Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Three

"I can't actually spellcast, so those topaz blasts weren't me - The only attack I've launched all day was against U'dargan, and my reasoning for that was found reasonable enough.- 343 replies

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Three

I'm an evoker - I can't actually lob raw spells. That, and why would I transition from spellcasting to summoning, when the latter would completely expose me?- 343 replies

Lovely quest, Sandy! The battles were indeed well-balanced, though I felt the first one was harder then the second. (This is merely my opinion as an outsider, though, and should be taken with a grain of salt. ) My only real suggestion would've been to put the Thumb, or mention/rumors of him, in the beginning - that way, the party could've really been split when confronted by Kai Tsi.

Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Three
Endgame replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
"The dragoon's whole demeanor had me off. overly defensive and being passive aggressive about it, giving up on life early, mentioning "friends" but refusing to share them... I knew Dragoons were powerful, and if U'Dargan was Nephilim, he could likely be harder to defeat in the future. His whole behavior rubbed me wrong, so I decided to take advantage of my suspicions while he was asleep. I used a Summon so I wouldn't sustain Counterstrike damage. Otherwise I likely would've just stabbed him. However, my lightning dragon is gone: Zarissa sealed me overnight." "What would make you think that?"- 343 replies

"Do you want to hear the best part of this entire charade, Witch? He probably legitmately does want to marry you, from what I saw. How romantic." The green oculoid once again signals to the Aquamaw, commanding his beast to attack the heroes once more. "Too bad his beloved is dying today. My ambitions are on the line, heroes - and I will not be humiliated and have my goals stamped on this filthy little trio!"
-
"So today, apparently. Or so you hope."
-
QM Note: Why would you have 2 HP? You dodged with your catsuit last time you got hit. The green Oculoid's sputtering ceases for a bit as he detects a wayward thought from the party. "So, when's the wedding, Witch? Or did I just managed to ruin a relationship? Kyah heh heh..." The demon's chuckle is now half-hearted at best, his ambitions being shattered before his eyes. Words were all he had now.

