  1. I think you're spot on that this is what leakers are seeing - I do wonder though, why don't they say 'x amount of/ x specific figures are in contention' for a given set? Like, for the X-Mansion, however many are in whatever prelims I'd imagine they're seeing, and then say that only about 10 will actually be included. That'd make WAY more sense to me than what I can only assume is making an educated guess on the final lineup.
  2. I feel like it's almost guaranteed it's their first suits. 1. Like half of the set's figure selection is already wearing them. Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops and Magneto at least, maybe Storm and Beast could be reused, so why either remake them when there's a perfectly good figure already, or have half and half wearing different sets of suits. Plus, if we have Morph, they could use one new leg print for both them and Cyclops. 2. The second ones are arguably much less iconic 3. Did LEGO even know about the second suits when this set began production? The only toy company I've seen to produce an alternate suit for anyone has been Marvel Legends just with Magneto's classic red.
  3. LEGO is weirdly insistent on revealing its D2Cs very soon before release, I don't get why. Most other major toy companies reveal products pretty much around the time they're being finalised, if even that late. A lot of people don't have the money immediately available to drop hundreds on a set, and sure, most of the time they're around for a while, but when they incentivise day-of purchases with GWPs and that kind of thing it feels like a kinda lame move to not let people budget that far in advance. Everyone who would buy a three hundred dollar LEGO X-Mansion is going to do it anyway, it's not like there's a particular hype cycle to maintain like with videogames. I just don't get it.
  4. Honestly, given the dodgy licencing situation, LEGO X-Men has done REALLY well, imo. Wolverine, Deadpool, Magneto, Cyclops, Storm, Rogue, Beast, Firestar, and then the X-Mansion figures? Arguably, and I know it's only really because of '97, X-Men have done better than any of the other major Marvel teams in terms of their classic designs. Take the Avengers - the Cap design we have is kind of awful, the only comic Iron Man suits are Invincible and the weird visual dictionary one, and we don't even have Ant-Man and the Wasp.
  5. I'd throw Blade into the 'without dates' category even if it currently has one, because there's no way imo that it won't continue to be delayed haha
  6. Yeah, I was just talking about villains in that part.
  7. I'm not sure it's a myth when they've missed all those you mentioned, didn't include Wanda in a retail set for MoM, and out of every Disney plus series, ONLY produced Agatha (who is getting her own show) and zombie Captain America (who, if we're being real, barely counts.) NWH also only got its villains late, and it wouldn't have if it wasn't a Spider-Man thing that is sure to sell. If any other movie had most of its villains as spoiler villains, it'd be 'too bad' and we'd never see them. Unless you count Warlock, which I really do think is tenuous, zero projects in phase 5 have received their villain as a minfigure. Zero shows in phase 4, and the movies are hanging by a thread with the Sanctum D2C and the late NWH sets. Maybe 'completely abandoned' isn't exactly fair, but when the D+ series are a part of this universe, and you can glance over at Star Wars and see its D+ series getting whole WAVES, I'm sure you can get why people feel like this. Even on the film side there's an annoying lack of villains, if not a total absence. I think the bigger problem that this stems from isnan annoying lack of interesting characters, full stop. When we get a movie, we're only really guaranteed to see all of the leads. Secondary characters don't get any presence nowadays, which is a real shame. I'm sure people would be less hard on the GotG3 sets not including the High Evolutionary if we got, say... Kraglin, or Phyla-Vell, or Cosmo(... or a version of Groot that has any effort put in). Even in the Infinity Saga sets, we keep going back to the same basic casts of the six original Avengers, the four original Guardians - it's been discussed to death here, but how ridiculous is an Age of Ultron wave without... Ultron? I think people are just tired of going 'maybe next year' for characters that no other theme would have to give a second thought to receiving.
  8. I believe he's been reliable in the past, so if not a straight up leak, I'd class it as a strong rumour. But yeah, 10 figures does feel very low for a set of this price, considering how many are reused. Compare it to Barad-Dur, which sure, has the same number for a higher price, but only 2 are reuses, and there's a ridiculous number of new molds (plus basically everyone has leg printing) That being said, the figure count of 10 has been the one consistent rumour from the larger accounts about this set. I guess this lineup is pretty close to the complete original TAS roster? Minus Jubilee. The abandonment of villains in the Marvel theme (apart from Venom) is super strange though, for sure. The Marvels, Quantumania, GotG3, MoM (at least in terms of standard retail sets) and probably others I don't remember all didn't even get their main villain. I wonder if we'd even have gotten Magneto if he wasn't (more or less) one of the X-Men in '97. I do have high hopes for future sets/CMF places for the X-Men, though. The Blackbird seems to be selling pretty well despite its price, the X-Mansion will undoubtedly be a slam dunk, and the show has been renewed for two more seasons, I believe? I'd almost go as far as EXPECTING at least one or two more sets next year.
