"What do you mean 'we have to fight a sharakan tomorrow'?" asked Oky Wan. "Well, that guy - Parrah Dox was it? - has sold you as slaves to our boss. Welcome to the Pit Fighting business!" said Xela. "What?" shouted MacK, "Pit Fighting? We don't have time for this! We need to get out of here!" "What do you think we were trying to do this whole time?" said one of the other prisoners, "We all want to get out, but thanks to you, the tunnel that we were digging collapsed." Mack hastily searched his pockets. After a while, he said: "Damn! They stripped us of all weapons and comlinks! We are on our own!" "Are you agents of the Republic?" Xela asked excitedly. "Yes," said Oky Wan, "and we are on a secret mission that is fatal to the future of the entire galaxy!" "Ha! I knew you would come!" Xela turned to one of the men behind him and said: "You owe me 20 Credits, Mendis!" After Mendis grumbled something in response, Xela turned back to MacK and Oky Wan and said: "Tell you what: If you can get us outta here, I can help you with your mission!" MacK thought about this for a second, then he said "Alright, I guess we will need some men power to get out of here, so you have a deal! But for now, you all should rest. I will think of a plan in the meanwhile." "Very good," said Oky Wan, "I can use some sleep. I feel like I haven't slept for 2 months!" So, they all laid down, while MacK sat in a corner and pondered about how they could escape. After a while, he, too, fell asleep. On the next morning, they were woken up by the thunder of applause that seemed to come from the fighting arena... It's time to kick some sharakan butt! Let's just hope MacK will come up with a good plan. The 2-months thing is a refference to how long this game has been going - it started on May 15th. On a side note: It makes me sad that players in this game are taking the "comic" out "SW Comic Game" by not posting with pics at all. I'm not expecting everyone to make a moc for every post, but to at least do it once in a while.

Do you mean the Lego Retail Store in Downtown Disney? If so, I'll have to check it out! Btw, over at FBTB, they have a high-res pic of the Mini Turbo Tank. Perhaps it should be added to the first post? Here it is:
-
I know, but that's not what I meant. I mean, does it count as overhang (which would be OK) or as being off-baseplate (which is not OK)?
-
I would say... Lego Retail Store: 85% TRU: 15%
-
I have a question: Would it count as over-hang if only half of my AT-TE (the four front & middle legs) was on the baseplate of the bignette or is that a violation of the everything-has-to-be-on-a-baseplate rule?
-
Sweet! Thanks for sharing! I still wonder though if they will be available for preorder before then. Could be. Try setting it to USA.

Congratulations, svelte corps! I really think you deserved to win, although some of the other entries were pretty good as well! Just a few days ago, it seemed as if I would win, but then everyone started to vote for your MOC and story all of a sudden. Oh well. Thanks for this great contest Sinner!

Sigh! It's good to see all those different SW characters all together like that! No matter if they are seperatists or Republicans, imperials or rebels, they appear to like each other. Seems like peace and harmony has come to your LSW universe! Congratualations! We call this type of thing a 'display' here btw, Bob. Honestly, I usually prefer a little more order in such a display, but since yours looks pretty good like that, I can't complain! Welcome to EB, and may the force be with you! I hope to see more great SW MOCs from you! I think he means that it's on four levels/shelfs.

I just looked at the trailer for 'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' again, and I have to say that it looks REALLY promissing! I mean it has everything you can ask from a good adventure movie with a fantasy-ish plot that is centered on a chinese mythos: A kickass reawakened mummy (Jet Li! ), an evil AND a good undead army, old airplanes with loopy pilots, some kind of Yeti, and a three-headed dragon! I am very excited about this movie and can't wait to get out my Orient Expedition sets and Castle skeletons to make a MOC from the movie! Oh, and "Batman - Gotham Knight" looks pretty good as well, even though I usually despise Anime and wasn't all that thrilled by "AniMatrix".

I'm not sure, but I think he said something about being a little busy these days and that he wouldn't post much for a while.

