Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

Joker is a bad example. For one, he’s had plenty of PG, G, Y-7, and PG-13 exposure. Compare that to Deadpool who has had next to nothing but R-rated exposure. Secondly, we haven’t gotten a Phoenix Joker or even a Heath Ledger Joker that wasn’t in an 18+ set, despite him being in a PG-13 movie. I’m not saying we’ll never get another Deadpool minifgure, but public perception is gonna have to shift dramatically for that to happen. Especially one based on the movies. -

Whether or not they’re planning it is irrelevant to my point. Marvel will probably receive backlash if they include Deadpool in their family friendly Avengers movies. He has a reputation for graphic violence and lewd comments, and that isn’t going to change with just one movie. -

Wolverine, yes. Deadpool, no. Not to beat a dead horse, but Deadpool has a reputation and one PG-13 movie isn’t going to change his public perception. If anything, I think his presence in Avengers 5 would cause controversy for the film, not the other way around. -

Joker has also been portrayed in various cartoons aimed at children as a criminal prankster, and not exclusively as an animal abuser or child murderer. Plus, it’s the Joker. He’s arguably the most iconic villain in all of fiction, as opposed to some c-lister, which makes him much harder to skip. -

That’s an interesting theory, but I don’t think that was the issue. For Kang, I think Lego was holding off on him until the Kang Dynasty sets released. As for High Evolutionary, I think he was skipped because the things he did weren’t exactly child friendly. Don’t get me wrong, most MCU villains do things that aren’t child friendly, but High Evolutionary went to a whole other level and we saw it in more graphic detail than most. Besides that, his design is kinda boring and wouldn’t make for an exciting minifigure. -

They were. But it’s been decades since they’ve had any meaningful exposure. The X-Men, despite the embargos and a handful of bad movies from Fox, have managed to stay relevant and we’re still only getting sets for them because of the 90’s show revival. -

These are all good options. Only other room I can think of is Beast’s lab. And, if they use the movie Cerebro design instead of the one from the old cartoon, a meeting room for the X-Men. I think it was officially called the situation room in the comics, but in the old cartoon, it was just the Cerebro room. -

She was in the original series, so I’m including her as a potential character who could show up in X-Men ‘97, not someone who we know will be in it. -

There’s plenty of X-Men ‘97 women to put into a CMF - Jean Grey - Emma Frost - Rogue (the one we got could use an upgrade) - Jubilee - Spoilyn Spoilr - Mystique (potentially) - Spoilik And maybe others such as Psylocke, Kitty Pryde, Destiny, Domino, Selene, and Scarlet Witch. Not to mention variants for Jean (Phoenix) and Storm. -
Yeah, they are bad. Cyclops’ hair is the wrong color and doesn’t work with his head. His legs are completely inaccurate. Rogue’s legs should have been dual molded, as well as her arms. Or at the very least her legs should have side printing. Enough has been said already about Rogue’s hair. And Magento, whether you like the design or not, uses hair that is inaccurate and he should have had dual molded arms. Wolverine actually looks good, but he’s the only one. And we already have the superior CMF version.
