  1. I believe this is right but after how the theme ended last time without Gondor I would like for them to hurry up and do it earlier than later :). I remember reading these forums ten years ago looking for news of Gondor and thinking “they will get to Gondor, how could they not do Gondor”? Hopefully we get a full wave soon which would fix this. Also Edoras would be awesome I like how in the upcoming movie it looks like they made it the same as before with all the details. I am all about getting some army builder sets. I only have 40-50 Uruk Hai, a dozen elves and a dozen Rohan. Would love to at a minimum triple those numbers. Rohan battle packs would be awesome but are tough because of the horses. I think they could sell a Rohan battle pack with two horses (with unique Rohan printing) and two soldiers for the $20 or three of each at $30 with a small side build. i would probably buy the most of a Mordor orc battle pack (could re use the Barad Dur orcs) and Gondor battle packs. But LOtR could do all the different factions and I think they would get decent to good sales. CMF line would also be good if one or two spots were army builder options but that might end up being the most expensive as those army builders would be pricey quickly in the after market.
  2. Ouch, catching spelling error strays. I agree the greasy advisor was who I intended. I enjoyed the Indiana jones sets and was sorry to see them leave. They may have been the best priced sets I can remember.
  3. I am rooting for Rosie to be a minifigure. If the rumor is true At $400 for a shire I expect at least 10 minifigures. And if Lego was feeling like being awesome it would be closer to 20 like the cantina. I figure if it’s the shire we get Gandalf, bilbo, Frodo, merry, pippen, Sam, that should give us at least four extra hobbits. I would vote for the following (Rosie, odo, lobelia, lotho, hamfast, farmer maggot). It also might be nice to get one or two random hobbits on top so 14 total. Seems reasonable at $400. Plus for Lego it’s no leg printing on all but one character, reusing at least five characters. this is all assuming it’s LOTR not the hobbit.
  4. Seriously :) If it is the shire I am hoping it is less expensive. I would be good with a small bag end again, or hoping for two companion sets, like a party tree and bag end. That way we could have two price points this year. (like a $250 bag end, and a $100 party tree) Excited to see some strong rumors though!
  5. Good to hear, what site is best to follow? Would like to keep up to date on them and I mostly just see YouTube speculation. I have been thinking a lot about some of the next set requests about bag end and I have come around to I would prefer a play set of the party tree, it would have a buildable tree, tent, kitchen area, tables, and a dragon, and have 12 minifigures (Gandalf, bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Rosie, merry, pippin, and five more hobbits). Retail around $160.
  6. Does this it was originally meant to be on shelves till December 2025, and now will be December 2024? That is unfortunate if true. I have noticed that both Barad Dur and Rivendell have 2XVIP deals right now too. I also find it strange that there has been no rumors for next year (at least strongly sourced rumors). I get pessimistic when this happens. I just went back and read through the old Hobbit thread from 2014 where everyone was hoping for more LOTR sets and weird things were happening with the rumors and lack of rumors. Hoping for some positive news about the theme coming back. For me the ideal things that they could do next year would be 5 play sets plus a CMF line, but we really need some good news for the theme.
  7. Does anyone think a recolor/ new print of Aragog would work as a shelob? I was looking at the old shelob next to aragog and thought with some small changes it could be a decent set. I would at least buy it if the did it that way.
  8. Nice usage, what combo of parts are those? (outside of Nien's head)
  9. How much do we expect the mini figures to sell for from this set separately? Trying to determine if it makes more sense to buy the set or just the mini figures. Is the model worth $250 on its own? Are we thinking $250 or more for the mini figures? Or under $250 for mini figures? I think this determination or a really good deal (2XVIP and a good GWP may 4th maybe?) will decide if I buy it or not. Current Prices for old version of minifigures - estimate form bricklink. Jabba - $45. Leia - $85. C-3PO - $2. R2-D2 - $2. Salacious - $40. Max Rebo - $75. Klatooinian - $3. Gamorrean - $10. Bib - $20. Woof - N/A? Vizam - N/A?
  10. Haha all jokes aside my ultimate dream set for Lego LOTR is a CMF line. I would love so many other sets, but premier minifigures with unique pieces that would be accessible to buy multiples of and get my kids is my top wish for Lego LOTR. Seeing HP, Marvel, DD, has shown how awesome a LOTR line could be with that detail and special parts.