MacK and his crew entered the atmosphere of Utapau. On the way, they passed some starfighter debrees, most of which seemed to originate from destroyed Vulture droids. There were also some pieces of a Republic ship, which increased Oky Wan's worries about companions in trouble. "There seemed to be a hell of a battle," said MacK, "but it looks like we are not gonna have any trouble landing on the planet. I bet it was that drug lord who called these droid fighters as a distraction." "Sir," said the Copilot, "we just recieved another transmission, but this time it's comming from our outpost on Hoth!" "The ice planet?" asked MacK, "What do they want?" "They, too, are asking for backup, Sir. And they sound quite desperate if I may add." "Well, they're gonna have to wait," said MacK, "We don't have time for that. Just relay the message back to coruscant again. We can see what we can do once we did our job here." "Yes, Sir," replied the sergeant. They flew into one of the sinkholes and landed on a landing platform. Once they had left the ship, Draze and Garr left off to find their drug dealer contacts. In that moment, MacK and Oky Wan were approached by one of their disguised contacts who told them that there was a Pau'an waiting for them on the next level. He said that the Pau'an insisted that they reported right after arrival. Although MacK didn't like the sound of that, they agreed and took a Utai hover taxi to the next higher level. They got off near one of the giant windmills where the afore mentioned Pau'an was waiting for them under a large archway. MacK was the first to approach him. He said: "Hi there... er, you wanted to see us?" "Ah, yes, greetings," said the Pau'an in a calm voice, "welcome to Tapa City. My name is Parrah Dox and I am the head of this society." "Nice to meet you," said MacK and Oky Wan almost at the same time. "What brings you here if I may ask?" asked Dox. "Oh, we are just a couple of entrepreneurs looking for resources that we can use to start a business." "Hm... That is rather strange, I have to say, since there are almost no recources left around here," remarked Dox suspiciously. "Well, uhm..." MacK muttered. He didn't know that. Feverishly, he tried to think of something to say. "You see, er, we are very good at finding things that others don't... So... if you would just let us stay here for a while and look around, we would appreciate it very much!" "You know," said Dox, "I like to think of myself as an intelligent person, and right now, I would say that you are not telling me the truth. In fact, I am getting the feeling that you are trying to get a chance to snoop around here." "Us? Nooo!" lied Oky Wan. "Really, we are just normal citizens trying to make a living! So, please let us proceed with our plans." "I am afraid I cannot do that," said Dox coldly. Suddenly, a couple of Battle droids appeared from behind the columns of the archway! MacK's hand quickly moved toward his comlink to call for backup, but before he could even reach it, the droids set their blasters to stun and shot him and Oky Wan. Both fainted and dropped to the floor while the Battle droids stepped forward to drag them away. ............ The next thing they knew was that they woke up in a dark cell filled with men in orange jump suits. One of the men appoached them and asked: "Hey, new guys, are you alright?" "Yeah," replied Oky Wan, "how about you, MacK?" "I'm fine," he said. "Parrah Dox, that son of a bantha, he must be working for the CIS! This just keeps getting better and better!" Oky Wan turned back to the stranger with the fedora: "Who are you, and where are we?" So, brickbreaker, it's your turn to post! How do you like my MOC? I tried to capture the feel of a Utapau sinkhole with this baseplate and the windmill. Also, I am very happy about how my Pau'an turned out - the old mummy face was just perfect with its grey skin, black eyes and red eye sockets! His name is a play on the word "paraodx", a common term in time traveling stories. The name of the sinkhole, Tapa City, is made up too. I just took a random part of Utapau, the name of the planet, just like the inhabitants always do (Utai, Pau'ans, Pau City, etc.). I gave you your usual hat, MacK, because I figured that you wouldn't want to walk around with a pilot helmet during our entire visit to Utapau. Hope that's cool. Oh, and Jim, PLEASE don't quote posts with pics, and especially don't post such a quote twice! Your last post took up almost half the page!

