And a sidebuild in a $40 now going for $200 would track with Lego’s price increases. 😁 Seriously though, a big sentinel display would be fantastic. -

The odd thing about the $200 D2C is the set number. 76328. There’s a 20+ set number gap between it and every other set we have coming out this year, which seems to imply it was developed later and really sped through production. That makes me think It’s related to an upcoming Marvel movie and when they got delayed Lego saw the opportunity to make a set based on it when they originally wouldn’t have and rushed it through. Deadpool seems the obvious candidate, but also it’s rated R so it doesn’t make much sense. So maybe some sort of X-Men display piece to coincide with the release? But that would cannibalize the Mansion. So IDK, Wolverine bust? -
4+ Joker’s Carnival. Include Commissioner Gordon, vacation Joker with camera, and a fun little roller coaster ride for Gordon. Batgirl will not be included. It wouldn’t be the first time something like this has happened. But it’s probably best to just assume the worst and maybe be pleasantly surprised.

Trying to revamp but just making things worse is kinda DC’s thing. -

We all know the answer. The real question is what big Marvel display piece is this gonna be? UCS Quinjet? UCS Goblin Glider? -

Right between the Daily Bugle and the Sanctum Sanctorum. Probably looking at around $300. Figure count is more difficult to gauge, but I’m sticking with my estimate of 10. -

I was definitely of the opinion that the Mansion would branch out beyond the show. However, just looking at the summer wave and how there’s no X-Men sets and looking at how Lego has handled D2C’s in the past, particularly the modular line, I don’t see us getting more than 9 or 10 minifigures in the Mansion and at best 4-5 new figures. The main cast of X-Men ‘97 just happens to be 10 characters and there are 4 characters we haven’t seen yet in Lego. That is why I think we’re just gonna see the ‘97 core group of characters (repeats of Cyclops, Wolverine, Magneto, and Rogue from the X-Jet, CMF Beast with a lab coat and new head, CMF Storm with plain legs and a new head, and the four characters we haven’t seen yet: Jean Grey, Prof X, Gambit, and Jubilee.) -

Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’d rather see Mystique, Sabertooth, and Emma Frost over Jean Grey, Gambit, and Jubilee. So I am certainty not assuming the lineup from the leak is wrong because I don’t want it to be. I assume it’s wrong because 1) it make sense for Lego to prioritize the other X-Men from ‘97 who will be on screens over characters who won’t be playing as prominent of a role and 2) as others have pointed out, the model there is likely recycled from 2014 or so when Lego may have been considering an X-Mansion because there is no way that model is close to a $300 set, even taking into account the crazy inflation we got with the X-Jet. As for your points about the public and X-Men ‘97 being potentially risky, I’d argue the exact opposite. X-Men ‘97, which comes out later this year, will probably be the most recognizable property for the X-Men at the time the mansion releases, with the exception of Deadpool which I’m still not convinced Lego will be willing to touch. -
I think the thing to consider with Batman movie legacy sets is that’s already what we’ve been getting for the past four years. The most memorable scenes in every Batman movie either center around the cave or one of the various Bat-Vehicles. The only exceptions that come to mind are either scenes that wouldn’t translate well to sets (acts of terrorism like Bane blowing up a stadium, brutal character deaths like Gambol and Penguin, scenes that don’t scream Batman such as Batman Begins training montage which is just a shirtless guy fighting ninjas, and scenes like the Joker interrogation which just wouldn’t make great sets) or are from the Schumacher films that Lego is understandably not going to touch.

Almost all of the Lego merchandise we’ve gotten for the X-Men in the past couple of years has either been explicitly branded as X-Men ‘97 based or very obviously inspired by it. That’s the main reason a lot of people are assuming the mansion will take inspiration from that and include the only four main cast members we haven’t yet seen.
