Both factions get buildS? plural? What is in this damn superbattlepack lmao? If anyone else had said "oh yeah there's gonna be a $30 super battlepack with 4 clones and like 6 droids with multiple builds" we'd have laughed at them. But in renown and promobricks we trust. -

I am also someone who likes to lore accurately army build. It is not an art form. Nor is it something you should be elitist about. How can you combine creativity, imagination AND canon? Canon is canon. Your imagination is worthless when you're just mindlessly following canon. Sounds like YOU'RE the one lacking creativity. I say that as someone who builds armies featuring lore-accurate unit sizes, officer ratios and customises them as such according to canon. The difference between us though is that you seem to have a holier-than-thou attitude about the way you arrange your toys. Have some self-awareness. If the average army builder likes to just buy hundreds upon hundreds of the same piece of plastic and put it on a baseplate and it makes them happy who are you to call their way of doing things "depressing", "repetitive" or "superficial" I'd say if you're gonna buy a hundred battlepacks and spend hours putting the figures onto a baseplate, (which takes forever) you're pretty bloody passionate about it. This is the single most depressing thing I've ever been exposed to in the LSW fanbase and lemme tell ya, we have some real scary depths of depressing takes in the LSW fanbase. -

"Awful for army building" Their base armor is all identical all the way up the rank structure. The phase 2s don't have visually distinct sergeants, lieutenants, captains or commanders. (and majors and generals are not canon) They have a base armor (the plain P2) and then they put their legion paint over that and then high ranking officers get to add pauldrons, kamas, visors and other stuff. All of which you can do to any troopers you like. For example I have 42 212th Minifigs to make up a platoon, My 36 generic troopers are visually indistinct from the 4 sergeants because that's accurate to the on-screen material for phase 2 and my first and second lieutenants have kamas and range finders. If we got a P2 Battlepack with just plain P2s you could literally make ANY officers or specialists you want, you'd just need to add in the accessories yourself. Which I would say is 100x better than getting a battlepack with 2 regs, a clone officer with ugly printed kamas and printed pauldrons and some random p2 battlefront rip off design like a specialist. Especially when the actual ratio of troopers to officers in the command structure is 36 troopers and 4 visually indistinct sergeants to one or possibly two lieutenants. And then 4 of ALL THAT before a captain even enters the picture. My point being, officers make up like 1% of the army in SW, if we're counting sergeants (who have no notable visual distinctions on screen anyway) then it's like 10% officers. Even 1 officer in a 4 figure battlepack would be a waste because we can make (much better looking) officers out of plain troopers with accessories anyway. I've done it with my 212th and my 187th. I would have done it for the 501st and 332nd but we got a battlepack with 501st officers in them and I might as well use those figures for something. Though I added my own kamas. Now if we were talking Phase 1? Then we have a reason to care about officers because they would all require new printing. Even then IMO we shouldn't be getting anything above a sergeant in a battlepack. Save Lieutenants and Captains for actual sets. -

2024 is the 25th Anniversary of Lego Star Wars right? I wonder if the Super Battlepack might be a 25th Anniversary branded set that works as like a double updated pack of the 2007 (yes im aware that's not 25 years ago, nor were the 20th anniversary branded storm trooper battlepack updates 20 years after their OG version) battlepack with 2x P2s, 1x 327th, 1x Coruscant Guard, 4 Battledroids and 2 Super Battledroids. Presumably with a lil turret, barc speeder, staps and the mini PAC build. Could they fit all that into 215 pieces though that's the thing. That is ASSUMING that the apparent "up to 10 minifigures" is true. Pure DISGUSTING speculation but I do think that'd be really cool if they did that. Also presumably for $30 the Grogu's escape isn't JUST gonna be kelleren beq and grogu on a speeder bike right? We might see more shock troopers in that set lol. Personally i'm not against lego putting the same clones in multiple sets, just makes it easier to get a good amount of them. -

