  1. Yeah, this set really isn't that great. It's just the droid BP and the Hailfire droid sets put together, plus Rex and four other clones. So, nothing worth spending $75 for. Then again, if you were to sell those figs and sets over ebay... Thanks for sharing though.
  2. I know that this is the logical answer, but have you actually, physically tried it? Cause I think/hope they might fit anyway. In the pic that DSR posted, it loods like there are some black slopes behind that "door", as if there was something supposed to slide in or out of there.
  3. Alright, so I looked at the instructions AND the pics from Toy Fair, and I have made an estimation of the width of the new AT-TE. Judging from photos, the middle legs seem to each stand at least six studs further out than the ones at the front and back. So, we just have to add two times six studs to the 14 studs that make up the chasis of the AT-TE and the 3 1/2 studs that every front and rear foot sticks out under that chasis on each side. That means, this is what we get: 14+(2x6)+(2x3 1/2)=33 So, whoever is planning on using the new AT-TE in their entry needs to have at least 50x33 studs of free baseplate space available for it.
  4. Interesting thread, Jim, and a very nice first diorama! I can't wait to see more! Can you tell us which other scenes you are planning on recreating? I hope that one of them will be that Mygeeto diorama you were talking about for a while! I want to start making some dioramas myself - beginning with my CW contest entry. Once I get 8637 Volcano Base, I will totally make a Mustafar diorama for example. PT ON!
  5. Do you guys think there will be an Agents set that is set in space someday? Perhaps some kind of orbital HQ for either the good or the bad guys, or maybe some kind of doomsday satelite from Dr. Inferno? I mean, they have done pretty much everything else, right?
  6. Stop calling them "Manga Guards", people, that sounds silly! It's Magna Guards! Sorry, but I just hate mangas.
  7. This list of rumors is nothing but a list of those sets people wish for that are most likely to actually be released. But yes, Clone and Droid BP are the most reasonable among them; I think we said that about a hundred times in every thread now. Why we need another droid BP? Well, duh, because we need one with the new arms and blasters, and because there is a chance that it will include Magna Guards! And I agree with the pics simonjedi posted.
  8. Today, the last few episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender premiered on Nickelodeon in a movie called "Sozin's Comet - the Final Battle". I saw it, and I thought it was amazing! It was as good as you could expect and better! Now, with the show having ended, I thought it would be a good time to review it. I think that it was a masterpiece that was the best epic series since Harry Potter! I loved all the characters, designs, the humor and the overal feel of the show. The animation was some of the best that you can find on TV these days, and it was very well written too. The character developement, the stories, the interwovenness of the different episodes, and even the correography of the fight scenes were simply brilliant! A big bravo to the creators and makers of it! But as much as I liked this show, it makes me sad that they are planning to make a live-action version of it. It may be interesting seeing real versions of Aang and his friends, but since the show was perfect as it was, they can only make it worse. Oh well, I guess it can't be any worse than the Ember Island Players' take on it! So, my question is: Are there any other Avatar fans here on EB? What are your thoughts about the show? Were you satisfied by the ending? And why are we seeing so few Avatar MOCs? (Of course, this is a hater-free zone. )
  9. Because this thread is newer, and because it's so hard to decide - they're ALL so good! My fav set of all time is the Mos Espa Podrace! You get three big, highly detailed Pods; almost all minifigs from the Episode 1 wave + Sebulba, Gasgano, and pit droids; and a whole bunch of parts you don't get anywhere else! The only downsides are that they don't actually hover and are therefore kinda hard to swoosh, and that the energy beams are orange instead of purple/pink. It's a great set and I still regret having taken it apart! Also, there are some personal reasons why I like this set so much. One of them is that I just love Podracing! The other is that I got this set from my parents for getting a good grade in math, so I have even more reason to be proud to own it! Podracing ON!
  10. You know, if you only want the green part of it, you can just cut it out and apply it. Btw, AoNZ mentioned that he has seen the whole sticker sheet somewhere. Does anyone have a pic of it?
