  1. That is a sucky way to do a cheap yoda tbh. Would it have killed them to do like a Snail Tank with a few battledroids, chewbacca and Yoda if they were absolutley dead set on putting him in a $30-35 set? It's not like a starfighter from 3 episodes of the clone wars is any more iconic than any other clone wars era vehicle and this would give us that much needed CIS set. (Pls lego, give us anything. I have just over 100 clone troopers, 2x AT-TEs, a bunch of jedi vs Greivous, 20 battledroids and a couple AATs. My shelves look very silly.)
  2. Seeeeeeeeeeeriously. I don't get the common internet conversation starter of "AM i the only person who X" when there's 3 pages of people doing X before they started talking. They've been talking about it on instagram, youtube, reddit, everywhere and someone will still come in and think they're the ONLY person criticising something? on the entire planet? really? Similarly Revenge of the Sith is several galaxies ahead of the second best film. Objectively. Please everybody take this post very seriously. To add something somewhat meaningful to the conversation other than my trolling, does anyone know if the upcoming Yoda Starfighter includes THE EXACT same yoda we already have? If so that's a very strange choice. Why would they make it if they have legitimately nothing new to offer except a slightly larger cockpit?
  3. why would you want the dobby legs? they're just wrong, that said if you do want that exact figure just buy a dobby for like $2 and rip its legs off and put it on a yoda.
  4. well they were right about the set existing so i have to imagine they will be right this time lol
  5. To whomever was adament that the swamp speeder wasn't going to be blue: AHAAAAAAA TOLD YOU
  6. I can't wait for the inevitable brain rot of Mandalorian vs Dark Trooper Duel Mech set for $30, or the $16 R2D2 mech or my personal favourite a 501st mech going for $20 because "those clone fans will eat anything you give them". If you buy these current mechs YOU KNOW, that is the slop they'll serve up to us. It's what they did with microfighters and helmets, you know it's gonna happen here if you encourage them. if I see a full shelf of unsold 2024 Lando Calrissian mechs on sale at Tesco for 90% off in the year 2035 I'm going to come back here and show you what YOU did to this world by giving lego an inch. You can go on bricklink and buy a storm trooper for $3. You can get vader for like $10, and you can just wait for Boba to be in another set and he'll also be like $8 What's "on offer" here is literally nothing. They look terrible. You can't exactly play with them 1. because most adults don't play at all, and 2. kids are gonna be able to reinact their favourite star wars scenes, ya know, that duel between darth vader and a singular storm trooper, very action much iconic. You're being overcharged for a figure. That's all it is. There is no reason for anyone to ever want these. They are pointless. They are ugly. They are buildable figures 3.0. But ya put a damn minifigure in something and LSW fans inhale the damn things as if they're not gonna buy the $60 sets with those figures in them anyway and end up with duplicates. Then they'll complain that that some minute detail is wrong with the figure they own 4 of. "reeeeeeeeee the phase 1 clone trooper has 6 lines not 5 an- IS THAT A FREAKING BOBA FETT MECH, I'LL TAKE UR ENTIRE STOCK" literally, because they're gonna buy 30 of them at full price, put them up to $30 and claim that lego investing is dead when nobody buys one, and then their friend is gonna complain that there's no stock for the set and absolutely cry themselves to sleep over it because they can't wait 9 days for them to restock. Because the LSW fanbase is simply the worst. Myself included.
  7. I think the relative prevalence of Gree (in that he was in 3 sets as his P2 self) just comes from Lego loving to make sets out of the battle of kashyyyk, Have to imagine those big grey Clone Wars vehicles are hits with kids and adults alike and the most prevalent scene for AT-APs was Kashyyyk and Turbo Tanks only featured in that scene (until an ep of the clone wars) That said, a 327th AT-AP is right there Lego. Give us like an AT-AP with Commander Bly and a couple of 327th Troopers and a Homing Spider with a couple more and Aayla Secura and you're just printing free moneyyyy. (Atleast if they wait til like 2025, im not sure if the community is a little fatigued on AT-APs and Homing Spiders since they are the most common clone wars era vehicles they make. BUT I wasn't there at the time so i personally wouldn't mind. ALLLLLTEEEEEEEEERnatively they could do a 327th AT-OT, again they might need to wait a hot minute on that because there might be a little fatigue from the current AT-TE. And of-course as you said they could have done a 327th Swamp Speeder. I honestly don't think the swamp speeder idea is off the table because I have to imagine this 501st(332nd) swamp speeder will be blue and pretty meh so they could certainly wait for it to retire and make a more interesting build out of a classic swamp speeder with 327th clones in it.
