  1. Yeah, this sounds too stupid to be a prank.
  2. It’s been three years since the Daily Bugle released and we still haven’t seen comic based variants of Rhino, Electro, Lizard, or Kingpin. I wouldn’t take any of those “Easter eggs” as a sign of what Lego has planned for sets in the near future. They’re most likely just fun nods to the show.
  3. We’re getting Batman, Harley Quinn, and Joker in sets later this year, and probably those versions, so it seems only Catwoman will remain exclusive.
  4. I hope we get Luigi. Been waiting since Batman sets first hit shelves in 2006 for him to finally get his due.
  5. It’s not releasing alongside the regular wave, so it’s probably D2C. Then again, the set’s number is way higher than the rest which implies it was rushed through production, for some unknown reason.
  6. There hasn’t been rumors of any other big set, and since the X-Mansion doesn’t appear to be modular, so no, unless we hear differently.
  7. No. DC is getting a second D2C later in the year and some people are hoping it’ll be a modular styled building.
  8. I was hoping when new episodes started dropping, we would see something that could be turned into sets down the line. But three episodes in, and the only things that stick out as Lego set material are the Blackbird, the X-Mansion, and a Sentinel. So basically everything we’ve been calling all along.
  9. I don’t think price is the only issue. The X-Men haven’t had much positive exposure for the past 10 years, outside of Deadpool and Logan. A set with them isn’t going to sell as well as a set with The Avengers or Spider-Man. But X-Men ‘97 is giving them some much needed positive exposure, and, more importantly, exposure aimed at Lego’s target audience. And the longer the show goes on and the more word of mouth it gets, the more people will check it out and the better our odds of getting more X-Men sets.
  10. I feel like we’ve been through all this X-Mansion survey stuff 100 times by now. The preliminary image for the mansion isn’t going to be the final project. Every other survey leak that turned into an actual set had varying degrees of changes, with minifigure lineup being one of them. And the X-Mansion looked the least like a finished product out of all of them and is the one releasing the latest, as far as we know. As much as I and some of you want 50+ X-Men minifigures packed into this, that’s not realistic. 10 is the number we have, atm. Now, the leaker could be wrong, it happens, but at this point it’s the only info we have to go on. There will absolutely be repeats. Wolverine for sure, because he’s Wolverine, and probably some of the others like Rogue and Beast and Magento, if not all of the other X-Men we’ve seen in the past couple of years. It does seem convenient that there were 10 main characters in the original show and now 10 minifigures in this set. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I think they’ll just pull that lineup for the sets, but we’ll see. As for the future of X-Men sets, I wouldn’t worry too much about how well the Blackbird sells. The show seems to be doing well and interest in it will probably grow over time, which will hopefully correlate to additional sets going forward. Season 2 and 3 are already both in development, and there’s rumors of a 90’s cartoon universe revival which is a great sign for the X-Men going forward. And that’s not to mention the rumors about the X-Men appearing in the MCU within the next few years.
  11. There’s a better chance of us getting a wave of Deadpool Duplo sets than an X-Men set at that price point without Wolverine.
  12. Who says they don’t? At the end of the day, the end goal isn’t giving fans whatever they want or even what the designers want. The goal is to make money. No sense inflating the budget with a bunch of new prints when most of us will buy an X-Mansion with just the core characters. Not to mention, if they leave out a fair number of highly desirable characters here (villains especially) they can stick them in sets down the line as incentive to buy those.
  13. Hate to break it to you, but Lego is a business. And if they think we will buy an X-Mansion with only 10 minifigures, they’re not gonna throw in 20 just to “be cool.”
  14. DC should do something with the big sets they make instead of giant Bat-vehicles, ugly shadow boxes, and art displays (even though that last one actually looks cool). When was the last time we got a system scale set from DC over $100?
  15. It wouldn’t be the first time a DC set got mislabeled as Marvel, or vice versa. I can think of worse things than a Marvel D2C.
  16. According to MTDbricks, the mansion will have around 10 minifigures. I’m guessing it’s gonna be the main 8 (Cyclops, Wolverine, Jean, Storm, Beast, Gambit, Jubilee, Rogue), Xavier, and Magneto.
  17. I’m expecting it’s actually something for Marvel.
  18. It’s not the first time we’d have gotten two superhero D2C’s released back to back. Although the last time that happened was the Hulkbuster and Black Panther bust, so I could see Lego being hesitant to repeat that scenario.
  19. I’ve really enjoyed X-Men ‘97 so far. It’s disappointing we’re only getting the two sets. A giant buildable Sentinel with a couple of X-Men seems like a no-brainer. Hopefully we’ll see more sets when season 2 and 3 launch.
  20. I don’t see any scenario where Lego skips out on one of the Fantastic Four members. Worst case scenario, we only get flame-on Johnny.
  21. Getting Magneto in set after set might not have helped flesh out the X-Men rogues gallery, but it did serve as a fun little nod to the Fox movies. Speaking of Frost, I could see Lego shoving in the X-Mansion simply because her costume makes it unlikely they’d put her in a regular set.
  22. This is pretty much what I’m expecting for the lineup, with the addition of Storm and Sunspot. Cyclops and Morph will share a new set of legs with printing for boots (hopefully, but probably not, dual molded). And Beast will have a lab coat so he’s different from the CMF.
  23. What if we did get four Fantastic 4 sets, but each set was just a buildable figure of a different member? 😝
  24. The only movies that got more than 3 sets on release were The Batman, Wakanda Forever, and The Avengers films. I wouldn’t count on Fantastic Four getting more than 3.