  11. The Super Battle Droid who opened the door for them ordered Oky Wan, Mack, and Garviel to step out. They did as they were told and stood now in front of the deep, square pit that took up most of the cavern-like arena. At the sides of it, there were bleachers filled with all of Utapau's underworld scum. After estimating the depth of the pit, Oky Wan turned to Mack and asked: "Er, Mack... about your plan... Did you ever think about how we are going to get the sharakan out of the pit and into the audience?" "Oh," said Mack surprised, "uhm... actually..." But he had no time to finish mumbling because in that moment, the Super Battle Droid had snuck up on them and pushed them over the edge into the pit. They landed on the hard ground, but fortunately didn't take any real damage. As they looked up, they could see Draze & Garr smirking down on them. "They wont be laughing for long," thought Mack. After they got back on their feet, a man who introduced himself as Doc Russo spoke to the audience through a microphone: "Ladies and Gentle-aliens, welcome to the Utapau Pit Fighting Arena! Today, we have a very special selection of competitors: One of them is a sharakan, a beast that is half shark and half man!" The crowd cheered. "The other is a group of Republic spies that we have caught trying to expose our activities here!" The crowd booed and started to chant "Kill them". After a moment, Russo carried on: "Now, I hope that you have all placed your bets! Let the fight begin!" The crowd began cheering again, this time much louder. With a crane that was mounted to the ceiling, a Utai worker lowered a big cage into the pit that contained the hybrid beast. In that moment, Mack got an idea: "Hey, guys, I think I know how to get the sharakan out of here now!" Behind his back, he slowly pulled out the blaster he "borrowed" from Garr... He waited until the cage touched the ground. Then, he quickly shot the cable on the hook of the cage, so that the Utai couldn't pull the cage back up. "Good," said Mack, "Now all we need to do is..." But in that moment, the creature in front of them started to rage in its cage. It hit repeatedly against the gate that kept him locked inside, and after the fifth hit or so, the lock on the bars finally broke. The sharakan pushed the gate open, steped outside, and got on his hind legs to show all of its might. "Watch out," shouted Garviel to the others, "This guy looks hungry!" The monster moved slowly toward them, growling all the way. Then, all of a sudden and with shark-like reflexes, it leaped forward. Mack and Garviel could jump aside just in time, but Oky Wan was too slow; the beast already had him in his muscular arms. Hanging upside-down, he belowed to his friends: "Er, guys... A LITTLE HELP?" "Don't worry," said Mack, "I'm on it!" He aimed his blaster at a point slightly above Garr and fired a few shots until he ran out of ammo. Garr, Draze, and the crowd around them started to panic and screamed. All that noise made the sharakan so nervous that he dropped Oky Wan. After a while, it didn't seem to be able to take much more of the noise and ran toward the source of it. The beast climbed onto the cage, and from there onto the edge of the pit. It started to snap at the crowd, who was now really in panic, and finally got a hold on Garr's leg. While Garr screamed in pain, Draze watched helplessly as his partner got eaten alive. "Serves him right" muttered Mack and dropped down the empty blaster. In that moment, a pick broke through the dry ground and out of the hole came... "Xela! You made it!" said Oky Wan. "Who the heck is that?" asked Garviel. "One of the other pit fighting slaves," explained Mack, "he is helping us to escape. Now let's blow this dump!" Xela got back into the hole and, one after the other, the rest followed him. They now walked through the mines that Xela has been forced to work in all this time. To their surprise, it was illuminated by the glowing from the chrystals that were coming out of the rock all around them. "Xela, are those the chrystals that you were to harvest?" asked Oky Wan. "Yes," said Xela, "but as I said, I have no idea what the seperatists want with them - they're worthless." Oky Wan turned to Mack and whispered into his ear: "I think they might be part of the time machine. I'll take one with me for examination." So, he broke one of them out of the rock and let it slide into his pocket. As the gang could see a light at the end of the tunnel, Xela told them: "We're almost there." When they reached the end, they stepped outside and felt the Sun warm their skin. But once their eyes got used to the day light, they noticed that they were surrounded by Super Battle Droids! "Hey, Garviel, do you still have those flash grenades?" Mack asked hopefully. Garviel searched his pockets, but couldn't find them. "Dammit!" he said, "I must have dropped them when we fell into the pit!" "Great," said Oky Wan, "What now?" And the moral of this episode is "Don't be a traitor, or else you'll get eaten by sharkmen." I hope you liked it. Sorry for the poor scenery, but as I said, I am a little busy right now. I hope the sharakan is OK, though. If I had this Harry Potter set, I would have used the Victor Krum fig, but I think it looks more menacing this way. And have fun at camp, Jim, I'll wach out that nobody does anything stupid around here while you're gone!