  9. For these characters? Ehhhh. If Magneto is in his red suit, the helmet would have to be a new mold, I doubt they've kept the old one around. Could also see him using a recolour of the new plastic capes.
  10. Morph does make sense to me, assuming they decide to print Cyclops' legs, because they share an identical design for their suits' legs.
  11. Kind of a bummer, but not surprising. Any idea if any of the reuses are new in some capacity? Like, I dunno, Cyclops' legs?
  12. I believe I saw somewhere that it was delayed to this December Honestly, I really doubt we see any Deadpool adjacent sets ever again, let alone a character specifically from one of his movies. Maybe they throw Dazzler into a more general X-Men set at some point down the road, but I'd bet money against anything directly related to the Reynolds movies releasing.
  13. This design is so strange to me, it's simultaneously kind of perfect and really strangely underdetailed. Something like this, but... actually with muscle detailing would be great haha Edit: I know this will most likely not happen, but I would LOVE to see a few random licenced characters appear in the LEGO Fortnite sets.
  14. Yeah, I totally understand why it wouldn't be modular, but I have to say I'm still a little disappointed - as someone else here said, even if it's not technically in a city in-universe, I'd have liked the option. I'll probably end up modifying it to be a modular, because I really don't want a whole different display outside of my city. I don't believe a figure list should be that far off considering TandN was able to say with some certainty that it's specifically 10, whereas before there was a little ambiguity as to the specific figure. I'm REALLY hoping that all of the figures are in their start-of-season suits, not the new ones. Obviously the reuses are safe, but a part of me worries about the others...
  15. TandN Bricks on Instagram, who is generally very reliable, has posted a few details to his story regarding the X-Mansion • He believes it's a stand-alone model, not a modular • Only 10 figures, no more • The survey leak image was 'super unfinished' and it 'has to change the most' from that • 99% sure the set will be specifically based on '97 (which would again mean the build would be very different to the prelim) Mostly stuff we knew or could guess, but something approaching confirmation is nice. Apparently we'll see the Helicarrier and 4+ Iron Man set in early July, but they're 'nothing to get hyped for'
  16. That is actually hilarious, I just had a look on Facebook and he's the same guy as a user on Instagram I've been seeing here and there for ages - and yeah, of course he doesn't actually know anything in terms of leaks 😂 With the Quinjet comment, though, do you guys think some people genuinely don't know that their minifigure boxes come with a model too?
  17. I do wish that they didn't do all the extra lines, and used normal blue, but minor nitpicks when the alternative is several thousand dollars haha I feel like it's almost guaranteed we get a symbiote suit, even if not a comic one, in SM4 or Secret Wars sets down the road Besides that, there's Jean, who again, even if not specifically Phoenix, I'd put money on being in the Mansion The only exclusives I'd really like to see get a wider release beyond that are Spider-Woman and the Collector, both of which I don't see happening particularly soon. If we were gonna get Collector at all I think the big Milano would've been the place for him, and I just don't see a big Knowhere set happening. Spider-Woman I guess could show up in one of the generic Spidey sets? But the fig selections there are usually super boring so I won't expect it.
  18. Not the person you were asking, but my immediate thought would be a version of the MK6 without the battle damage
  19. I suspect they'd reuse her - I know it's not exactly a one-for-one thing, but I would assume that they'd rather have her bleed into the set from the CMF and then use the new prints to make a new character than just make another suit.
  20. Am I the only one who prefers the Avengers Tower's Leviathan? Even disregarding price and value proposition, the newer one just feels clunky - more like an alternate build using two of the old one than one designed to be a different scale from the ground up. Figure selection doesn't particularly help it either, Hulk would be the main draw, but a pretty close version is in (imo) a better set in the same wave.
  21. On the fifth slide of this post you can see him better, he actually looks quite satisfyingly chunky to me
  22. WOW! SO much better than I expected. The AoU battle looks rough on the box art but other images look solid. The ones I'll be getting are the Milano (fantastic build, might be a little cooler than the Benetar, which is saying something), Surtur, and the Iron Legion pack. Groot, as always, is a little horrific ghoul.
  23. Might not be THE reason for MJ's exclusion, but it seems like sometimes a character being on-shelves in a different set is enough for them to be excluded. I remember an interview about the Avengers Tower where one of its designers said that's why they excluded Spider-Man and Captain Marvel, for example.
  24. The 80s contest is yet another example of LEGO Ideas breaking their own rules whenever they feel like it, and it's crazy discouraging. It clearly stated that only one build per user would be eligible for the fan vote, but in the vote, one user has two projects. No shade on that guy! They're good models. It's just really unfair to all of the other fantastic builders, imo. Not even mad I didn't get in, I can name like ten other submissions to the contest better than mine and at least on par with the others in the fan vote.
  25. Animal Crossing's August sets have leaked, so who knows how far off the Marvel ones are now
