Can you share some of the denathorbuilds? Interested in seeing some

We do need a white horse without reigns (And without eyelashes) - I would be good with that. Lego should figure out how to do the add on packs for licensed themes like they do with Castle - imagine being able to order a bonus 5 Gondor soldiers or horses when you buy the set. That would be awesome.

True perfection :) -
If the list is complete (8 total figs). I am hoping for a $400 micro scale build (and some scenes in the back). as much as I want eowyn and the witch king I don’t think they are needed for minis tirith and really need to be their own set.

Or specific about their collections. They could be people who just collect minifigures only and stopped buying sets. In that case it makes sense to spend half as much as you would otherwise to get the minifigures vs. spending $1k to try to sell the rest of the set. They are definitely paying something for connivence but most people with money spend it on convenience/time. -

Probably, there were people willing to pay it. I would add, two of these figures (Tarkin and Yularen) go for $80 each or more regularly on Bricklink. there are ten unique/rare minifigures in the Death Star - Tarkin, Yularen, Erso, Dignitary, Motti, Tagge, Astromech, RA-7, Hot tub trooper, and the black uniform imperial officer. These are either unique, or sell for over $30 each in brick link. The rest of the figures Vader/Luke/Han, etc. are all probably worth $5ish maybe slightly more for the currently unique prints on a few. So saying that the ten unique figures are worth an average of $50 each on resale then $500 makes a lot of sense. But really it comes down to if there are people buying it or not which it looks like they are. I think I would pay $300 for them and skip the Death Star, but I doubt they will get to an average of $30 each which is why I am waiting for a discount on the Death Star in the future. -

I asked my Lego store and it sounded like they got between 5-10. It took them a few days to sell out. The only other data points I have are the same Lego store had 21 Rivendell sets that sold out day one and around the same barad Dur sets selling out by day two. So hard to say, but it sounds like Lego is selling what they expected to. I’m still going to hold out for a discount in a year or two. (Mostly for the rare minifigures) -

Hahaha the x wing looks bad! I thought the two recent ones were pretty good (closer to scale than the older ones) and they were getting some of the shaping right agin, then there is this 4 plus design for crazy money. -

It's growing on me too. I want to a Lego store to look at it in person and was surprised that I liked it much more in person than what the pictures/videos have shown. I still think the price is too high (I know what we get may be "fair" part per piece or whatever - but I think $800 is what it looks like). I will hold out and see if we ever get a discount at which point I would purchase it. It definitely looks more impressive in person (probably because your eye is drawn to sections more than a video or picture can support. -
I love all the Minis Tirith talk and what we want. I think it is safe to say what we all probably want most, is multiple Gondor sets of different dollar values to include all the minifigures and scenes we never got, including some army builder sets. I for one am still holding out on the theme truly returning on its own (and not just in Icons) to do the lineup we never got over a decade ago centered around the third movie (I suppose we got the black gate and pirate ship, but at the time we were all expecting a Gondor wave).

I am one with the Tie Avenger, the Tie avenger is with me -
This is one concern I have for minis tirith, we need a battle packs (or equivalent) alongside minis tirith. Without a full theme though I’m concerned something like that does not fit into the icons line up.

Fair enough, getting a messed up Mara would be worse than no Mara. Question is which Mara is preferred? I always default to the decipher card game depiction. -

What?! Mara Jade - Lego needs to do something, I’ll buy some crazy snowspeeder if it has Mara jade. -
My top minis tirith concepts 1) something like this - aligned with Rivendell, focus on the white tree, courtyard, citadel, throne room, in the $400-$500 range and this line up. 2) micro scale like the recent hogwarts castle and grounds - $200 and includes one Gondor soldier 3) Barad Dur style (micro exterior / scenes for interior) $750 would include 20 minifigures 4) multiple sets that go together like the current hogwarts castle (maybe each one is a level) this would be my favorite thing but would require a lot of sets and coordination and the theme to be real and not just an icons sub theme

I prefer the newer ones, I like the detail and think they still have the Lego/cartoonish look. The simpler ones ones are a bit nostalgic as are the yellow ones, but the newer ones are much better. (I also think some customs go too far with details, I think what Lego is making currently - minus there mistakes and the family guy helmets is a good middle ground that keeps the Lego look)

