment and literally programmed to be like each other ended up having a broad range of viewpoints, skills, experiences, personalities, desires and values.

Also of note that if lego had looked at the source material for 2 seconds and looked at their build for 2 seconds they would have noticed that they put the side cannons on upside down. Easy fix but c'mon lego.

# of sets according to Brickset for 2013 and me just kinda counting for 2023. 2013 had 7. 2023 has 501st Battlepack, Yoda starfighter, Rep. Gunship, Venator and 2 Clone Helmets EDIT: and swamp speeder(hehe i forgot it). So 7. Although I do recognise that like 4 of the 2013 ones were poly bags.

It's tied for 5th with 2013 according to Brickset but obviously it's the biggest in a long time.

Considering that that person was dead set on there being a 332nd Battlepack in august, 2 whole weeks ago. I'm gonna say they definitely know something.

Considering that some people aren't A. Willing to just go buying $300 poorly aged builds from like 2013 B. people who had rich parents who bought them all the original gunships when they were kids or C. Are unfathomably ancient enough to have been an adult with spare income at the time of those original sets coming out I'd really prefer if they just made an updated Gunship. I'd probably still buy a Coruscant Guard one but wellllll, i'd buy more than one of a normal updated gunship. But i'll probably have to wait until i'm like 35 at this rate. It's really annoying for me personally because it seems like a trend these days for Lego "hey we made a 501st legion set with 3 501st troopers and a jet trooper BUT it's $10 more than a normal battlepack and you get nothing significant for that extra 10 bucks" "hey we made a clone wars AAT set BUT it looks terrible, it comes with 1 clone and a jedi that's available in a cheaper set anyway" "hey we made a republic fighter tank with niche clone troopers and a really good Windu figure BUT it's a horrible design and you need to mod it 7 different ways to make it look passable." And of-course we could be completely wrong about the upcoming sets shortcomings, im just basing it off what we're hearing.

I hope the talk of it being a coruscant guard gunship is fake/wrong because that'd be so annoying.

For people worried about the Rex issue, Promobricks has been saying "we'll see him in another set within a year" since the beginning.

Promobricks has just confirmed on Instagram that this is not fake. I hereby revoke my comments that lego hates TCW fans and 2023 is a golden age of lego star wars for clone fans.
