  1. Oh, OK. Good. But still... Except for me and MacK, I don't see anyone posting pics at all, and we haven't had any pics for about 2 pages now. That's why I think that this comic-system doesn't work.
  2. There is a guy called Gareth over at FBTB who made a whole bunch of excellent UCS models. Most of them are quite small and would make great, affordable sets! Check them out in Gareth's Model Shop.
  3. Are you sure about that? At what point do we get it then - at Red Regiment, Red Legion, or the full Red Clone Army? What is the number of enlistments required? However, I'll go on that site and enter that code a couple of hundred times each day from now on. EDIT: I just brought it up to 35,700!
  4. It's actually pretty easy. Remember how Harry saved Dudley from two dementors at the beginning of Order of the Phoenix? All the lights in that street went out when they appeared, so that must mean that they can somehow suck up electricity as well! So, yeah, the BDs are pretty much screwed!
  5. According to Wikipedia, the MMORPG that is to be released in September is called "Avatar: Legends of the Arena". "Avatar: Universe" could be the third video game that will be released in September as well, even though it's a strange title for a game based on the show. An Avatar contest would be awesome but the execution of one is up to the admins, and I don't think that there will be a lot of people interested in it (except for all of you who posted here of course ). And yes, it would be great if TLG would make sets for the upcoming movies! Avatar MOCs and sets ON!
  6. Very good review! There's only one thing you did wrong:
  7. What do you mean by that? What is the TIE army style, and what is it that you want to do differently? Does this mean that you will only post a couple of sentences that add very little to the story like you just did? And does it mean that you have completely taken the comic aspect out of this game now? It's sad, but I think we have to accept that this experiment has failed.
  8. Hehe. Nice review! I liked that last part. I got this set too, and I am quite happy with it, even though I still think it's overpriced. What I like least about this set: The HSD is kinda unstable on it's feet and is not as posable as I would like it to be, but at least it doesn't fall over. What I like best about this set: The fact that you get two spare new blasters and twisted droid arms with it (if you don't give one of the blasters to the droid commander that is, who shouldn't have one IMO)! This way, you can exchange the normal arms with megaphones on them of two of the BDs from your Droid BP with them! I can recommend this set - it's definately one of the best this year!
  9. Oh, wait, I just looked at the pics of it again and it says "January 2009". Never mind. Just look at the 2008 Picture thread.
  10. Well, KimT, there are a couple of things. First of all, there are much better pics of the Fighter Tank, HSD, and Twilight of course. Also, there are two minis missing: The Mini Snowspeeder and the Mini Venator-class Star Destroyer, the second BrickMaster exclusive. Here are the pics: There is probably something else that I forgot right now, but I'll post it once it comes to my mind.
  11. What about the Mini Venator-class Star Destroyer?
  12. Prieviously on The Star Wars Comic Game: "Wait!" Oky Wan called out to Garviel. "What is it now?" asked Garviel out of the tunnel, a little annoyed by Oky Wan's questions. "Jim said that he and the others got captured" Oky Wan explained. "They need help, and we can't leave them behind. I received coordinates of their location shortly prior to his message. One or two of us should go and free him." "Hm... You're right," said Garviel, "but who's going to do it?" "I will." said Oky Wan. "But I will need backup. How about you, Mack, do you want to accompany me?" "Alright" said Mack. "That's settled then" said Garviel. "Once you hear the explosion, come to your ship as quick as possible. I'll set my comlink to the frequency of yours so that we can stay in touch. Now, let's go, men!" He went back into the tunnel and the orange clothed men followed him with tool crates full of explosives under their arms. Mack and Oky Wan grabed some weapons, left the hideout, and loaded them onto the stolen speeder that was parked outside. Oky Wan fed the coordinates into the navigation system of the speeder and started to drive toward that location. After a while, Oky Wan said "We should be close now. It's better if we go on on foot." They got off and walked for a little until they got to a bunker-like building. They crouched down behind some rocks to observe the situation. The door of the bunker was guarded by battle droids. "That's it alright" said Mack, "but how are we gonna get in?" Before Oky Wan could answer, the door of the bunker opened and, to their surprise, it was General Grievous who came out of it. Grievous turned around to the droid commander by the door and spoke to him in his menacing voice: "This place is crawling with Republic scum. Our operation is no longer safe on this planet. Tell the engineers to pack up the time machine. We are moving to Hoth." He turned away again and marched over to his Belbullab-22 starfighter, the Soulless One, which was on the landing platform nearby. He got in and took off. Meanwhile, the droids left to pass on the orders they had just recieved. After Grievous' ship had left the sinkhole, Oky Wan said: "Damn! We are too late to get to the machine, but at least we know where they're going with it. Let's get Jim and the others and get out of here!" They ran over to the door and entered. They went through a hallway with several doors until they got to a room with nothing but a table and some chairs. "The coordinates point to this room but I can't see Jim anywhere" said Oky Wan. Mack thought hard while Oky Wan looded around the room on one of the walls, he could see the small silver disk that either Jim or one of the others must have placed there to help Oky Wan find them. What caught his eyes next was the table. It had a couple of weapons laid out on it. Oky Wan recognized one of them as Jim's nailgun. "These are the weapons of Jim and his companions," he told Mack, "we should take them with us." "You know, I think I know where they could be" said Mack. "Remember how bad the reception of that message was? Maybe it was because they were underground!" "Hey, you're right," said Oky Wan, "you're a genius!" Instantly, they started searching the floor, and sure enough, they soon found the handle for a trap door. They opened it and climbed down the stairs that were behind it, with Jim, Thok, and Annix' weapons in their arms. They now found themselves in dark hallway where at the end there was a cell, and inside that cell there was... "Jim!" exclaimed Oky Wan and ran toward his friend. "Oky Wan! There you are! Took you long enough. Where were you?" said Jim with a grin. "Long story" said Oky Wan. "Jim, I want you to meet Mack; he is a Republic lieutnant who wants to help us in our mission. Where are Annix and Thok?" "I don't know. We have been seperated because General Grievous, who I suspect to be behind all this, wanted to do some kind of experiment with me." "Hm, that's odd. Oh well, let's get you out of here and then let's find the others" said Oky Wan and started tinkling around with the control panel of the prison cell...