So the number of votes will be doubled and added to the number of votes for story? WOOHOO! I'm so dominating this contest! Yay me! Too bad there are no prizes, but oh well, it's reward enough to see all those compliments. Thanks, guys! Meh, don't worry about it. I have an "oddest" vote too. Then again, mine is probably more justified than yours since your MOC aint odd at all.
-
Now it's even huger, if that's even a word... And Lego must NOT be deleted! I think the DS price is OK, I mean, look at how many figs and bricks you get!
-
Yeah... me too. Exactly! It's all part of my masterplan to get 4th place! Nah, I actually don't care which place I get, as long as I win something!
-
I think you are mixing something up there. Those were two seperate things: CW commercials on YouTube, and a LSW pic used in a wookieepedia article. You can find links to both of these in this old post of mine. Oh, and btw, Indy Month is over now, so you can get rid of that humongous sig of yours.
-
Great set, great review! I have it too and I am very glad to own it! It will probably be the cheapest and best way to get a Grievous fig for a while (even though it doesn't come with a cape ). You guys know that you can use the new robot/skeleton arms from the Castle sets to make him hold his lightsabers horizontically, right? I always have him with two of each kind of arm.
-
Does anyone else think it's odd that TLG lists all kinds of brick-built droids as characters, but not the monster Dianoga which is an actual living thing? Just saying...
-
Yes, this is very well done! It really has that Pirate movie feel to it! And I completely agree to the things TinyPiesRUs has pointed out above. What software did you use for the water effects, if I may ask, and how did you make objects reflect in the water?
-
Hey guys, do you suppose the new AT-TE would fit on one of those large grey baseplates? It seems so long. Why am I asking? I am planning on going to my local Lego Store on the 26th to get the new CW sets and incoorprate them in my entry, so that I can kick all of your butts!
-
Ooh! Nice! Go, Plo Koon, go! Yeah, these are pretty awesome! Thanks for posting! It kinda makes me think if Treehouse Animation Studios will make a short film about the CW to promote the new line again! That would be cool! Btw, someone should edit the first post to have the new pic of the Saber Tank. It's such a cool set! What I like best about it is how you can customize the clones with accessories and that you can hide away the flickfire missiles and... oh, it's just so cool! Oh, and here's a random fact: Did you know that when you currently look for "Anakin's customized Jedi starfighter" on Wookieepedia, the only reference pic that comes up is the lego set of it? I thought that's kinda cool. you can check it out here.
-
Yeah, me too. It's not bad, but not the best. The fingers are too thick, the details at the front inaccurate, and the head is just weird. If you ask me, the best Waste Alocation Load Lifter - Earth Class MOC to date is this one: Sorry, Jordan, but I think you'd be better off returning to make JTTCOTE MOCs. I do like the cockroach, though. Did you know it's name is "HAL"? How many Space Odyssey references are in this movie?
-
Alright, I decided to be so nice to go through the trouble of using the "Print Screen" key on my keyboard, photoshopping the pic, and putting it on my Flickr in order to post it. So, here you go: I still don't know what it's called, though, but it does seem to be related with the Theta-class T-2c shuttle. And yes, it would probably be an interesting set - better than the Twilight at least!

I say: KILL HER! DEATH TO ALL NON-AFOLS! Seriously, though, that's a very tough and common situation you are in there. Unfortunately, there just are stubborn parents like that and there is little we can do about it. I am lucky enough to have parents who just want me to have a happy life, so I don't have that problem. Also, I am an art student, so whenever I have to explain my hobby to someone, I just say that Lego is just another medium of mine to express my creativity! It's true, Lego IS art! So, what I would do if I were you is to do some research and make a list of facts that prove why Lego is beneficial to a child and how it is useful in real life! I am sure you can find some on the Lego home page. I would definately include the uses of Lego in art and the Serious Play program! Fluyt's argument about the resell value of Lego is good as well! It would also be good if you could show her how many other teens and even adults are into Lego. When you make this list, be sure to refer to yourself and other AFOLs as "Lego enthusiats" - it just sounds better. Also, make sure that you mention the sources of all your facts - it's very important for your credibility! Then, when you're done with it, read the list to your mom so that she understands that Lego is not childish and/or useless! When she sees how much efford you have given to make this list, she will see how important your hobby is to you and just might allow you to continue your hobby as you wish!

Watched the new Futurama movie "The Beast with a Billion Backs" the other day. It was pretty good, I think, or at least better than the last movie "Bender's Big Score" which had a confusing story and drew most of its humor from refferences to old episodes. Although this latest adventure of the Planet Express crew has kind of a weird story too (Which Futurama story doesn't? ) and some a little peverse jokes, I can recommend it to anyone who likes Futurama as it certainly has the feel of the show. What's also neat are the special features on the DVD which include "the lost Futurama episode", which is a collection of the cutscenes from the Futurama Videogame and is pretty cool. Also, there is a preview of the next Futurama movie called "Bender's Game". It looks alright; it's about the gang visiting a planet that is exactly like the world of "D&D". What is most interesting, though, is that they will be attending a Spaceship Derby on the way, and that one of the contestants is flying a ship made out of Lego Bricks! That's gonna be fun!

Meh. I've seen better ones. There are quite a lot of variations of these everywhere.