Round Five of the Battle of Deep's Pond! >Karie repels the Green Oculoid >Johon VS Aquamaw Fourth C (front): Critical Hit Shield: Ravage (8+25=33 damage to all enemies, 44 gold earned) >Johon VS Aquamaw Fourth D (front): Special Damage Special Damage (Last Stand: 214/10=21 damage) >Althior (Lightning) VS Aquamaw Fourth B (back): Hit (12+35=47x2=94 damage, no curse) >Karie VS Aquamaw Fourth A (front): Damage Damage (11 damage, no dodge.) Karie, in her constantly stacking anger against the green-eyed demon, lashes out against the Oculoid. As the demon is driven back Johon and Althior attack the Fourths. Johon reples the onslaught of small Aquamaws and ravages them, whittling down their helath further and pocketing some coins wirling in their aquatic bodies. Althior swiftly dodges an aquamaw's bite and electrocutes it, harming them all in the process. A wave washe sover Johon, knocking him back, but it lacked the power it did previously - the Aquamaw was battered and weary, bubbling from the buase it had recieved. One fourth takes a half hearted lunge at Karie, managing to half the witch's HP. The Green Oculoid watches in horror as his beast gets closer and closer to defeat. "This... This... This is wrong. Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis: Discussion
Endgame replied to Sandy's topic in The Heroica Archive
Which one would that be? -
QM Note: If someone could post their actions, it'd be much appreciated - great roleplaying from everyone thus far, though.
-
QM Note: College is only marginally more important than my digital machinations. Don't worry about it. "Kyah heh heh... Well, Karie, out of all your insecurities, I may have finally found the biggest. Took me a long time. Then again, you just have so many of them. You're in denial, witch. That was then? Oh, so you'd do it to him before? Johon does seem pretty willing..." The oculoid cackles, turning his gaze to the Raider. "So what are your thoughts on this folly, Raider? Still willing to bed the witch?" The Green Oculoid pauses for a moment. "Eurgh. This conversation has taken a turn for the distasteful, hasn't it?"
-
The Oculoid chuckles. "No response? Hah. I guess you really do love him only a fraction of the amount he loves you. Go ahead, use your darling Masson as a one-night stand. He'll be dead within the week." Round Four of the Battle of Deep's Pond! >Johon revives Althior (back) >Karie VS Aquamaw Fourth A (front): Special Damage Critical Hit (7x2=14+16=30x2=60 damage, Poison effect transferred) >Karie VS Aquamaw Fourth B (front): Special Damage Damage (Catsuit dodge!) >Johon VS Aquamaw Fourth C (front): Hit Shield: Ravage (44 gold earned, 8+25=33 damage to all enemies) >Althior repels the Green Oculoid (back) Althior is revived, the pink glow of the Emergency Essence swirling around the Necromancer. He staggers up, seemingly shaken by the collosal attack and... something else... Karie gets a good hit on one of the Aquamaw fourths, a tendril of poison entering its water body. Another fourth tries to tak a bite out of her, but the witch nimbly dodges the attack in her catsuit. Johon enters yet another ravage, jets of water spewing everywhere as he slices his foes. Althior repels the Oculoid, keeping it from terrorizing the party that round. "And you're willing to take responsibility for the basket case?"
-
"What? Already distrustful of your significant other? How delightful! But if you must know... Your Masson is a very lonely man, Karie. To the point where you occupy a large part of his heart... or, in other words, all of it. I am speaking quite literally. Out of all of the people on Olegaia, you are the only one he loves. And you are the only one who loves him back. Can hardly blame him, I suppose - poor fool's family all kicked the bucket - but I want you to know something, Witch. You are all that that maniac has now. So if you do sleep with another man... Well, best case scenario, he goes even more absolutely insane then he was previously. Worst case scenario? You find him dangling from a noose in his apartment." The Oculoid cackles sinisterly, sending chills down the party's spines. Was he speaking the truth...?! "Oh, who am I kidding? Sociopathic psychos like you two are practically made for each other."
-
The Green Oculoid scratches his head, confused. "...What does raising the third digit of your hand skyward and facing your hand in my general direction signify?" It seems he literally didn't know what the gesture meant. Karie grins, actually managing to confuse the demon for once. "I did actually poke around your bodyfriend's skull. Do you want to know what I learned?" The Green oculoid cackled, but there was a little less oomph to it. It seemed Karie did manage to knock his ego and composure down a few notches.

"Your words are hollow, Witch. You mock our kind as defunct? The word doesn't even begin to describe you, knave. I was born to bring misery to your species, and I'm doing my job adequately. Why do you live? To convince yourself that your life has meaning, despite the fact you were created without it? To delude yourself each and every day, just so you don't collapse into tears? To breed with your equally broken and insane mate? For each of our flaws your pitiful little group has two more. And, just to humor you - No, it does not. Though I am curious why you would ask about demonic intercourse."
-
"Too technical for any of you brats to comprehend, unfortunately. However, for being creatures born off of an assmelby line, we achieve far more than you pests ever do."
-
QM Note: I just checked, and your army does indeed vanish if you get knocked out. Fortunately, the boss fight (this is the penultimate battle) will have pleny of oppurtunities for raising undead minions.
-
QM Note: Your undead are gone, K-Nut - they vanish when you get KOed, correct? You have 4 actions to work with and 5 targets - but, remember, if you leave a single Aquamaw fragment unhurt, it'll be able to merge back with another one.
-
"You misunderstand me. That weak-hearted Yellow Oculoid may have had a soft spot for you things- a defect onour assembly line, so I heard - I would like nothing more then to kill all of you. I just said that so I could give you a small glimmer of hope before stamping both it and you out for good." The Oculoid chuckles once more. "Did it work? Either way, announce your choice."
-
"Ahh... Silence. Music to my figurative ears. Maybe you're finally taking my advice to heart, Witch." The gren Oculoid cackles. "Kyah heh heh heh! You're learning, little one. Faster than the Raider, at any rate. Now, here is your final chance for mercy: Lay down your weapons and I will give you a painless death. Otherwise, I'm afraid Aquamaw here will have to tear you all limb by limb. If your lives are the price I have to pay to become the Chief of this squadron, I'll be more than happy to pay!"
