Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
Rwbricks replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
I totally agree. As one of the dozens of major Age of Ultron fans, I was hoping it would be more of a mix, if not more AoU inspired. Hopefully the rooms we can’t really see include the lab and Vision’s cradle, but given the lack of Quicksilver and especially Bruce, I wouldn’t bet on it unfortunately. All that being said, and ignoring my nitpicks with the minifigure selection, the outside of the tower is just beautiful. I can see why they didn’t include the base, and to me, it looks as good as it could. I can’t wait to at least see it in person. -

TandNBricks did a Q&A, and when asked if this theme is returning in 2024, they said that “Indy is done for now.” It doesn’t come as much of a surprise, especially since we haven’t heard anything for a while. In the end, while this comeback was very short lived, it produced some amazing sets. I’m really happy with what we got. -
Wait a minute, this list is fake! I can tell because the 4+ Batmobile is cheaper than the one we got this year.

Both the last two Marvel Modulars have significant minifigures not shown on the front of the box, so hopefully that’s the case here. That and I want it to include Ultron and Quicksilver. On a separate note, looking through the double doors on the bottom floor, it almost looks like there’s a minifigure with a black hood. Is that just me? -

I believe that the initial rumor said it would be “MCU/Age of Ultron based,” likely meaning Age of Ultron will be the primary reference. To be fair, though, Age of Ultron explores the tower the most out of any of the films, so it would make sense for it to be the basis. -

A High Republic minifigure would be great. Marchion has a unique helmet, so he would be cool, but I’m not sure he’s popular enough to warrant one of these slots. Talzin I can definitely see coming, especially with the Great Mothers from Ahsoka looking pretty similar. On the other hand, maybe if the Great Mothers are planned to come in an Ahsoka set later down the line, they might not make Talzin. -

Finally our chance to get Constable Zuvio!! In all seriousness, going by ST characters that look cool and wouldn’t really fit into a regular set, I would love Sidon Ithano or Ochi of Bestoon! -

It will be interesting to see the difference in scale between the Venator and the Invisible Hand. It’s cool that we’re getting more capital ships now, though. Hopefully Home One isn’t far behind. I agree about the system scale sets. I really hope these two are not the only ones to included these anniversary minifigures, but even if they are, it’s great to finally be getting them. -

From what I can tell, we know of two sets in January (75372 and 75384), five in March (75375, 75376, 75377, 75379, and 75387), four in May (75378, 75380, 75381, and 75382), and three unknown releases (75374, 75388, and 75389). Given this distribution, it would seem that March would have the most opportunity, but there are always the unknown ones. In 2019, I believe the 20th anniversary minifigures came out in the May wave, but those were all system sets, which we don’t have as much this half-year. Additionally, one of the January sets is a 4+ set, and one of the May is a UCS set, neither of which seem too likely to me to have an extra minifigure, but you never know. Overall, this is very exciting. Hopefully this will be a good opportunity for us to get characters that have long been requested. -

There were 22 in the initial rumor, and Kevin and Ultron mk 1 make 24. Hopefully this means we’ll get characters that seemed to be missing, such as Loki, Bruce Banner, Coulson, Hill, Selvig, and some of the Iron Legion, with potential room for more. -
It seems to look that way, yes. Hopefully, though, if this is B:TAS based, then we might see minifigures in system sets. Mr. Freeze isn’t present in the line-up, either, but he would be very cool to get.

I’ve had that, too. I’ve played around with the tightness of the axel and bushing, but haven’t found any obvious remedy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. -

It is not confirmed. I think we know most of the first half year sets, so if more were to come, they’d likely be in the summer. -

I am once again asking for the Exegol Duel. Not taking into account its general reception, it’s strange to think that LEGO has not made the final duel of the main Star Wars saga despite it having been out for nearly four years. -

Me, my brother, and a friend bought a set of 36 from a fresh box, emptying the contents of the presumed new box. We got: 1 Wolverine 2 Mr. Knights 2 Hawkeyes 2 Goliaths 3 Beasts 3 Storms 3 Kate Bishops 3 Agathas 3 Werewolf by Nights 3 Moon Knights 3 She-Hulks and 8 Echos. That means either we were extremely unlucky, or 3 full sets are not guaranteed. Or there was some cross-contamination with other boxes, which is the likeliest story. -

