Waiting for some better pictures. Initial thoughts are I am happy to get a balrog but will need to do modifications. Also have we determined if those are repeats of the fell beast wings or just similar? Edit. the You shall not pass brick is awesome! I think adding more “fire” to the balrog will be my goal. Hard to capture shadow and flame in Lego so i am pretty happy with what they have done just want to add more fire if possible.

Why is LOTR always revealed so much later than other themes? We have had the book nook for Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes for at least a week. I just want to see it.

LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

LOTR might give Star Wars a run for its money in late reveals - but at volume Star Wars is definitely always last. i want more Death Star leaks personally (even if it’s not pictures). Still want to see the mini figure list. -
2013 might be my favorite year for Lego. LOTR was awesome, and Star Wars had a really good year, but I do think 2015/2016 with the rebels and rogue one sets were right there with 2013 for Star Wars. Most of my favorite sets are from those years. Least favorite - either early years (if I remove the nostalgia they are just not as good as modern sets) or this year. I am only interested in 3-4 sets this year. Most years (since the modern style of minifigures) have 5-7 sets that interest me.

The Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes sets give me hope that we will get a good brick built balrog

Wizarding World 2025 - Rumors & Discussion

Harry Potter seems pretty good this year. I have never really collected much Harry Potter sets but this years sets have caught my interest (privet drive is pretty well done as is the tower, and the night bus was good). Lots of good minifigures and designs. -

I am on board with this. That Tie Avenger would be a sweet set. and it should come with a range trooper (just going off trailers, no spoilers) I am only buying three sets this year, Home One, U-wing, and probably the Death Star. I think some other sets are well executed, but I am just not excited about most of them. I like the idea, and the theme of droids, I hope they continue this with future ACs, like Empire AC would be awesome. I just wish they had an extra astro mech or protocol droid to get more mini figures. -
Excited to see the Balrog, the Harry Potter and Sherlock ones were good. I am hoping for bookends still over the book nook, but as long as it is well executed I am good either way.

Tie Avenger would be a great set, would prefer some range and stormtroopers though. -

Any ideas what sets will be on sale for may the fourth? Any chance the sailbarge goes on sale yet? Curious if there is precedent. -

Home one and acclamator? Not vehicles but new ships. -
With the new duros rumor, looking for other cantina or jabbas palace aliens that people have built (I am a purist but would love seeing everything out there). Does anyone have any good cantina aliens?

1. Or 4. (very upset). Not getting Gondor a second time would be the ultimate slap in the face to Lego LOTR fans, especially after hinting it in the first two sets. Could be made up if the minifigures are available through cmf or something else though

sets look nice, hoping they have enough U-wings in stock though, it is the only one I am planning on buying for May 4th. Not a lot of play sets for it to compete with. -
Building the fell beast set was probably my favorite of the new lord of the rings sets to build. Mostly because it was very nostalgic to build a small LOTR set. Felt great to build a 270 piece LOTR set in less than an hour with good results. That is why I think sets in the 200-1500 piece range would be so good for the theme (shire was pretty fun too but I didn’t build all of it myself) (Rivendell was awesome but took a long time same with Barad Dur, Sméagol/Déagol was a dark scene and very short build so it was fun but not as good as the others to me)

The second gwp (Easter bunny) had some really good extra parts for the shire. There are the flowers that haven’t bloomed yet that look really good beneath the large window (and balance the color well), and it had spare sunflowers. Really nice extras for the shire.
-
I like getting the smaller set in the shire. I thought it really is a great set and I think criticism would have been less if it was $220-$250. Now I want even smaller play sets.
-
Just got the shire set finally. Built it, great set, really enjoyed the build the way it looks, and the minifigures are excellent. Honestly the side builds just make me want to build out more of the shire for a bigger scene. Lends itself to Mocs more than the other sets did in my opinion.

I read the books first, but saw the movies within a year or two of reading the books. But I agree that Minis Tirith is one of the most important/ iconic locations in middle earth. Even for movie fans though there are only three locations with screen time in all three movies (minis Tirith, Rivendell, and Barad Dur) unless I am forgetting one.
-
If you haven’t done so it’s worth checking the winner of the LOTR Lego ideas challenge from when Rivendell was released. Minis Tirith was great in micro scale.
-
Not buying the competition. I spend enough collecting Lego LOTR. But I think you made a point that Lego could sell it fine. if it’s their competitors top seller, then Lego should have no trouble selling it with the brand recognition.
-
I would like a Rivendell styled white tower/throne area/tree maybe have houses of healing with a garden or a beacon (like the armory section). $700 ish dollars. Then a separate micro scale build of the whole city like the recent hogwarts and grounds.