  12. Both the old Sith Infiltrator and MTT were pretty blocky and out of proportion!
  13. Are you kidding me? The Podrace of course! If you already have the cool new MTT with its 20 new droids and blasters, why would you waste your money to buy the poorly designed old one? There's nothing special about it. The Podrace, on the other hand, has 3 huge, highly detailed Pods with parts that you don't get anywhere else, like all the orange pieces on Sebulba's Pod. Also, it comes with almost all Episode 1 minifigs, + Sebulba and Gasgano! Sebulba is kinda useless (1 mold), but Gasgano's head is very useful for custom aliens, especially angry Kaminoans! Believe me, you won't regret getting this set! It is one of my favorite sets ever, and I still regret having taken it apart.
  14. Nah I'm too lazy for that. Seriously, though, I have considered it, but I just don't think that I can make one that is nearly as good as the official one , and I don't have the right parts in the right color to build one from the official instructions. Then again, maybe it would be interesting having a recolored version of it ... Oh well, I'll see what I can do. Thanks! Exactly!
  15. I have, Silly but how am I supposed to find out how many studs those angled TECHNIC legs are putting the feet away from the body?
  16. No, sorry, they're not even from me it's just a brickshelf find.
  17. Hey, guys! I just saw a commercial for the National Train Show 2008 which will take place in the Anaheim Convention Center in California from Friday, July 18, to Sunday, July 20. Click here for more info. It says that there will be a big section made out of LEGO! So, I was just wondering if anyone else will be going.
  18. Alright, that's fine then! I'm building the pit arena now. I should have it up by tonight. Oh, and also, when you post in the future, please don't write in first person. This game is like a story that is being told by us, and not from the POV of each of the different characters.
  19. Nice to see that you're still with us, simonjedi! It's also good that you have teamed up with Jim and the others now, but unfortunately, there are some mistakes in your post. If you would have followed the last few posts, you would know that Mack and I are now out of the cell and in the arena already, while brickbreaker (his character's name is Xela Mirinatan btw) is making his way through the tunnels below us. Therefore, I will have to ask you kindly to remove Mack's, brickbreaker's, and my sentences from your post. And your explanation of Skipper24's Obi Wan affair does make sense. Thanks!
  20. Ok, now I'm totally confused! Damn you, brickbreaker! JK. But I think that we should continue the story as if the pit fighting arena was on Utapau all along since anything else would be too confusing. And since I have some time again, I will post the fight. I'll work on it tonight!
  21. Interesting Topic! Well, basically you can stick anything that can be hold by a minifig hand into those holes. What's special about the old torsos is that you can push long sticks such as lightsaber blades all the way through! Here is an example: So, if you want to make a cyborg, you could use two of these TECHNIC pieces for the arms and stick an EF robot claw into each of them for hands for example. Or you can use other robot arm pieces like this: What's also fun to do, is to stick a flex tube through there and attach minifig hands at the end! Thereby, you get a guy with really long arms like this character from the anime "One Piece": But you can always get creative and insert all kinds of random pieces in those holes. Just experiment a little, and you will be able to create mutants like this: Oh, and there's also a very interesting arm technique for the modern torsos: You can find some ideas on how to use this technique here. For even more ideas, you can just search Brickshelf - as you can see, it's full of them. HTH. Any questions?
  22. Can you make a review please?
  23. Oh. I thought this whole time that it was on Utapau. So, does this mean that while MacK and I were unconcious, we were transported back to Coruscant? That kind of sucks since we won't be able to help the others now. Well, at least we can meet up with Skipper24 and some other players instead, I guess. However, you can go ahead with posting the fight; I am kinda busy since my school started again. That's a cool Comic Game ad you made there! You should post it in your sig! You might want to shoose a more readable color for the writing, though. Btw, if you want the color in your posts to work, you have to make sure that you have something like this after your post: [/color]
  24. I don't understand what cells you're refering to. Can you (or someone) please explain this to me? About your pics, I recommend using Flickr.
  25. Really? Where did you see that? That must have been a custom. ... You ARE talking about Phase 2 clones and not about the new Phase 1s, right? I mean, it's obvious that the new clones will have them; that was never the question.
