  1. We got New 52 Martian Manhunter this year too.
  2. No, it's a diamond. Like in the other sets, it's supposed to be a perfume bottle. There's plenty of "roses" in the form of red flower studs all over the set though. Speaking of the purple cones, it looks like they have a glittery finish as well. I kinda like the spindle. Honestly, I can't think of a better way to build one, especially with such a low piece count. I don't think so. The movie is still really popular and Disney is keeping up the interest with the Frozen story arc in Once Upon A Time, so I'm sure it will still sell like hotcakes.
  3. All these sets look pretty good. I like how this wave seems like a throwback to the first wave with the red box art, all the purple pieces and bones on the bad guy vehicles, and some of the similar set designs (the Jungle Trap is like Ninja Ambush, the Anacondrai temple is like Garmadon's Fortress, and the Dojo Showdown is like the Spinjitzu Dojo). I also like some of the Adventurer's elements in these sets such as collapsing bridges, spike pits, etc. I think I'll get the Jungle Trap to get Kai's hair and the snake skull, and so that I can use those blades as weapons for Green Lantern.
  4. Yeah, the Jasmine set certainly is a disappointment. I didn't expect much from Raja since animals tend to be very inaccurate in this theme, but the absence of Aladdin is sorely disappointing. Even the carpet kind of sucks with all those extra bits for holding the figures in place. I think I will skip this set and hope we will get a proper palace with Aladdin and maybe Abu someday. The Sleeping Beauty set is also just meh. Again, I was expecting a little more, like one of the fairies like in the Duplo set, not the same white rabbit we've had before. The two larger sets on the other hand look even better than before. I wasn't too opposed to the lavender stairs, but light aqua definitely looks better. And we can now confirm that those rock panels do indeed have a glittery finish. Unfortunately, the snowflake is still purple, but oh well. There's also still a distinct lack of doors, but the cold never bothered Elsa anyway. The Undersea Palace also looks better with all the decals and that friggin golden slide (Ariel is so spoiled. Why did she want to leave again?). Still not a fan of the magenta roof and railing though. Overall, this wave is just OK and could have been a lot better. It still has the same problems of having too much girly colors and poor character selections, so I wouldn't say it's an improvement. The fact that there are 4 sets instead of 5 doesn't help either. The Frozen set is about the only one that's really good. Anyway, thanks for the pics again, just2good, and get well soon.
  5. Can't you just tell us the name of the site so we can look it up? No offense, but it's kinda hard to believe you when you can't back up your claims. Don't worry, you wont get booted off the site just like that. You usually get a warning first, and links are usually just removed if they are spam or confidential pictures, so maybe you're just doing something wrong. The prices sound reasonable for the most part, although I do agree with StreakofBlue that the Darkseid set should be less, despite the new molds it includes. Sorry, but I disagree. While I have to admit that the Batboat is better than the Batsub, this set is much better minifigure-wise since Black Manta is new and better than that constipated Mr. Freeze. This Batman variant is also much more useful than Arctic Batman (unless you're planning to get the Grodd set) and you get a new Robin to boot. The scenery and Manta's sub are pretty cool too in my opinion. Well worth paying double the price. As for the Batmech, I don't think it's that bad either. It certainly could have been better, but it's good enough. The only thing that kind of bothers me is that the cockpit is so exposed, but I understand that they did this so that Batman can "super-jump" out of it.
  6. I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not very excited about these sets. They are certainly some of the best cars Lego has produced to date, it's just not my cup of tea. However, if this theme keeps going and they do muscle cars such as a Mustang, I just might change my mind. Thanks for the pics.
  7. Yeah, I'm afraid of that too... I know what you mean, but it makes sense when you think about it. This way we can have Cyborg with a hand and with a cannon, and he can actually shoot something. Speaking of weapon inaccuracies, one nitpick I have is that Hawkman's weapon should be a mace, not a flail. The weapon he has in the game is much more accurate in my opinion, but I can easily make that myself, so it's really just a minor gripe.
  8. I agree, both on the hover canon and the Parademon, but regarding the latter, I think we are already getting spoiled with this wave as it is, so I'm not complaining. Indeed. We might also see Bizzaro in a set if they keep making JL sets, perhaps without the sign on his chest.
  9. Hehe, I just might have to do a funny like that. But seriously, I am so glad they did it this way because I was always a bit annoyed that Jetpack-Batman always has to walk around with his wings spread out.
  10. Or seating them in the Javelin.
  11. These all look fantastic, thanks! It's funny how Gorilla Grodd and Hawkman's wings are still preliminary in the "final" out-of-box pictures. Darkseid is a little disappointing since he not only has the hunched-over pose as we feared, but a constipated face as well. But I'm just glad we're finally getting him. I love that they include open and closed wings for both Batman and Hawkman.
  12. Yeah, I would have expected it to come with the Copper-chopper as well. This makes me doubt that we're even getting the chopper, unless maybe this is some kind of trick to make people buy both sets, by making them combinable? There are no pictures of that set either, so unless it's a store exclusive, we probably wont get it. Isn't it obvious? Because giant waffles are awesome. DO NOT QUESTION THE WAFFLE!
  13. OMGOSH! I love the DDC set! It makes no sense in context with the movie, but it's pretty much one big fan service in a box. It's like they just threw everything that fans have asked for in a set and included a waffle for good measure. And I'm okay with that. Can't wait for this and the Batman set. The Bad Cop set is kind of boring to me, although I do like that they included a chair for Bad Cop to kick and some new expressions for him and Lucy.