  8. Well we got the Cody (with slight modification), it seems like we're getting the Rex, and it's esseeeeeeeeentially confirmed (through some leaked part pics) that we're getting the Fox. That game also showed us the Palpatine we're getting (according to promobricks). We also saw Wolffe and Gree in the game. So probably. BUT we also saw Luminara Unduli with a blue lightsaber and a recoloured Imperial Scout trooper being used as a 41st Elite Corps clone. So it could also just be nonsense made by the game company. Assuming it's real I'd put my money on Wolffe coming in 2024, as well as Rex in a cheaper set(Promobricks said "we should see him in a cheaper set within 12 months" in the comments on that original video from april 1st where we got doubled pranked (meaning it was all real)) Then i'd guess we get Gree in a 20th anniversary ROTS set in 2025. Hopefully a turbo tank. I do also hope we get a Commander Bly in like an AT-AP or AT-OT in 2025 that'd be really nice but we haven't seen evidence of a Lego Commander Bly existing yet. =( We seem to be getting a lot of named clones so I could see Lego trying to get all the major ones out in the next couple of years in time for the new movies to start taking over the waves. We have Cody, we're getting Fox, Vaughn and Rex, we've seen a Wolffe and a Gree. And I REALLY REALLY hope we get a Bly. Bacara and Neyo would be nice but they're even more niche than Bly. Atleast Bly and Gree had arcs in the clone wars. Bacara and Neyo are on screen for a combined 10 seconds or something, although Bacara can be paired with a notable vehicle (UT-AT) and a well known Jedi (Ki-adi-mundi) and it wouldn't take an insane amount of work to recolor the snow troopers as galactic marines. Neyo just has barc speeders, a relatively unknown jedi (Stass Allie) and his clones would need a new head mold so im not sure if Lego would bother with him (again)
  9. What was the exclusive part? And it's not that I only want a promo to be a figure (though it is the best kind of promo IMO) it's more that I don't want the promo to be a dark stone grey blob. I certainly would have cared less if the other promo was actually ya know... lego... and not a coin? or whatever it actually even is, i own it and i've looked at it and i'm just perplexed by who could have thought people would want that. (for anyone reading along and is confused why i bought it, i was buying an AT-AT w/ double VIP points because i couldn't find a discount, so i kinda just ended up with the promos) I'm not claiming the promo was a cash grab, im just calling it dumb. They certainly made some new nonsense to make that DS plan thing so it clearly took some real effort and money to make it. Would it not have been VASTLY easier and better to just do a minifigure? Do a slightly updated ROTJ Endor Han. Boom, easy better promo. Reuse head, reuse hair and make a han solo figure with the green trench coat he wore during Endor. It just seems so obvious. We've got pretty much everyone who was in ROTJ available this year aside from Lando, Endor Han and Nien Numb. Nien Numb and Lando could have also made great promos. Alternatively we could have had a number of Jabba's palace scene characters but i'm choosing to assume all the fluff involving the UCS sail barge and throne room diorama disrupted that in some way. And that's not even mentioning the 20th anniversary Clone Wars promos they could have made this year to just print free money. Step 1: put red markings on a phase 1 clone trooper, call it Captain Fordo, instantly sold out to 2003 clone wars nerds, it's SO EASY it's enfuriating that lego seems to work against itself at times. Alternative: Take episode 2 anakin, replace chest with the bare chest and arms, print blue tribal markings on it and his face, give him a gold hand. 2003 TCW Anakin. Figure would be highly desirable and would be worth like $1000 in 10 years to the 3 people who really really like TCW 2003. AND That's not even accounting for the 2008-2020 clone wars figures they could have made to easily print money. HELL they could literally just do a plain phase 2 clone trooper and in the current climate people would eat it up. But no we got a grey blob which is (apparently) 99% bricklinkable and a coin nobody asked for.
  10. Yeah it's fantastic you can sell it for $35 to someone who missed the sale and wants it for some reason. VERY strange way to give out giftcards there Lego, I really would have preferred something i couldn't make on bricklink for 1/10th the promo requirement though. Got it as a bonus to my AT-AT w/ double vip points so i can't complain too much but damn it's worthless lmao.
