  1. "Yes, and I'm four hundred twenty eight. I'm fairly certain I'm older than everyone else in this room combined. Now, I've been dead for four hundred twenty seven of those. Even still, I can tell you this: Life is worth living, not throwing yourself in front of one of Heroica's strongest assassins. I'm willing to talk this out, but I will not have any blood shed in this room. Not without retribution."
  2. "I don't gamble with lives, Em. I won't fire until they do... Their lives are in their own hands for now. But when the die is cast... I do what an Assassin does, Em. It's a creed of sorts, I suppose." I don't turn my eyes from the Shadow Sisters.
  3. "Expression pardoned, sir." I draw my bow, taking a step back and eying the new opponents. Witches, of ethereal bent. And one of them was a... little girl...? "Not again..." I murmur. "I don't think the grandfather card will work this time, old friend." "...You know, Syntax, sometimes you're good conversation, sometimes you're not." "I am you, you twit. Now, get your head in the game, unless you feel like staining your hands with another kid's blood." He was right, surprisingly. "I don't care whether or not you intend on killing us, "Shadow Sisters". You aren't throwing a kid in my line of fire. I won't allow it." I state, ice cold, arrow drawn. Unrelated, but urgent nonetheless: Kintobor, if you have the system, I strongly reccomend getting Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. Best Mario RPG, and probably the only game that has managed to beat Paper Mario TTYD in terms of quality since that game came out, in my opinion.
  4. I raise an eyebrow as Watt annnounces his name. He looked about as shifty and unpleasant as I made him out to be in my mind. "Coming from somebody who is so ugly he'd rather have no face then show his real one? Hypocrite." Tcht. Touche. "Would you happen to have a brother, by any chance?"
  5. Margaret chuckles weakly. "Oh, no, that's an easy one. Pretty much at sundown, on the dot, last night. Wonder how long the bastards have been hangin' 'round on this world, though..." Althior conjures a ball of light in his palm, carefully taking aim at this demonic foe - as the Chief finishes his brutal assault against Johon, Althior unleashes the spell, the light hitting the Chief squarely in the pupil. As they sort through their well-earned spoils, the Oculoid Chief stirs silently. Quietly he rises from the ground, the plasmic puddle forming back into the demon's tentacled body. The party turns around to see him withdrawing the barbs from one of his tentacles, using it to pull his comrades out of the knocked out villagers. before long he pulls out all 3 of his subordinates from the villager's shivering bodies. They ascend into the air, keeping their distance from the heroes. "Idiots. Morons. Fools. Simpletons. Can you three remind me why I enlisted you? Did you forget basic procedure, to vacate a body before it is knocked unconscious? I'd expect this from Red, but not you two, Blue and Green." "...Hey!" The chief shoots the Red Oculoid a withering stare, shutting him up instantly. "My most profund apologies, sir. In my hunger I forgot my discipline..." "It won't happen again, sir." The oculoid Chief growls, watching as the heroes draw their weapons to confront the battered demons. "I reprimand you later. For now, we regroup..." Althior haphazardly lobs orbs of light at the fleeing Oculoids, but he misses: The four get away, fleeing deeper into the forest. Jack, Jill, and Geoffrey, who had been hanging back during the battle, rush to their possessed neighbors' sides. Even Margaret, her mind enthralled by the Oculoid Chief, seems to awake from her trance, the spark of intelligence returning to her eyes. She seems a bit too weak to get up though, exhausted from being possessed by the Oculoid Chief. "This... isn't good..." "They all seem to be horribly sick from being possessed..." Geoffrey mumbles. Jill places her hand on each of the men's foreheads, speaking gravely. "I'm no doctor, but they're all running terrible fevers, and Ennoc knows what else these demons did to them. We'll have to take them back to the cabins and ge tthem some help, quick. As the Jack, Jill, and Geoffrey pick up the villagers and get ready to carry them off, Jill turns her attention to Margaret. "Margaret... Are you okay?" The alchemist staggers up, weak and jittery from her possession and brainwashing. She's as pale as a ghost, looking almost as sick as the others, despite not being possessed as long or taking battle damage. it would seem the Chief did more damage to his vessels than the lesser Oculoids. She leans on a tree to get her balance, having some difficulty speaking. "Y-yeah... Yeah, far from my best, but doin' alright, I guess..." she gorans. She turns her attention to the heroes. "Heroes. First of all, thank you so much. We'd still be those sickos' puppets if it weren't for you three. So, yeah. Thanks. Second of all... please, heroes, you have to pursue those one-eyed freaks. The bastards couldn't have gotten far, and there is only so many places they could go." The heroes were going to have to dish out the loot quickly, and see if they could catch the oculoids before they escaped.
  7. Even as ink piurs out of his every wound, the oculoid Chief fidns his last iota of composure. "Think you're superior, do you? The second I drop you'll simply collapse... and a mind can only break so many times until it shatters. Furthermore... I refuse to die here. Not here. Not to you. And most of all, not you weak-minded vermin."
  8. "Even if you "defeat" me here... This far from over. I will ensure that you never lay a single finger on those documents!" It seems Karie was right; Their mission and the Oculoid's presence were directly related. But why...?
  9. I walk into the center of the room.