  11. Or those of us who played the decipher CCG and had all the unique ISDs. on a different note, I wish Lego would stop with doubling down on some of these subthemes. Like the helmets, we have two rumored helmets for next year after a year off. Last year we had three starship line this year we have two rumored. Then dioramas went from three to two to one and now likely none (hopefully we will see play sets with minifigs later in the year as the Star Wars selection is lacking for kids right now so I’m good without a diorama as much as I want mustafar, Jabbas throne, or an ISD bridge). I would just prefer consistency with these sub themes, like pick one or two slots per year for dioramas, one or two per year for helmets, and the same for starships. That way whichever theme you like to collect you get some consistency with. They come out with a modular every year, not sure why we can’t get one diorama every year. Battle packs, and microfighters are similar (we can count on at least one each year). It makes purchasing weird because one year you might try to buy three sets and then not have any the next year. these types of sets are geared more for collectors (18+ displays). I would think collectors would want one diorama a year to plan for and buy vs. an unknown amount.
  12. Maybe we just need a whole CMF of gollum inspired characters. Like Gollum Legolas, Gollum Alfred, etc.
  13. I have been wondering the reliability of those leakers. I have not heard of them before but I keep seeing the YouTube videos and some posts that they are doing smaller sets next year. My guess is that they are just guessing and hoping to hit on a very possible scenario. The “leaks” seem early and there is no strong track record from what I can tell. Sounds like you are proposing a battle pack comprised of Legolas, Alfred, Gollum, and the necromancer. Could be a big seller.
  14. replaying Lego LOTR and I really want Edoras set to get the theoden before and after encountering Gandalf versions in minifig form. Plus the printing on horses would be awesome.
  15. Agreed, Gondor please, and more new things! We have a good Helm's deep and Bag End (I know and agree UCS styles would be even better) but let's get something we haven't had before with Gondor. I am all for Gondor soldiers, Tree guards, Faramir, Rangers, Witch King, Trolls, etc. I would even like a Donathor with tomatoes mini fig before another helms deep or bag end (I would like a party tree with some proud feet or Farmer Maggot though). I would also be good with Edoras or Lorien. Lets get some Gondor though.
  16. Wish they would say something sooner in the process (at least confirmation if we will or will not get more future sets even if they don't say what or how many). I still am not over how they ended the LOTR theme last time around. It felt like we were in the middle of something great, and then nothing. Where was Gondor when the theme fell? Hoping the same does not happen this time, I would really like some Gondor soldiers and guards. (Maybe some rangers too)
  17. Agreed. I think Lego for sure knows and would have already need to start some form of production at this point for a set next year. It would be nice to have an indication that a set is coming or not. We had a pretty long lead up to Rivendell (September) and I think some rumors that there would be LOTR were well before that. Then Barad Dur had some rumors and leaks a year in advance, plus the designers saying if Rivendell sold well there would be more future LOTR. But it has been rather silent if we will see more sets this next year. Just hoping that it is that leakers don't know yet, but curious if there is nothing and they are waiting for the first Gollum movie in 2026 for the theme, and 2025 will have nothing.
  18. The real question is does it make more sense to buy the set, or wait and see if the mini figures will be worth buying on Bricklink much cheaper in the near future.
  19. Agreed that the leakers seem to be missing on a lot lately (although the Death Star rumor seemed right for the minifigs even though it turned out to be an ISD). I am curious if we believe the rumors that LOTR will have more sets next year and it is just trying to figure out what the set will be. I would love to know that we will see more sets but I am concerned that we will not until the new movies come out (they are clearly skipping past War of the Rohirim as nothing is coming out around the movie this year).
  20. I voted 8 and had the first two same issues. Price, should be 400-450 USD. Minifigs could have used one or two more to keep it at 500, or the price should have dropped to the 450 range for the existing number of minifigs. An additional complaint, I am disappointed it is not the UCS C-3PO, why wouldn't they include that one on a $500 set when it is currently in production for a much cheaper set. Big miss from Lego in my opinion. I do want to buy this (would be my first UCS purchase). But I want to wait it out and see if there is a good discount. What they should really do is make the Sciff and Sarlacc set the GWP for it after the lightsaber runs out. That would be pretty cool and would justify the price for me to buy now.
  21. I looked at them for a little, but did not buy them. I wished they had included parts other than just the torso that were LOTR themed. Like I could get that torso with a sword, or orc helmet or something. The price was not worth it to me for one torso print (and then some spares I didn't care about or need).
  22. LOTR CMF would be the best. With all the detail CMFs get I would be there for it. I have been more conservative in my Lego spend this year but I would buy way too many LOtR CMFs.
  23. I really want to see the images of the sail barge. I am a little concerned about how they do Jabba given the weird eyes lately. Are we thinking early September reveal?
  24. Agreed, a new mound makes more sense and would be more in line with what Lego has done with other themes for something like that. Even if they destroyed the mound (likely) theoretically they have the digital version but Lego seems to prefer completely new mounds over recreating older ones.