I despised them as a kid too. Honestly it might be a hot take but even as someone who mainly buys clones and CW era stuff. I don't mind the lack of cloth stuff. Now as an adult I do like the cloth stuff but as an adult I can recognise 3 things: 1. Lego is for children who think differently from us. 2. Third party sellers who make much higher quality cloth pieces exist. 3. Paying like $100 one time to get all the capes, kamas, pauldrons and accessories I could ever realistically need in any style I want is not that big of an issue for a hobby that already costs a metric crap tonne to be a part of. and it's not like it even breaks my mostly purist sensibilities, the fabric pieces aren't lego pieces to begin with it's just some cotton. All that said, if ever there was a figure to make an exception to lego's new policy on clone waist capes, it would be the one in a $650 set. Buuuuuuuuuuut it'll cost me a dollar to fix that so i don't really care. -

I swear I remember one of the promobricks YT channels saying that we should expect Rex to be in a cheaper set within 12 months of the venator. I can't find the comment because its an old video and i don't have the patience to scroll through it all lol. Sooooo you might get your wish if you wait longer -

It's kinda just a guess but the september sets we've seen so far are available for pre-order. We tend to see the pre-orderable sets earlier than the non-pre order sets. For example we saw the spider tank and the N1 microfighter AGES ago but we didn't see the rest of the august wave until a couple weeks or so ago. I imagine the Coruscant Gunship wasn't really considered "hype" enough to justify a pre-order and therefore, we'll see that revealed in august. Which would be fair because the T6, the Ghost and the E wing vs Shin Hati are all based on a hyped up coming soon TV show, same with the mandalorian sets that are on pre-order but The Gunship is just a clone wars set, probably not enough impulsive hype train nonsense surrounding it to make a pre-order set up worth the effort. I also imagine they wouldn't do a pre-order for some random OT set like the Yavin 4 base for similar reasons. -

I'm calling the 2024 Winter Wave now, I think we're losing the Hoth AT-ST, The Boba Fett Starfighter and the Tie Fighter at the end of 2023. I think it'd be wise to assume they will continue to keep AT-STs, Slave Is and Tie Fighters on shelves and just rerelease them again in 2024. Different versions sure. But those again I'd guess. Maybe a regular AT-ST with Endor Han, a Slave I with the Mech Boba Fett and just another generic tie fighter. Though i'd wouldn't be surpised if Lego just didn't because we already have the Tie Bomber and Interceptor on shelves. Note to moderators: This is not wishlisting, because this sounds awful to me lmao. -

I do find it humorous that Disney's own innaccuracy of making Ahsoka's Lekku too small (according to the lore and the pre-established look we had in rebels. And yes I know it's because whats-her-name couldn't do all the moves with such a large headpiece, it doesn't mean it's not an innaccuracy) and Lego's own innaccuracy of making Clone Wars Ahsoka's Lekku too big in the AAT and Duel On Mandalore (again, according to the lore and how she looked on screen) means that I can now take the lekku piece off of CW and the new Ahoska, swap them around and actually get Clone Wars and Rebels mostly accurate ahsokas. Although the headband piece on both of them is pretty much wrong for either era. Whether on their original body or the new one. But I'm more willing to ignore that since it's an item of clothing which she could take off and swap around as she pleases. Unlike her actual head. Not perfect but hey, it'll bother me slightly less. -

I have a great deal of questions about the sabine wren figure on the box of the jedi shuttle. I may just be not remembering rebels but an interesting story point is certainly revealed on that box, and I'm not talking about the inquisitor here. -

Lego Exec 1: "you know that one thing we keep trying to do that everybody hates?" Lego Exec 2: "Luke's Landspeeders?" Exec 1: "Well yes but I meant buildable figures" Exec 2: "Oh yeah of-course, what a disaster those were. Those Jyn Erso one's are STILL clogging up shelves 7 years later" Exec 1: "Wanna try and do a $200 one and start with a furry mostly animalistic creature we can't depict out of mostly square pieces of plastic? Oh and we'll make it one of the most literally ugly characters too" Exec 2: "You're a genius!" Exec 1: "Great, I'll also give the idea over to an intern from the coffee shop across the street so it costs us nothing to design" Exec 2: "muhahahaha" -