  11. Also, decided to whip this up: (Yeah, I chose to represent myself with the Master of Regret. Not sure why. ) You may notice that there is a small to signifigant hike in quality between the beginning and end of my quests, usually. This is why. Also, questions for other QMs/Players: What are your thoughts on Grand Finale quests? As in, a quest in which the QM ties up any ends that he feels that need to, incorporates all of his arcs in some way, and then simply signs off the air. Mine is getting... dangerously close, honestly, and I'm not sure if I should host afterwards. I may end up transisitioning to those "personal quests" if those ever end up getting implemented.
  12. "Hah. Unlikely. I do not need to lie to myself to get through a single battle. You, on the other hand..."
  13. "Yes. And you fail in your teachings. Every. Single. Time." The Chief sighs. "It isn't like you have a place in our cause anyway. You'll die at the master's hands, just like the rest."
  14. Oculoids are a tad pessimistic.

  15. QM Note: Fixed. The Chief, despite his usual tendency to chuckle at what he percieved at stupidity, goes deathly serious at Althior's rejection. "Really, necromancer? False truths. Love, hope. Things that everyone tries so desperately to cling on to, despite the ideals being proven a lie time and time again throughout history. We have both abandoned them. I am fueled by hate, Althior. And I get the feeling you are as well.
  16. "Not a terrible idea, mr. Gligin, but they are locked up. We should keep our distance, but I highly doubt they could kill us from behind bars." Then again, you never know. "I suppose I could volunteer to stir up conversation..."
  17. "Pity. The best part is, Necromancer, I wasn't even trying to manipulate you - through magical means, anyway. i figured I'd be able to appeal to your sense of reason instead of having to take control like I'd have to do to your peers. You're just another disgusting human to add to the pile, I guess. I have nop problem killing you if it means paving the way to a better future, though. Just think! After I succeed in this operation, I'll be promoted to an Oculoid Mastermind! To play such an integral role in one of the biggest revolutions Olegaia will ever face is... remarkably satisfying, really." 20. Question 1: 1. Death's Homecoming: My biggest quest to date. Featured some of my best builds, best battles, and best boss fight. The party and roleplaying was excellent, as well. 2. The Syndicate: Sported my overall favorite RP, and my builds weren't too bad either. Featured my favorite character design (humanoid, anyway: The Stealer of Senses) and some of my best editing. Masson had the most well thought out pyschology of any villain that I've shown thus far, and is among my favorite characters I've made. -Three is a tie, and both are close to 2: 3. The Stealer of Senses: The players made this quest shine. I was mostly focusing on providing a medium for their roleplay, and it paid off tremendously. 3. Fading Spark: Let me just say I like where this one is going to go. 4. Voracious Vault: This one holds a big place in my heart, and had excellent players, but overall I don't think it was my best. I still see it as a good quest, but I also see plenty of things I have since improved upon tremendously. 5. Product Testing: My worst job hosting in all aspects (the players were as good as ever, but I? Not even close.). I still feel terrible about forcing my party through this one. Terrible, and not even close to the others in this list. Question 2: I quite liked the Chao/Cosmosaur's specials, as well as the passives The Stealer of Senses would've used. In general my favorite specials are the ones that alter the flow of the battle. Question 3: This is a tough one, really. I've already stated my favorite location in the game to be the Luminous Passage, but there is nothing really to develop... I'm going to have to go with either Etheria or Underground Eubric at this point. Question 4: Hmm... Dannylonglegs? I could try to out-intrigue him, and he could try to out-boss battle me.
  21. I would say challenge accepted, but... I'm already in the middle of Q79, you see. I may prepare another batch of Boss Philosophy soon, if anyobdy would be interested.
  22. "Do as Em said, soldier. Run away and never come back. Do you have any idea where the women went?"

Karie heals Althior, the Necromancer chucking a ball of pure light at Erick. He foolheartedly tries to knowck it back with his axe, but only recieves the entire spell to his face for his troubles. 24. It wouldn't stack, though, would it?
  25. I had it reverse to one of her teammates because she herself was hexed... and then she mirrored it onto herself again, so I divided her health by 4.
