  1. I didn’t have high hopes for this, but wow, this looks amazing. I don't usually go for these art type things, but I may make an exception here. The minifigures also look great. Hopefully we’ll see more BtAS sets going forward with minifigures of this quality. I’m sure I’m not the only one with a small list of other BtAS characters I’d like to see in Lego form.
  2. Superman is in an interesting position. On the one hand, DC has been producing flop after flop and Lego has understandably cut way back on making DC sets, producing nothing for new releases since WW84, because they’re basically guaranteed to be shelf warmers. On the other hand, this is a reboot for the brand and is being heavily marketed as such which might help to revive interest. Plus, it’s being helmed by James Gunn who directed one of the only post-Endgame MCU films everyone seems to universally agree was great and the only recent MCU movie (outside of Spider-Man and Black Panther, both for obvious reasons) to get more than one set (granted, the Bowie has already been pulled, but that might have more to do with the set itself than GotG 3 sets not selling). Plus, we seem to be getting a bunch of GotG Legacy sets so they’re clearly popular and maybe Lego will have more faith in Superman just because Gunn is directing and has a track record for making popular superhero movies.
  3. If Lego thought people would buy these minifigures, they’d be using them to sell sets, not sticking them in a CMF series. At this point, either Superman and the DCU will revive interest in DC enough for us to start seeing a wider range of sets and characters or (best case scenario) we’re gonna continue to see a handful of sets per year based on old popular Batman films/cartoons.
  4. So why not just make a CMF of the versions of those characters that actually are popular?
  5. Nice. Aside from Harley, I can’t see any of these being popular. BvS wasn’t well received. SS Joker wasn’t popular Shazam never really took off. And Deathstroke was just a cameo.
  6. Probably depends on how well X-Men sets sell, but I wouldn’t count on one for a couple of years.
  7. As a Batman Returns fan, I bought it, kept the minifigures, and sold off the rest. Personally, I think the thing looks ugly and I don’t want to put in the effort to modify it into a proper Batcave. I understand what they were going for with the Shadowbox, but it just isn’t for me. I really wish we had just gotten a big Batcave play set instead.
  8. It’s supposedly being retired by the end of the year, so it probably didn’t do well.
  9. I’m iffy on the Wolverine helmet. On the one hand, it’s better than what we got. On the other hand, I can’t look at it without thinking Wolverine. Which is exactly why I’d like a new piece.
  10. King Shark is a shark! Just thinking about potential Superman sets for next year, the one thing I really hope for is a new mask for Hawkgirl. The one she had in TLBM never did her look justice.
  11. Not necessarily for a polybag per se, but Black Adam, Heatwave, Mad Hatter, King Shark, and Raven are all at the top of the list of DC characters I’d like to see in Lego. I’m actually surprised we haven’t seen them yet given the amount of exposure they’ve all had in recent years. You can’t tell me Batman fighting a giant shark man isn’t going to appeal to the average 6-10 year old. After that, it’d be Zatanna, Spoiler, Mirror Master, Golden Glider, and Weather Wizard rounding out the top ten.
  12. Yeah, that’s the last I heard. It does seem weird that we’re a month, maybe month and a half, out and we haven’t seen anything. Usually we’d see at least a minifigure part leak by now.
  13. How certain are we that it’s an April release?
  14. Agreed. There’s only a handful of characters that would look good as buildable figures and Ultron is up at the top of the list.
  15. I disagree on Guy Gardner. The character should absolutely have dual-molded legs since he wears boots. (The same could be said for a large portion of super heroes to whom Lego nonetheless chooses to give plain legs: Superman, Cyclops, most Captain America minifigures, Captain Cold, and Reverse Flash to name just a handful.) I also can’t see Lego shoving Guy Gardner in a polybag when he’s slated to appear in Superman next year. Either they’ll include him in a set or (more likely) just ignore the character altogether.
  16. Not to beat a dead horse, but the buildable figures look bad and I do not understand their appeal.
  17. It’d be great to get a couple of sets. Hard to say what Lego could give us sets based on without seeing the film, or even a trailer. I’m guessing the Fortress of Solitude will be featured, as well as the Daily Planet. So maybe the Fortress of Solitude with a couple of villains and some of the other superheroes and The Daily Planet on the scale of the 2013 Daily Bugle, or a bit larger, with Jimmy, Lois, Superman, Clark(?), and a couple other supporting characters.
  18. I don’t see why either or those should stop Lego when we’ve gotten March Harriett (escort), Killer Croc (cannibal), etc. I’d argue the bigger issue is neither one of them has gotten much exposure.
  19. We’re DC fans. We don’t support the content we get. We launch events, spread hashtags, and harass people until they give us what we want. 😝
  20. The mystery D2C is a giant buildable Venomized Morbius.
  21. I hope its characters we’ve been clamoring for for years who aren’t even in the movie.
  22. It’ll fit right in with the rest of the buildable figures.
  23. I’m hoping we get more than 5-6 sets next year since we’re getting movies for both Batman and Superman, DC’s flagpoles and still two of the most popular and iconic superheroes. edit: here’s what I think would be a solid, reasonable lineup 2 Superman Legacy sets 4+ Superman Legacy set Buildable Superman Buildable Batman 4+ Batman set (BtAS based) 3 The Batman Part 2 sets D2C Batman set
  24. Let’s not forget the big bad of the Infinity Saga got taken down by NYPD.
  25. April, last I heard. I think it was roughly $300.