Hi, I'm a pedantic Lego Star Wars fan. I obsess over the tiniest of details and accuracies. I'm that guy. AND EVEN I HAD TO STARE AT A PIC OF BOBA FETT FROM EPS 5 AND 6 FOR LITERALLY 5 WHOLE MINUTES TO NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE that's something that Lego definitely cares about and would put effort into making a unique version of for an ROTJ set in current year, yep 100% They definitely haven't shown how little they care about screen accuracy at all. Say what is that swamp speeder doing in the streets of mandalore, and why is vaughn completely wrong, wait a minute we only saw the tie bomber in ROTJ for like 9 seconds and Sloane wasn't even in that movie, what's that spider droid doing at the battle of utapau, and when did Palpatine and Padme ever ride a red gunship, and the 187th troopers were never purple in canon, and hang on a second we never saw a tie interceptor fight a fang fighter, and wasn't there a cyborg operating that spider tank, and when did boba fett, vader and stormtroopers use mechs, and when did we ever see a hoth scout trooper, and Tala never wore that oufit in that scene and Obi-wan never fought those 3 inquisitors, and there were no artillery troopers in that scene, we never saw any sith jet troopers, and Ahsoka and the 332nd never fought battledroids, and rey never fought a knights of ren transport and.. Does everyone get my point by now? that's just the made up stuff that lego has done since 2020. Anyone who thinks Lego wouldn't put an episode 5 boba fett in an episode 6 set is literally insane. -

"we've had 3" yes and many of us were 6 years old, 9 years old and 15 years old at the time of the 3 turbo tanks we've had and as such didn't have hundreds of dollars to buy one (or several). I *could* buy one of the old ones for like $400, I *could* part out an older one for like $100. But then what do I do when they inevitably make one as up to as early as 2024, Spend a further, let's be real, $150 on one just because i didn't have the patience to wait for the next one? And then what happens when I wanna buy a second of the new one. I've spent like $700 on turbo tanks and one of them is a decade old. The most expensive spare parts i'd ever buy. This isn't a one-off set like the inferno squad battlepack, it'll happen again so I'm absolutely not buying a retired one. Also we ARE getting a UCS venator (well, we're like 90% sure) which I would imagine is definitely the ultimate version of that set no? -

This boba is ALSO from Episode 6. He could be in a Sail Barge, a Throne Room Diorama and a Skiff. Also they could put him in a Slave I. We've had a new slave I every time the last one retired for the past few years now. So a 2024 Slave I is actually pretty likely. Also they can do something with Bespin, or a super star destroyer bridge diorama with Bossk, Vader, Dengar and 4Lom. (all from ep5) My point is, Boba Fett can appear in a lot of sets. He's arguably top 3 most beloved star wars characters in history. They can fit him in. My other point would be: they rarely make a brand new figure just to put it in a $16 set. I'd put money on that rumored throne room and sail barge being made with him in mind but it fell through or was delayed and we got the mech now. When they DO do a new figure for a cheap set like Vaughn or the Snow Scout Trooper, it's usually just a subtle variation of an existing figure. This would not be that. It's a whole new Boba Design. -

yah but Lego knows that even kids don't like the kids sets eheheh Lego would have to be smoking a PROFOUND amount of psycho-active drugs to make the Republic Gunship a Lego exclusive. The Republic Fighter Tank isn't Lego Exclusive though. It's available at Tesco in the UK or Walmart in the US. Not sure about everywhere else. Maybe an Amazon exclusive but the rumor mill is leaning towards the Ghost being the amazon exclusive.
