  1. I really do wish these specials would get some sets for Marvel - the Star Wars one gets its own little wave, and these have the potential to be total minifigure goldmines. That Klawe and Vision alone, even just one per set, would totally sell basically any set for me.
  2. oh, I meant for the Iron Man figure himself - the one they used in the Iron Man Vs Thanos and Iron Man / Hulk bike set just saying I'd want, ideally, a more traditional look in the brighter red and gold that Ant-Man/Firefly helmet is basically perfect for Ultron though, good call
  3. Crazy excited for a comic-based Ultron figure. They'll probably just reuse the generic Iron Man we've been getting this past few years, but I'd love to see a more 'classic' version too
  4. In most comics Hulk isn't that big either though haha I understand the appeal of bigfigs, but imo a middle ground like the Nexo Knights Axl figure, videogame Mr Incredible figure, or all the knockoffs/customs that go with that scale would be better. Jin Custom did a fantastic Venom in that sort of size, and I think that's kinda perfect for these characters. He probably will end up being a bigfig regardless, just because it's such an easy way to add play value, but I'd prefer a different style personally, bigfigs are usually WAY too big compared to the characters they're representing
  5. I don't think Ben really has to be a big fig - he isn't THAT big. He's a very large guy, but he's only about as big as is possible for a real person to be.
  6. This info from Exabricks, if anyone's curious. Supposedly $55
  7. I've always been a bit of an MCU defender in that I don't think many of these films are great or anything, but I don't think that many are THAT bad either. There's a lot of fun to be had with most of the ones listed, I think their worst offences are excusable in that they're not particularly important to the overarching story. That being said, I think RDJ as Doom is a historic miscast (and really strange, given how faithful they seem to be going with the F4?) - I think he's a great actor, and given Marvel Studios' track record I know they were never gonna get an actually Romani actor for Doom, but nothing I've seen with RDJ in really says he can do Doom, to me at least. Incredibly different energy. I can't help but think that this is an incredibly rushed decision to try and salvage this saga and get general audiences on side again, because imo Doom needs WAY more build-up. F4 has enough on its plate with Galactus and I doubt Doom will appear otherwise before Doomsday, so is he just gonna... show up? Can't be around for long either, knowing RDJ's fee. I'm probably biased as a big Doom fan, but I think they're really doing one of the coolest villains in fiction wrong with this move, and doing it out of desperation at that. I'll probably check out after F4 until the actual MCU X-Men show up, but will absolutely sit back and enjoy the LEGO sets haha
  8. Yeah, I think it might actually be over, true believers.
  9. Definitely agree. I'm pleased with this if it means we get the missing characters from that movie... but I would be happy with any of the million 'Endgame final battle' sets being the last Endgame final battle set if any of those did that. The 2021 set was fair enough to actually get a solid Thanos and to get the main characters in their actual outfits. Past that we just really needed Ronin, Iron Patriot, maybe Nebula They just keep not making anyone new, which is the frustrating part. At least this one should be more visually interesting, I like how the portal scene looks a lot.
  10. Iron Spider getting an update is great. I'd love to see the Iron Patriot MK2 and maybe the Ronin suit also here, it's about time we get both! Iron Man MK85 and Scarlet Witch feel like easy reuses to me, maybe Thor and Cap too if they still have those prints around. Edit: A new Rescue figure would be great too
  11. I mean, even not thinking about kids - there are 18+ sets that are marketed basically entirely towards adults. They could quite easily do something like slip Deadpool into an 18+ set around now (one of the 'helmet' sets?) to capitalise on the movie. They didn't, so the problem is more likely the character himself and not how much interest there is in him. And if course this isn't substitute for actually market research, but anecdotally, I had the 2012 chopper set as a kid and immediately took to Deadpool, despite having not really seen him in anything. Just a cool looking character. I also remember the movie coming out and being popular amongst kids who weren't actually gonna watch it. 'Adult' stuff is often really captivating to kids (see the amount of younger teens who really wanna play Grand Theft Auto)
  12. But also if the character WASN'T a problem, we would've gotten some vague tie-in set with a comic/TAS/whatever Deadpool. They know how much money it would make. I think SDCC is a bit of a special case because it's so limited and not really promoted to kids. Since the movie released, Deadpool has been gone from standard retail sets, gone from LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2, even outside of LEGO, gone from cartoons targeted at kids. Movies are the main problem, but the character being basically known only for them is something that is clearly having an impact.