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

Happily, worth noting I avoided them to stay in step with the original post. adding a few OT playsets ANH: lars homestead - Owen, Beru, Luke, (small hut and an evaporator) - focus on above ground to recreate the scene of Luke looking at the twin suns. $35 in today's prices - maybe $45 hard to price things anymore. bantha attack - Molded bantha (think wooly mammoth style) small build of rocks and scenery, Luke land speeder, Obi-wan, Luke, 2 tuskens, C-3PO. $70 because of the molded bantha Ronto - Molded Ronto , Jawa, swoop rider, few droids, small mos eisly build and a swoop - $90 because of the molded Ronto outrider - Dash Rendar, Lebo, throw in two sand troopers ($150) really just the outrider build ESB: rebel transport (inside could be a rebel command center) - Come with Leia, two rebel pilots (would prefer to get some remakes with this like Wes Janson even though they didn't fly on these), two rebel officers (maybe toryn Farr again) and a few rebel troopers, throw in an astromech, build is a rebel transport playset that would have some cargo drop play functions, opens up for a command center, and has a side build of the ion cannon. Call it $170-200 with todays prices (thinking like the star destroyer how it opens up) Rotj: Ewok village. - Needs to have two maybe three trees, a handful of Ewoks, Leia (in Ewok garb), maybe some storm trooper helmets, a fire area - $200 thinking along the lines of the Yavin 4 base. and most importantly a tie avenger - Cassian, few range troopers, and the droid. $70-$80 -

Great list and agreed that there are too many sub theme sets cutting into good playsets. adding a few OT playsets ANH: lars homestead bantha attack Ronto outrider ESB: rebel transport (inside could be a rebel command center) Rotj: Ewok village and most importantly a tie avenger -
A horizontal slice (just level 3) of minis Tirith. I honestly don't want another giant set next year, I thought the Balrog was the right size for another set next year (ideally two) but without an actual LOTR line its unlikely to get a few smaller sets. I am assuming that as part of the Icons line they are limited to locations or objects (not really scenes, unless it's something like a book nook), based on that I would like the grey havens boat, or an Oliphaunt build for like $100 to $150. Then a bigger set when we hopefully get a full theme someday (so we can get battle packs along side it to fill it out).

I really do not understand why Lego does not cash in on ideas like this more often. An Imperial Battle pack alongside the death star would sell decently enough. They could have done a Jabba's Palace battle pack alongside the Sail Barge too with 1 gamoreon, 1 weequay, and then a pick your poison of two additional aliens (Rodians, Jawa, Twi-lek, Quarren, etc.). I think you would get the battle pack buyers in general, but also most people buying one of these UCS sets would pick up these to fill out the build (granted you wouldn't get grey base plates filled with Quarren like they do with clones). Instead we have a zombie trooper battle pack - fine I guess, but so specific and it cannot add to current sets (minus the duel on peridia which does not seem to be selling well anyway given the extended discounts directly from lego) -

Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. Also this is correct, should have been another named character. The tie avenger will happen! -

I think the concept is a good one with one caveat though. It should have been a $250 dollar range set like the kenner one that was rumored for the ISD last year. It is interesting because most of the things rumored for that set are in this set (which I think the designers said this one has been in development for 2 years so maybe the rumors came from this one?). I think if they had done a hangar, the turbo lift, the conference room, the Turbolaser (not the super laser), maybe the gunner area/targeting Yavin area, and had it play as a counter to the Yavin set as an imperial set it is a great concept, cut back on figures to the original Death Star officers and some imperial troops. Obviously blowing this up to $1000k, and trying to incorporate everything is a take on the concept. I like the concept of a "dollhouse" Death Star with different scenes to act as a base, the scope creep to include everything (including three recent dioramas) making it cost $1000 is probably hurting the concept in my opinion. In another note. I am very excited to see the MOCs on this one. Who is going to add the half sphere to this so it can come off and show the cool interior? Or is someone going to take all the parts and make it a circle? I think there are some really good opportunities to keep the core set ideas and add to it (for those that want to spend a lot). I still stand by I like the set enough that I will look for it on a deep discount from Lego (which is rare, but not out of the realm of possibility) -
I wonder if we will hear any rumors soon. I feel like we have gotten rumors starting in September - November on LOTR sets. Hoping to hear something to show that the theme has not died off again without Gondor.

My brain was injured trying to imagine this. I do like the Death Star, I think it has some flaws, but I do like the functions and the designs within. I will likely pick it up if I can find it for 20-30% off someday (combined with whatever points I have to use). I wish the figures had been done with more care (dual molded legs, arm printing, etc.) but I like the selection overall.
