It could be the key chains but IDK why they would be so worried about that -

I'm actually (probably the only one) gonna buy that Yoda Starfighter. I don't actually have one so I'm happy to see it, even though i'd have preferred pretty much any other clone wars/ROTS set at that price point. -

You really put 442nd up there in the same breath next to 501st, 327th and 41st. -

I'd almost put money on them never making galactic marines, atleast not unless they make an appearance in Bad Batch. As it stands, they are only in like 15 seconds of ROTS and were never seen in any other canon star wars material. And the only time we've ever seen them in relation to lego was the DS version of the Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. ALMOST, put money on it. But here we are with purple 187th troopers for no apparent reason other than lego knowing purple clones would sell like hot cakes. So never say never. As for 327th, i'd gladly accept them too. But we haven't seen them since 2008. I don't know if we ever will see them again. -

Okay but hear me out. Yoda was on Kashyyyk in ROTS, working with the 41st Elite Corps. My fantasy design for the swamp speeder since it's not called a battlepack, which suggests it has a named character would be: Luminara, 2 Scout troopers and 1 clone troopers. (all 41st) My thinking is that lego might want to let people recreate the whole Kashyyyk scene, hence why Yoda is getting a starfighter so soon (the fighter wasn't in the scene but it's the easiest way to get him on the market) PERHAPS with a turbo tank coming in the near future? with a Commander Gree and some named wookie? Baseless, gross, disgusting, pure fantasy speculation. But it'd be logical and I want that specifically to happen so I'm gonna dream about it until lego crushes my dreams with a swamp speeder with 2 Nimban storm troopers, a Solo era Han Solo and Chewie or some other absolute lunacy instead. I'll be utterly perplexed if lego decides to waste their Phase 2 Captain Rex ace card to sell a $25 set that would sell itself with 4 generic troopers. -

Honestly I think the context of the sets can help a lot. I have to imagine the snow troopers pack out now (which doesn't even seem to be selling fantastically at the moment) would have sold even worse if there wasn't also a hoth rebel blister pack, a "hoth" at-st and 2 AT-AT's to fill available at the same time. I honestly didn't know the rebel/resistance sets sold poorly but i can kinda see why. The rebels themselves were always shown as a bit of "The bad guys will now wipe the floors with these guys so that it looks cooler when Han and Luke kill them all" kinda role. We were also never really presented with huge standing armies of rebels so that desire to have loads of them would be low. But I am curious about battle droids. Yes, the B1 Battledroids are not gonna sell a battlepack today because we get, judging by my collection, 39.5 of them from every Clone set BUT surely commando, super and magna guards would be able to sell a battlepack? I could see a specialist droid pack with like A magna guard, 2 commandos and a captain selling okay but maybe that's just me cus I really like the clone wars and desperately want more droid-themed sets. I have all these grey and red vehicles lying around then I have my sad collection of small beige skeletons as their opposition beside them. But that's an issue for another discussion. Do you all think a seperatist droid battlepack with droids we haven't seen in a decade would sell? Or is there a reason we haven't seen them since 2013/2014ish and I'm just a weird lil' guy with strange star wars tastes? I would add that I think it'd need a second battlepack to help it along, maybe some type of clone battlepack. I'm thinking it'd be mostly kids who would ask parents to buy them some bad guys. OH or a split battlepack like with the 2012 Elite Clone vs Elite Droid pack? -

My guess would be that they want to try and space them out for long term reliability knowing they're some of their most reliable sellers. How often can they release the same kinda battlepack? Let's say the main battlepack themes are/could be: Clones (501st, 212th, 327th, 41st, 91st? 187th? (sorry investors) 104th?? Coruscant Guard??, shiny white bois. All in Phase 1 or 2, or airborne with even specialist options now apparently too.) Droids (Battle, super, commando, magna?, assasin, Droideka maybe?) Rebels (Hoth, Fleet, Endor, Battlefront) Storm Troopers (scout, snow, sand, shore, death, shadow) Resistance (very very distinct from rebels of-course) First Order Storm Troopers. (Flame, Jet, Sith, Those guys with the stunny things) Mandalorians (Super commandos, death watch, generic/differing clans) So there's no shortage of themes they can potentially sell. Definitely 10 years worth of 2 packs per year. So unless they don't want to repeat battlepack themes for like 30 years (which would be insanity) they have no real idea limitations for packs. I can only imagine that they're testing how the sets sell when you only make one. Do they sell the same as 2 packs at a time? Do they sell less but make more profit due to not having to produce/design a second set? Do they have a set amount of money per year they can charge for their entire line and apparently think we need 3 helmets 1 display set and 3 mechs rather than swapping any of those out for a battlepack? Questions i doubt anyone outside of Lego themselves could give an answer too. Has anyone seen any interviews talking about why they went down to 1 pack/year? On the plus side, if the mechs don't sell well they'll hopefully bring the second battlepack back (after trying 5 other dumb things first of-course) oh and maybe bring back an extra microfighter per year. IDK why lego doesn't just always sell those 2 types of sets in VS themes. (Stormtrooper and Rebel battlepacks, X wing microfighter, Tie Fighter microfighter, all released on Jan 1st of a year for example. I can't see that not being a beloved wave that would sell well) -