  13. The X-Mansion not being revealed at SDCC is kinda hilarious to me I know it's a ways off, but it's only a month out from the Mario thing they announced there, and the X-Mansion actually has something to do with comics . Y'know, at comic con. Maybe the real school for gifted youngsters was the friends we made along the way
  14. Honestly I don't see it coming with any - if these big 'item' sets come with figures, it's always just one reuse, like with Mjolnir and Cap's Shield - and other times they don't at all, like with either of the gauntlets.
  15. Since Gwen was in the Peter car, I could see them doing like... Venom car
  16. Fateful on Instagram says 11 sets for Superheroes in January
  17. I feel like a big problem with the state of LEGO Marvel is a misunderstanding on LEGO's end about what there's actually a market for. Marvel is about the CHARACTERS. Not really anything else. All these vehicles are well and good, but with the decline of the location playset (and the decline of villains, or figures in general in these sets), it has me wondering if they've paid any attention to how kids play. Obviously anecdotal, but every kid I know, (including a younger me) has the most fun with superhero sets when there's a conflict to be had with the figures and an environment for that conflict to take place in. For me, the old Daily Bugle was my favourite set to play with because of that - couple villains, couple heroes, very playable environment. In recent memory, there have been SO many vehicles (which frankly don't have the appeal they do in more vehicle-centric IPs like Star Wars) and sets that just omit villains (and therefore conflict) entirely, and it's completely baffling. I'm sure most people, even among value focused AFOLs, would accept smaller and simpler sets if they had more play features and more importantly more (and better!) figures. I doubt there are many Marvel fans who collect primarily for the builds.
  18. Reusing heads for everyone except the characters people want a head reused for (CMF Hawkeye??)
  19. I can't for the life of me think of an example, but I'm pretty sure that around this time most years we start to get at least vague rumblings of the following year's sets? It is a little weird how early it is in the leak cycle though, for sure.
  20. It was in Exabricks' channel on Instagram. If you're not aware of them they're kinda like DMs that one account has with a bunch of people that only they can send messages too, everyone else just views and reacts - he posted a gif of the airport battle there. If you are aware of them - my bad!
  21. Could have been pushed back further, but I believe the Brave New World set is on track for December?
  22. This is what I just can't understand about Marvel sets lately, the relative lack of villains compared to years past. Kids LIKE having bad guys to play with. Especially for a theme like this where good guy / bad guy conflict is like the whole point. Even if it was a random brick built robot, no additional figure required, I'm sure kids would enjoy this set more.
  23. Hulk is the same from the mech armour I believe
  24. Honestly, I'd much prefer a minifigure scale set, even if it means less of Asgard represented, but it's such a great idea for a model, I'm kind of amazed there hasn't really been an Asgard set in any capacity yet. Warriors three, Sif, Heimdall, Odin, Hela, maybe some Frost Giants? Would be gold for figure selection. And I'm sure the set would look incredible if they could find it in their hearts to budget for recolours in drum lacquered gold hahaha I know we're just getting a Surtur, but a larger one just from the torso up breaking through the bridge could look awesome too, more in scale with the NWH Sandman.
  25. I don't expect it or anything, but I think there's a solid chance - Magneto is basically THE X-Men villain (and LEGO certainly seems to agree), so having his actual villain suit in a set that isn't a mighty micros or 12 years old would just make sense to me. Would also explain how reuse-heavy the X-Mansion seems if Jean, Xavier, Morph, Gambit and Magneto are all new. I also feel like dual molded + printed legs for Cyclops is more or less a guarantee, because Morph's costume is designed literally exactly the same way for their legs. It's one more piece, but it can be used on two figures. And yeah, I really hope that we get more sets with more seasons, or even more for this season! A Sentinel in a 2025 wave would be fantastic, or more CMF places if they bring back the Marvel CMF. Nightcrawler especially could use the CMF treatment. I believe '97 season 2 is already either recording or wrapped recording for its voice acting, so I could see it coming later in 2025.