  13. Yes, good luck. May the force be with all of you!
  14. It's definately the Street Sprinter for me! There are many reasons for that, most of which have been mentioned by others already: I hate yellow, it's the most useless color, but I love tan and dark red. It's bigger and more detailed than the Coast guard one. Plus, I think there is a hinge in the back of it, so there is apparently some more playability to it as well. I love the post-apoc style fig! It's detailed and simply looks cool! Also, while the Digger fig has quite an individual look to it, the Coast Guard driver has the generic hero head and Coast Guard uniform. It's an overal better deal, especially if you count the LUDP which gives the set a whole lot more playability, no matter how U the LDP may be. Tan & post-apoc figs ON!
  15. Are you sure? I mean, even if they are the Phase 1 version of that battalion, shouldn't they have some kind of markings on their armor as well? These are the exact same clones that they had for the clone speed build contest, btw, so I already own one.
  16. I'm finally done with my entry! It's huge! I hope you like it and that all expectations have been met and possibly exceeded! I personally am very satisfied with it; I thinks it's one of the best MOCs I have done to date. The idea of creating a battle scene on Dagobah was inspired by a level in SW Battlefront II. This may be an odd place for a war (who would want to fight over such a slimy mudhole? ), but I thought it was an interesting setting for a battle. Unfortunately, my Flickr account doesn't let me save any more images than the ones you can see there right now, so it's hard for me to show you all the details I have put into it. But it says it's only for this month, so if it lets upload more pics tomorrow, I'll open a seperate thread for my mega-bignette. Any questions or comments? As for you guys, good job! Those are some nice last-minute entries! This will be an exceptionally tough contest!
  17. Battle of Dagobah (non-cannon) During the Battle of Dagobah, the ARC Republic Gunship of Obi Wan Kenobi and Commander Cody and their troops is shot down by the CIS forces. They crash-land in a swamp behind enemy lines where the LAAT immediately starts to sink. So, General Kenobi and his men defend themselves against the countless battle droids that have them surrounded now. As time and troops run out, Kenobi fears the worst. But then, he could see help coming through the fog: Anakin Skywalker and his apprentice Ahsoka Tano, who had been on an inspection on Kamino and recieved their distress signal, arrive with a whole new batch of clone troopers with improved armor. They come in an AT-TE walker and several smaller vehicles. And so, Anakin and Ahsoka fight their way through the army of droids, trying to reach Obi Wan and Cody before it's too late... Please visit my Flickr photostream for more detailed pics.
  18. Wow! That is one nice bignette there, Pedro! Good Job! Can't wait for the folder to become public. The only thing that I don't like about it is that it is very similar to mine. My bignette is about a downed ship whose crew needs rescue as well, but it's a different ship on a different planet.
  19. All this "Limited Edition" junk is making me angry as well. I get the feeling they are making that up to make the cheapest sets of a line just as expensive as the others. What ever happened to those neat little sets that were $5-$10 and had like two minifigs and some scenery and/or a small vehicle, like in the first wave of Episode 1 sets? Why can't you at least release one or two such sets these days, TLG, why?
  20. Yes, thanks Nonaparte, we needed this! But what's wrong with smileys? I like them, they let me express my feelings very well. So, is one smiley per sentence (like in this post) OK?
  21. Who are you talking about? If it's Grievous, then you got something wrong; you must have missed this part:
  22. I agree completely! I kinda wonder what happened to Azula in the end. But I guess she had the same fate as her father: Getting her bending taken away by Aang and being thrown into prison... or a psychatric hospital. How did you get those excellent stills, cartoondude? Apparently, you somehow used the screen print feature - I can see the EB interface on the side of one or two of them.
  23. No problem, Jim. But I think I misunderstood something. I thought you were talking about simple towers (as in big columns), but after looking at some pics of Mygeeto, I think you are talking about those towers that seem to be made out of several disks as seen in this scene: Therefore, I take back my advice to use bricks instead of plates when using that technique. This way you'll be able to make several small rings, each with a different radius, and insert long plates that connect two ends of each ring through the center, so that they are stackable. Then, you could make a tower of normal 2x2 bricks for example, and put the rings in between every three bricks or so, so that the rings ave some space between them. Do you know what I mean? If not, you could also just stack a bunch of radar dishes on top of each other, always with a brick between them to create the inbetween-space. If you could include the new Fighter Tank into this, it would be awesome, but unfortunately they're not released here yet. I mean in SW. When there are such interesting places like Coruscant, Cloud City, Felucia, etc., a simple forest with treehouses like on Kashyyyk or Endor seems rather boring to me. However, when you do Kashyyyk, it would be great if you could include the new DGS and/or HSD! Which of the old sets do you have?
  24. Well, if you have a whole bunch of blue 1x2 bricks and 1x1 round bricks (or enough cash to get them from PAB), then you could use this technique: Of course you would have to use bricks instead of plates. It may not be very stable, but it's quite effective neverthless. On a side note, I'm a little surprised. I thought you had most of the Mygeeto thing done already. However, I am looking forward to these ... except for Kashyyyk maybe, I don't like forests that much. And I wont be getting the Volcano base anytime soon either - I didn't know it was 70 bucks!
  25. ...or would have read any description of the new AT-TE or Twilight sets.