While these things aren't set in stone, we can predict a storm trooper battlepack WILL happen again at some point (NOTE: this is not a leak, it's just a prediction). I mean I doubt they're gonna give us 2 clone battlepacks in a row and since they're doing 1 battlepack a year now, i'd say there's a solid chance of getting a storm trooper battlepack next year. It's entirely possibly that they may go the route of the AT-AT and release a battlepack to go with a set coming this year, which could be the rumored Yavin 4 set. Wouldn't be surpised if we got a rebel battlepack next year to help fill it out and maybe some kind of cheap storm trooper army builder to go against it which may give you better value for your money than those mechs, even at $10. Right now i'm looking at the stormtrooper which comes with the 2021 Tie Fighter which I think is the most recent storm trooper design, we also saw it in the 2021 Armored Marauder and on Bricklink those figures are going for roughly $5 each(slightly more if you want the ones from the marauder as they have different figure heads from the TIE but the outside appears the same) . Assuming that's the figure you want in the mechs you could be getting 3 of them for $15 on the secondary market rather than spending $15 on the mech. This is of-course all based on me assuming the 2021 Tie Fighter is the most recent Stormtrooper design, I don't pay much attention to the OT sets so I could have missed one. Even still, im sure a brand new printed trooper would still come in a battlepack or cheap set some time in the next couple years. It's also based on me thinking Lego would do things in a fairly logical way but here we are in 2023 with a bunch of non-canon purple clonetroopers on the market before a new gen of 327th or 41st Elite, which I would not have been able to predict given a hundred tries prior to that set release. -

Honestly my hope that Rex is kinda involved in some way with the Ahsoka sets (maybe a flashback rebels era scene or something, maybe with a blue y wing hehe) and then the swamp speeder is just some 327th or 212th or maybe 41st elite corps (if they fix that horrible scout helmet) pseudobattlepack maybe with a named character like Bly, Cody or Gree that prevents them from just calling it "Extra expensive 327th clone battlepack lmao" after the backlash from that Jedi and Clone battlepack. ---At this point i kinda just deviate from the message i'm quoting and go on a rant about army building--- I think i've had my fill of 501st Clones for a couple years atleast. I'd also personally really hate for the speeder to be like Anakin, Rex, a 501st Trooper and a wookie or something weird like that. I'm kinda considering my lego budgeting for August around the idea that I might be buying up to 10 of those speeders and i'd hate to be left high and dry on that. I really want a real army builder set this year. The 501st Battlepack seems like it's just a cash grab to capitalise on the last dregs of goodwill from that original 501st pack. Does lego really think most of us want an army comprised of officers, heavies and snipers? and that we're gonna buy 5+ of these? It's certainly not ACTUALLY supposed to be promotional for SW:BF2, a game that came out 6 years ago now. They're cool but i'm not gonna build a 501st Sniper army and have like 50 of them. They're a nice addition, in-fact the officer really makes me want to see more of those kind of troopers in future but it's disappointing to me as someone who just likes to accumulate standard clones and droids (and sometimes other figures like storm troopers or rebels) but an army builder set, they are not. Despite the fact that there are 3 sets with multiple clone troopers available in retail and legodotcom right now, none of them are really "clone army builder packs" The Tank is £40 and you get 2 clone troopers, 3 if you actually do want to build a 187th airborne army, which fair enough if you do lol. Which isn't the best way to accumulate a lot of figures especially with all those extra Windu's you'd have, that sucks for kids and collectors alike, only really benefitting investors(which I assume lego doesn't cater for?) The AT-TE is £120 and it comes with 3 clone troopers (not inc. cody) All those figures are going for £10+ on the secondary market rn. And the 501st battlepack, while lego will probs disagree just isn't an army builder, it's an army supplement if anything. So despite having 3 whole sets with clone troopers in it available right now, it feels like I can't actually build armies of clone troopers for any kind of reasonable rate. Again, lego may disagree but my hope is still there for a true army builder battle pack in that swamp speeder. Although for us Europeans we can get those foilpacks of 212th Troopers in magazines later this month which i'll definitely be doing just to get my battlepack hit. So my fingers are crossed for it just being an army builder style set with a silly name out of fear of backlash and/or so they can put the price tag up on it ever so slightly. (It's like £2 more than the 501st (current) battlepack) -

I think if you compare it to the other sets in that same "display" line like the helmets it does seem a bit more reasonably priced. They're all +18 display sets, they cost the same. It seems fairly logical. Now if the prices of helmets are also way too high in your opinion then I can see why you would also be annoyed with the Destroyer. I personally just don't really like the helmets or the destroyer.