  11. I'd argue people would freak out more. They didn't fix it for like a year and a half and they decide to fix it for an advent calendar? So the only way to army build correct 212ths would be like $40 each? Screw that. I hope lego just moves on from the blunder. The time to fix it was in the first couple months of the AT-TE. Now people have like 40 of these figures because that's just what the 2022 style 212th looks like for better or worse. I'd really rather they just kept 212ths out of sets for a few years, made some new legions (preferably with correct prints lol) and then in like 2030+ we see a new Republic Gunship (or even another AT-TE if the design improves enough to justify it) with correct 212th figures and maybe a new style of helmet or maybe arm printing. The way i'd love for lego to handle it is just to make most of the well known (or just visually interesting) legions in the 2020 style (+helmet holes or not i don't personally care) like the 501st ✓, 212th✓, 332nd✓, Coruscant Guard✓, Wolfpack, 327th, 41st Elite Corps, Plain P2s and MAAAAAYBE 91st Recon and Galactic Marines if lego's feeling a little whacky. Then in like 2030, make a new design that improves in some way (Arm printing, hip printing, better hole placement) and run it all back again. You'd have these distinct generational clone designs with most of the popular clones available. You could say "oh these are my 2005s, these are my 2014s, these are my 2020s and these are my 2030s" Some people would be super upset at having that current clone design for the next 7+ years but hey, it certainly seems like a loud minority who actually care because it doesn't seem to be hurting sales so far. Just a few whiny youtubers who will always whine regardless of what lego does, looking at you Mandr for whining about the UCS X-Wing Luke Skywalker not having a little printing on the side of the head despite being one of the best looking figures in a while.
  12. I think it is kinda sucky that we don't seem to get many sets from anything after it's done unless it's one of the Episode 1,2,3,4,5,6 and the clone wars. Like the chances we ever see someone like Kanan Jarrus again is just so low because Lego seems to ditch the newer stuff once it's done (hell they even seem to have dropped the sequel trilogy and that was a big deal for a while) I have to imagine it's indicative of sales in some way. Maybe the only sets that still reliably sell after the fact are the ones based of the main 6 films and the clone wars. Hopefully in like 5 years we'll see a little bit more love for stuff like Rebels, Rogue One, Bad Batch, Mandalorian (assuming mando isn't still going at that point) and the sequel trilogy. I know we had a big gap between lego clone wars sets and then Season 7 came out and they seem to realise what a profitable IP it still is. I'm not saying I want a 2024: 10th Anniversary Rebels Wave but a 10th anniversary set with Kanan, classic ezra, kallus and mando style sabine would be pretty cool. Mainly i'm worried about not seeing some very cool figures again just because there's no where to put them in current sets. Death Troopers and Shore Troopers in particular strike me as too cool to just do once.
  13. "nope argument over i win, no more talking i win don't talk to me i win LALALALALALALA NOT LISTENING i win i win" I know we're all fans of what is a kids toy but i expected the tiniest bit more maturity in response to something you don't like. My response was lengthy but it was hardly a "meltdown" Mr B.Rickwall.
  14. That sucks and all but like, if they're charging $30 for a star fighter with 2 figures, they're going to increase the price if they add more figures. That's how it works whether you like it or not. You can complain all you want but that's the realistic eventuality. Atleast here, if they're upping the price you're getting more for your price rather than them just slowly adding $2 every year and adding nothing. You can kick and scream about it all you want, Lego isn't on your side. You want more figures you pay more money. My preference would be getting niche things into circulation. If that costs me an extra $10-20 a YEAR (considering they'd be making a max of one of these starfighters each year) I'll gladly take it. It's cheaper and better than having to go buy old awful looking figures for like $30 each. If you're not willing to pay $40 for a yoda starfighter with 3-4 figures IDK why you'd be willing to buy a $30 yoda starfighter with just yoda and R2. That's the dumb mindset to me, NOT asking lego to use their limited release slots more effectively. If you're not gonna buy it either way, why even mention it? Seems like if cost is an issue, neither of those sets are worth it. But for those of us with the extra income a $40 set with 3-4 figures is objectively more worthwile and better value than a $30 one with 2. It's not like im saying "Duuurrrr lego keep putting price up i keep buying anywaya nyaha consoom product" im asking for a better product and im willing to pay more for it. If you think Lego should make better products and charge less for them, that's nice and all but where have you been for the last 300 years of human history, when has any company ever done that. If you want to force lego to change more towards that maybe stop buying their awful $30 star fighters until they actually do make it worth your while. But here in practical normal land I'd suggest an outcome that benefits both parties. We get better stuff, they get more money. I'm not gonna be alive for a thousand years to see Lego eventually dartboard their way to giving us everything we want so if I have to pay $10 extra to actually get the product while i'm alive. I'M GOING TO.
