Heard hunt for gollum is delayed a year (good for hopefully a better product of a movie - bad if we were hoping for a real LOtR range of sets next year)
-
The rumor for the Death Star is 40 mini figures too. If there was a $1k minis tirith 40 mini figs is the bar. I would be on board for 40 Gondor mini figures.

$70. - crazy to see how bad Lego has taken value out for us where we hope for 7-8 minifigures for $200 when we used to get 5 for less than $100

Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures
Lordhelmet replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Wishlist microfighter 2 pack falcon with general Lando vs. Death Star with moff Jerjerrod Microfighter snowspeeder With hobbie Klivian Microfighter x wing with John D Brannon and R5-k6 (wrong droid for Brannon but would be a good way to get R5 for garven while still getting Brannon) -
I planned for $350 (but $200-$230 would be nice). if it’s at the once rumored $350 price they will have to go crazy good value with lot of minifigures. (10-12 minimum with good quality) if it is closer to the $200 price I would be good with 7-8 on the minimum range (bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, merry, pippin, Rosie, one more hobbit). The. I would hope the gwp has another hobbit (I would actually prefer a different hobbit in the set and have Gandalf be the gwp but I think people would be upset without Gandalf in the set)

My favorite (mf) Microfighter (mf) minifigure (mf) was theron net from the x wing (and r2-x2). Seriously, two exclusive characters in one microfighter (mf) was pretty awesome. Hopefully plo koon gets a second character, but nothing will beat that x wing one to me unless we get another one with two exclusive named characters. -
Agreed that there is less detail than what hogwarts is doing, but I could see something like four or five sets working together (for the record I think this is the least likely of the four options). Have a set for the courtyard/top level throne room (maybe two here). A city set representing a level of the city maybe have houses of healing, outer wall battle with a siege engine, then the gate with grond. Multiples of the battle wall and city sets could be combined to make a really big display (in the helms Dede’s set fashion). Would be awesome for figures, but would look more like a playset version than the detailed ones we have seen recently. I think my biggest hope is two sets, a micro scale one like hogwarts and grounds, and then a Rivendell styled set of some key area or capturing some key areas. (And then a whole Gondor group of playsets including battle packs, witch king, grond, and cmf series)
-
I think there are four best approaches to try to do minis tirith. (Not in any particular order) 1) full mini scale like hogwarts 2) mini scale with interiors for play like Brad dur 3) recreated sections like Rivendell (thinking mostly the throne room and white tree courtyard 4) multiple sets to build together like the current hogwarts playsets I think any of these could do a good job depicting minis tirith. If I had to pick a favorite it would be 3 or 4 for the minifigure possibilities. If option 1 came out they would desperately need to make other sets with Gondor minifigures.

When can we expect gwp news for may the first? Does that start coming out in March or April historically? -

I am interested in the mix that Lego is producing this year. We basically have no OT sets that are affordable (I am excluding buildable figs, they clearly have a market but not one I am interested in). A few years ago I decided to narrow my collection. As prices continued to climb on new sets I couldn't afford all of my favorites so I made a choice to focus on collecting OT (one of every ship in the movie, and one of every character). I sold off a bunch of old prequel and clone wars stuff. I kept a few minifigures and sets (Rex, Kylo, Thrawn, Mando) that are not from the OT. I bring this up because I wonder how many OT collectors there are that only buy OT set with minifigures Vs. how many collectors only buy Prequels stuff, or Sequaels, or Shows. Lego has to be thinking about this in how they plan what they are producing. I am wondering because if Lego does plan on doing a $1000 death star, they have lined it up for OT collectors to at least consider buying. There is one set (home one) that is very OT specific that has not been done before. Outside of that there is nothing (I personally will probably get the U wing too). If intentional then Lego set it up for OT collectors to really consider the Death Star if it does have 40 minifigs (and if there are unique/new ones). I am curious how intentional it was for Lego to plan the sets that way. Meanwhile everyone who likes clones/prequels for their collection will have opportunities in the lower cost range based on all the rumors. The only thing really missing from this years wave is stuff geared for kids (under $30) with playability and multiple characters. -

Are the main OT cast projected in any sets this year? Outside of the Death Star (which I can’t wait for pictures to decide to buy or not). -
I did the same thing, works great for Haldir

Given how good cmf figures are they could do a bunch of remakes and people would buy them without needing to explore new characters or variants. Think about chewie with arm printing, Han with side leg printing, Vader with specific movie prints, even a stormtrooper with arm printing (and maybe a better helmet). Those would sell like crazy, and would make no dent in all the characters we want to see and haven’t before. They could run yearly cmf lines and it would take a decade or two to start running out of characters or eating into other set demand. -
I think the white tree would be a cool set on its own. Like a floral meets diorama set. I’d totally get that set, or the white tree could be a part of a citadel guard battle pack. Have the tree build, 2 critical guards and 2 Gondor soldiers. I think these are unlikely but would also be cool. with the battle pack idea I would have at least two other Gondor battle packs Gondor soldiers with some wall, and then the rangers of ithilien with some foliage. What happens inside? Gandalf goes over the scrolls in the library. Houses of healing are shown briefly, main hall/throne room is shown, and then the pyre scene. I can’t think of any others off hand minus some shots of doorways or arches. also if we ever get Denethor, I want the alternate face to have some tomato on it.
-
Do we expect a gwp on this one? Maybe the set shouldn’t include Gandalf but have Gandalf arrives as a gwp? Or a black rider as a gwp (two prints and then the roadside cove scene). I only plan on buying day one if there is a gwp or 2x vip points (my standard Lego rule) or else I will wait for a 2x vip.

True it would be called a cash grab, I suppose I am one of the die hard fans though and would prefer this methodology. your second point about doing it like Rivendell would be way better than a full city (unless it’s micro scale exterior with internal compartments - but this does not work as well because most of minis tirith is outside in the movies). I would love a detailed tree/hall/courtyard area for $500-$700. Similar to the way Rivendell captured the main highlights but was still minifig scale. Then maybe a separate gate/wall section for $200-$300 (with some troll big figs). This really goes back to we just need playsets to really do gondor justice. Then a micro scale minis tirith would be fine.
-
I am just concerned on the minifigures side. 40 is good but can we also get a battle pack of orcs and gondor . Also I hate buying $1000 sets but would for minis tirith. i would prefer two $500 sets that work together like lower levels and upper levels. Maybe three
-
What minifigures is that hairpiece from? I think the picture looks good here. Rosmertas might work though as it looks good on the figure from the front. I also wouldn’t be against a new hair mold for both lobelia and Rosie. minis tirith is so long overdue. I am hoping it is not a giant set though but smaller scenes from minis tirith. A $1k set would be the worst way they could introduce Gondor to the theme considering it should have been in play sets a decade ago. I would be good with a big set in the future but I want to amass a Gondor army.

I’m late to the party but 40 minifigs in the Death Star is awesome! That just went up on my likelihood to buy it, maybe my first ucs set. Hopefully they are good quality, and I am hoping for a range of imperials on it. Hoping to get some named imperials from both death stars, and some others like sim aloo. Could be awesome with a bunch of unique figures. -

What are the current counts for 2025? -
This is my list too. I think 10 is my expectation given that hobbits are relatively uniform (face and torso prints would be different and different hair for females). I am hoping for one or two generic hobbits in addition to this list to get us to 12 minifigures.

When do we think we will see pictures for bag end? Beginning of march?

I say bring on the clone sets this year. That way I can save for the u wing and the Death Star.