  14. Looks like these Technic panels to me. Looking at the reference pic I posted above, the ship should be a lot flatter at that part, so I think it's a safe bet that they used those pieces there to make it easy to open and seat some Leaguers inside. However, considering the size of the ship, it probably only fits 2, 3 figs tops (which I guess is enough for the number of heroes in the set, especially since two of them can fly).
  15. Haha, thanks for keeping the thread going in my absence with these great funnies! Now that the Exo Suit challenge is over, I can get back to making funnies! Here is some more with the GotG. 16. Oh... Well, I don't have a 3DS or a Wii U, so that doesn't matter to me. Oh yeah, forgot about that... Well, I don't want to judge it before I've actually seen it, but from what I've seen so far, "amazing" is not the word I would use to describe that show.
  17. Why? What else is coming out?
  18. I like it the way it is. After all, it was nearly white in the TV show and Lego has been known to make things white when the source material is light gray, like they have done with every X-Wing and Snowspeeder since the first editions, so I don't think it'll change much. The only color choice that seems odd is the red on the wings. I guess they felt the need to add some more color. It's not accurate, but it looks good, so I don't mind it, although blue might have been a better choice
  19. That sounds fair, thanks.
  20. The Gotham premiere was pretty good for what it was, but I'm still not convinced that it can effectively distract from the fact that it is a Batman show without Batman. In fact, it seems to go out of its way to throw out subtle and not-so-subtle references every minute or so to remind you that this show is a Batman origins story. I hope they only did this for the pilot to get people's attention and that the whole show wont be just one big Bat-tease as I feel like it will otherwise just end up disappointing its fans when you don't actually get to see these characters become the villains you know and love. It certainly seems like it will be a good cop show, but if it will be a good Batman show remains to be seen. Considering this is DC's answer to Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, it's better than that show, I'll give it that, although that's not a big achievement. Bullock and Penguin were definitely the standouts here, and Mooney and Gordon were pretty good too. The good acting along with the high production value give this show some promise, so I'll keep watching even though I'm only cautiously optimistic. Well, he did get his waddle from Mooney's beating, so that's at least something. Yeah, that threw me off too, but I don't mind the age change. I agree with this as well. Not saying they should give him the somewhat stereotypical depiction he has in the comics, but he seemed kind of boring for a mob boss. That shouldn't be too hard. Movie version Karai's hair is pretty much perfect for her. As for the live-action Titans, I am not sure how they're gonna pull it off on a TV budget, but it can't be worse than Teen Titans Go! right?
  21. Not to be mean toward the effected entrants, but I don't think we should allow entries that don't follow the rule as it would be unfair toward those of us who tried to stick to the rules by working with the limitations of non-extended LDD mode. Perhaps you can give the entrants with currently disqualifying entries an extra week or so to update their entry to follow the rules. If there are still entries after that period that noticeably break that rule, they should be disqualified. I know this is more time consuming, but I think if you're going to set a rule, you should enforce it too. That's my opinion anyway, and I wont feel hurt if you don't decide to go this route. Either way, I hope this will not effect future contests negatively in any way. This was a fun challenge and it would be a shame if the fun would get limited in future challenges simply because of such a technicality.
  22. Well, here's my third entry. Don't pretend you didn't see this coming. Buzz Lightyear is a member of the elite Universe Protection Unit of the Space Ranger Corps and the world's greatest hero. Stationed up in the Gamma Quadrant of Sector Four, he protects the galaxy from the threat of invasion from the evil Emperor Zurg, sworn enemy of the Galactic Alliance. As such, he comes up against challenges that are sometimes too big for one Space Ranger to handle, so he needs some extra muscle. In order to assist him in his ongoing mission to save the universe from the dark forces of evil, the LGM's (Little Green Men) constructed an exo-suit for him. Hehe, this is pretty cool. This confirms the MF for Ep.VII, and considering we only see the right side as well as some grassy hills in the background, it also means that those aerial from a few days ago were real. Looks like we can expect some X-Wings as well. Also, Anthony Daniels confirmed that C-3PO will be a practical suit, not CG. Aside from some of the whacky stuff he did in Ep.II, I didn't mind CG-3PO, but I'm sure this will make a lot of people happy. Not much news, but it's at least something.
  24. Yup, as you can see in my review, all of her parts except the head and torso were inside a China bag. I do hope they give her bracelets this time around. Mold-injected ones that go all around the arm like the Simpsons would be preferred of course, but printed ones ala the Battle Goddess would work too. Agreed, I also hope that he comes in his typical upright pose. I know that TLG does this leaning pose to make the bigfigs more balanced, especially when holding objects (they even gave Gollum this pose because of this), but it just wouldn't suit Darkseid. As for Grodd, the pose with the leg forward would probably work for him, although I think his back should lean backwards like that of a gorilla.
  25. I just noticed that the Bat-Mech is about the same size as Luthor's, which is good if you want to have the two fight each other. Ah, good to know I'm not the only one geeking out about that image. I'd say almost definitely. Martian Manhunter will probably be the same as the one in the game as well, which explains why he looks different from the promo fig. That promo fig seems kinda pointless now that we're getting him in a regular set. Oh well. It's also a bit disappointing that Aquaman seems like he'll be exactly the same as the one we've already gotten, but who cares about Aquaman anyway.