Breaking news: The Avengers Tower has been cancelled, and will now be replaced with a brick-built Venomized Outrider statue! Also, the price has gone up to $550. (This is a joke, please don’t get any ideas, LEGO). -

Unfortunately, there seems to just be too many options and such limited space. We have just a few system sets in the winter/spring release window, and then we get a pretty good sized wave in the summer. However, there is always new material that warrants sets, so it doesn’t seem like we will be getting the years of filling in the gaps like we did in the early 2010s. There’s always the pull between sets based on new material, sets based on things that we have missed, and remakes of things that we have already gotten. Personally, I can list a multitude of sets from all eleven theatrical films that I would still like to see made, and then still more that should/would/could be remade. With all of the shows and games, too, there’s just too much. Then the question of competition comes into play. Do I think Dex’s Diner would sell? Yes, I do. Do I think Dex’s Diner would sell better than a Droid Factory or a remake of Bounty Hunter Pursuit? No, I do not. Would I like all of them? Yes, but that seems unlikely to happen. All that being said, the Naboo Royal Starship and Exegol duel are still at the top of my list. -

Hopefully this isn’t too wishlist-y, either, but I think including the concept art versions of the characters would be not only really, really cool, but also a different enough way to get variants of the main characters. This wouldn’t work for every character, and it might not be received too well since the argument could be made that these versions don’t technically fit with the film ones. Luke Starkiller in the Skywalker Saga game gave me (farfetched) hope, though, and even one like Boba from the Holiday Special would be amazing. -

I can’t remember if there was an earlier list of set numbers, but 75373, 75377, 75383, 75385, and 75386 are missing from this new list. Then again, there always are some random numbers that are just skipped, so we’ll just have to wait and see. The sets revealed sound mostly good. We get a battle pack, a 4+ set, two midi-scale ships, two buildable droids, two dioramas, and two system sets. That’s a fairly good balance, and aside from another, albeit smaller, buildable R2, they are all mostly new and interesting. Now just to wait and see how well they turn out. -

That makes a lot of sense, and is honestly pretty cool if it’s true. I remember watching videos of people’s microscale MOCs of various scenes from the films going through the franchise, and being able to recreate that somewhat would be really neat. -

Pictures of the Millennium Falcon holiday set can be found in the usual place, a tiny bit better quality than usual. It’s mainly just the seating area of the Falcon with the bench for dejarik and the hallway entrance. Hopefully it includes the dejarik board, but there is a Life Day feast on the table instead, as well as decorative lights and a tree. Rey finally has a yellow lightsaber, and Finn has a blue one, so that’s neat, though it’s hard to make out their sweaters. Chewie, BB-8, and the Porg are the same. Overall, it’s a cute holiday display piece, but probably not worth $40. -

*intro music* LEAKS! in the LEGO community. After months of hearing that CERTAIN MINIFIGURES would be coming in the UCS VENATOR, new intel, in the form of WATERMARKED IMAGES, have been found! While the fans enjoy these PILFERED PICTURES, the LEGO GROUP conspires, determined to find the source of the leak…. *fading violin* -

It’s interesting. Not necessarily something that people were asking for, and not something that I will be buying, but I don’t hate it. It still looks like Chewbacca, and I am not quite sure how to do it better at the same scale, That, though, leads to the matter of scale and corresponding price and then back to the question of whether it is warranted and if the set itself wanted. Especially based on the reaction today, this will not be a good seller, not to mention the $200 price tag. I like the use of the lipstick pieces for teeth, though, and it looks like the torso is angled in relation to the legs, which could be neat. Overall, it is not a set I will be buying, but I will enjoy looking at it in the display at the LEGO Store. -
I already said this in the Marvel thread, but there may or may not be a leak of the new Marvel CMF. In it, Storm’s hair would be perfect for Livewire. You know, if they decide to include characters other than Batman and Joker.