  15. I really wish Lego would give the prequel era starfighters the OT treatment. What I mean by that is packing it with related characters that really aren't going to appear in a set any time soon. They were almost onto it last year by putting Taun We in the Obi-wan Fighter but they seem to have regressed this year with the Yoda Interceptor (apparenly just yoda and R2) Why don't they just bump up the price on these sets and throw in 2 more interesting characters? I'd gladly pay $40 for a yoda starfighter if it also included 1 or 2 extra clone wars era figures that are unlikely to end up in a set soon. For example the $50 X-wing gives you Leia and Dodanna as it's kinda wildcard figures, the $65 Tie Bomber has Sloane and a Gonk Droid, The $45 Tie Fighter gives you an extra storm trooper and NI-L8 (I can excluse that being 3 figures because most of these sets are padded with an astromech anyway) there's plenty of other examples of Rebel and Imperial ships coming with the expected pilot, astromech and cool niche named character (Raddus, Connix, Porkins, Goss Toowers, Dodanna, Moroff, Bistan, Sloane, NI-L8, You're telling me these are well known?) Why doesn't Lego just bump up the price and give us extra figures in the prequel ships. Doesn't have to be flagship characters you could sell a set with i.e im not suggesting they put Count Dooku and Captain Rex in the yoda starfighter but put like Luminara and a wookie (ROTS related) in there or something. We only get so many sets each year with Lego and generally not much of it is dedicated to the prequels (this year being a welcome exception ofc) so it makes total sense to use those prequel starfighters they do almost every year to give us figures we might not get to see in any other prequel sets. For example what set could you realistically put Plo Koon in? His starfighter, a wolffepack gunship and a republic vehicle of some kind. But which of those are likely to happen any time soon? we're probs never gonna see his starfighter again, we're not getting a wolffepack gunship for a very long time (if ever, i'd be staggered if that actually ever happens) and there are too many more scene accurate Jedi you can put in republic vehicles (Luminara, Turbo Tank. Aayla, AT-AP etc) So it just seems like a Plo Koon figure is going to be a very unlikely future character. So why not put characters like him in the starfighters? He can't sell a $150 set himself but he can make a $30 set worth $35, add in another similarly unlikely character like Shaak Ti and you have a jedi starfighter with 3 jedi and an astromech for $40 hell, $45-$50 wouldn't be unreasonable if the build and figures are particularly pleasing. Lego definitely gets that the $40-$70 starfighter/ship range is the prime place to just throw in random niche figures but they don't seem to want to put in the minimal extra effort to do it with prequel characters. You may say "oh well nobody knows who those nicher clone wars characters are, the general consumer wouldn't care" but that argument doesn't work, we got General Dodanna, V.Admiral Sloane, NI-8L, even if they might be visually recognisable, Barely anyone knows who they are. Certainly not the parents buying X-wings for their kids and certainly not the general consumber buying an x-wing for their display. So those figures seem to exist because Lego knows it'd be cool for AFOLs. So why waste the prequel ships on just pumping out yet another jedi starfighter and one of the 3 jedi they still make them for accompanied with R2D2? At the very least it would stop them from releasing an almost duplicate set like with the yoda starfighter.
  16. We're still not sure about the other ahsoka set (the one that isn't her shuttle)
  17. Well if lifebricks is correct, then it's not a figure so it wouldn't be that. IDK What it could even be if it's not "brick built" or a figure (according to Lifebricks). It must be something pretty original to be lego but not include bricks or figures lol. All I can think of is some kind of like special sticker sheet? Maybe something to customise the UCS gunship or something? It could be a singular brick of some kind but idk what kinda brick they could think is worth an $85 gwp. Maybe part of a minifig that would otherwise never make it into a set? some kind of amazing cape? GAAAAAAH the tension.
  18. I'd want Mon Mothma since we're literally getting the Yavin IV Base and she's not in it for some reason. We can save Dexter for the NEEDED 30th Anniversary of AOTC UCS Dexter's Diner in 2032 and YES i said UCS NOT MBS. It must be 7000 pieces, the size of your average coffee table in footprint and about 3 feet tall. It will come with 2 figures. Dexter Jettster and a spare Dexter Jettster. As he obviously has a clone and that's why he knows the Kaminoans. And unironically we could save Nien Numb for the next Millenium Falcon. I don't see them redoing the Home One set from 2009 and I don't see them remaking the Yavin IV set for a very long time so giving us Mon Mothma as a GWP would be very nice of lego. As a side note, Lifebricks claims to have images of the GWP but he's waiting for something (IDK what) before he can upload his video. EDIT: If he's not wrong, then apparently the $85 one would be top 5 of all time. Which knowing lifebricks means one of 3 things: It's something to do with an imperial shuttle, it's something to do with babu frick or it's something clone wars related. IT BETTER BABU FRICKEN NOT BEBU BABU FRICK
  19. It's* not going to be Babu Frick, Lifebricks just loves Babu Frick and is trolling. *probably
  20. Would have been IDEAL to start with that.
  21. He's gonna get everyone excited thinking it's a Gar Saxon figure he's such a troll sometimes.
  22. He didn't say it wasn't a figure. The $150 GWP will be a brickbuilt death star The $85 GWP is currently unknown but we know it's not something brick built. The $35 GWP will be an Xwing polybag. This all according to Lifebricks' instagram.
  23. Ack if you'd waited until May you might get extra VIP points on that at the lego store. It could be 5x vip points (basically 25% back) if Lego happens to pick that as one of the sets for it. Not a discount per se but it's some money back to spend on more lego later. That's what i'm waiting for before buying one. Hoping they have 2x vip points atleast on it and the hoth trooper battlepack. He also claimed it was a non-brick built top 5 GWP of all time. Which is interesting.
  24. The difference is likely accidentally cosmetic on the part of George Lucas but according to legends lore they are actually different vehicles. The visual difference is a smaller head, longer legs, closed windows and longer cannons on the hoth variant. It's not HUGE but my question was more just a case of "if they're going to make a slightly more iconic version next year, i don't want to buy the hoth one now." Purely for space reasons to be honest. And the wishlist part was so i could put it on the wishlist thread cus i wasn't sure where else to put it. I still think it'd be a solid set though. Also there has actually been a full scale AT-ST on shelves each year since 2016, we had the Rogue One 75153, which retired and was immediately followed by the first order 75201 which was followed by the AT-ST raider 75254 in oct 4th. 2019 (probs for spoiler reasons, but we went without one for like 10 months there) and then that was followed by the Hoth AT-ST 75322. Patterns are a fools game when it comes to Lego but an at-st (of various variants) in each year since 2016 is not something to ignore when considering the question of if i should buy a hoth one. (and yes, im counting that awful first order at-st in this because lego clearly did too.)
  25. I'm not 100% sure if this is the correct place to ask this but it's vaguely wishlisty. Do you guys think that we'll be getting an AT-ST when the current hoth one retires? I'm looking at the life spans of them on Brickset and since about 2016 lego seems to have pretty consistently kept an AT-ST on shelves, the day after one retires they release a new one. With that in mind should I bother getting a hoth one since im starting an imperial collection or should I wait and see if they put out a new standard variant in January 2024? Could be a very good continuation of the 40th Anniversary of ROTJ to release an endor themed one. (I know technically it wouldn't still be the 40th anniversary but you can still celebrate 40 years of ROTJ into next year really) For the sake of the thread staying on topic: Endor AT-ST($60, £50, €60) Maybe like 650 ish pieces. Comes with a classic ROTJ Style AT-ST (we haven't had a full build of one of these in quite a while, even longer for one with appropriate figures) Figures: Chewbacca, 2x Ewoks(named versions or not it doesn't matter to me really), 1 stormtrooper* and an AT-ST Pilot. The extra pieces compared to the Hoth version would be for some random nonsense for the ewoks. So yeah basically, the AT-ST Juniors set but actually worth buying. *If lego wanted to absolute wild they could include a Iden Versio who was technically on endor and would probably give the set that little bit of extra spice compared to the juniors version. Oh and if i'm wishlisting: Endor Battlepack($20, £18, €20): 2x Rebel Commandos vs 2x Scout Troopers** presumably with a speeder bike and some kind of heavy blaster emplacement. (I don't care particularly) **The reason it's 2 scout troopers is 1. Because I highly doubt lego is going to put a storm trooper in a battlepack at the same time as a mech. and 2. because if it had a storm trooper it'd be identical to the 2012 endor battlepack and while i'm sure we'd all be fine seeing an updated version Lego would probably be afraid of that.
