WOW! That is flippin' sweet! I'm all excited for this movie now! LOL! One of the clones tries to knock out a battle droid, hurts his hand, and gets shot; then Cody comes in and shows them how it's done. It's true though, the voice acting is kinda odd.

Well, I don't know about the part that I underlined... It would make more sense if the Sith didn't know about this at all IMO. But it would definately be OK if Grievous were behind it, so go ahead and edit your post so that it is him instead of Dooku.

Yes! Please make one! We need a quality review of it! And don't forget to clear up the mystery of the rear hatch for us!

Clone Wars Sets Now Available! Free Poster @ Argos!

How do you know that the Saber Tank will not be released in Canada? And is the US ever going to get it? -
YAY! Jim's back! I hope you could catch up, you missed quite a lot. Interesting new post! Some other players and I had agreed, though, that we shouldn't involve Dooku since he knows about Palpatine's master plan of using the clones later on to bring the Sith to power and, therefore, it wouldn't make sense for him to travel through time to eliminate the clone army. We thought that the mind behind the time travel project should be some other seperatist leader who doesn't know about the Sith's plan and authorized this operation without the knowlege of the Sith. But since you're the leader of this fantastic game, it's up to you of course!

The guns themselves don't fall off at all, but if you push them too hard to the side, the half of the ball with the gun on it pops out.

Very nice and detailed work indeed, good job! I have been to the Lego store in Ontario and visit the one in Downtown Disney every week, but I have never seen an AFOL-made display! Perhaps I should propose the idea of a WITC to them and offer my service. How do you usually get this privilege anyway? Do you ask for it or do you get asked somehow?

How are we supposed to think of sets based on a movie/TV-show that we haven't seen yet? Besides, don't we already have a 2009 wishlist? I don't feel like repeating my wishes.

OK, so I went to the Lego Retail Store in Downtown Disney today and participated in the contest. What you had to do was to put together 10 of the new Phase 1 clones as fast as you could. There were always four contestants, most of them 10 year-old boys. Everyone had a tray where he could arrange the helmets, heads, torsos, and legs before each start of the contest. Being the only AFOL competing, I won of course. What surprised me, though, was that all the clones had Commander Cody's helmet! So, after exchanging the arms with orange ones and adding some clone gear, I now got a Cody fig for FREE! I still wish this were a normal clone since I'll be getting the RGS at some point and would rather have another generic clone to add to my small army of Phase-1s than having two Codys. Oh well, maybe I'll mod the helmet so that it becomes that of a pilot, or maybe I'll sell the fig and get a whole new set from what I get for it. Did anyone else participate? what was your experience?

Then why do you lol? Anyway, I was missing pieces, too. Two 1x2 slope pieces. I already replaced them and will probably be too lazy to ask TLG for them.

Wow, that's creepy! I just took a little break from building mine and opened this up, and the first pic in this thread is the exact stage I am at right now. Strange... Anyway, nice review. I like this set and I thought the fact that the parts came in unnumbered bags is a good thing. I like it better this way; it's like making a puzzle: Most of the fun lies in finding the right piece, and as long as the build takes, the longer the fun lasts. Other than that, I found the build rather repetitive. Also, I think that the fact that you have to mod the interior is kinda good as well. It gives you the opportunity to build in anything you want. And I am more satisfied with the figs than you are, too. I like Anime Skywalker's hair and the fact that Rota's arms are posable, and the Asokah fig is a very interesting one, even though she looks like she gained a few pounds. Just look at the comparison:

You mean you can't move the legs. Even that isn't quite true, though, you can move them a little to make the clone look like he is at least walking. The pauldrons on the other hand are pretty neat IMO , except for the fact that you can hardly us them for Phase 2 clones. And the rest of the gear is pretty cool. The lamps seem a litttle big and look more like tiny jet engines but I think no one is gonna use 'em anyway.
-
Most of them aren't very good though. They either lack pics or details about the model, like swooshability and stuff. Therefore, if you think you can make a very good and detailed review, I'd say go for it, lego12! You can look at examples in the review index of this forum.

Yes, I saw the Terminator one as well. I don't really care if Arnie is in this one or as long as it's a good movie. This will be either really cool or really stupid - Can't quite tell from this teaser - but it does look interesting.

Clone Wars Sets Now Available! Free Poster @ Argos!

What kind of a poster is this? Oh well, I wont be able to get it anyway. Besides, it's just a poster - big whoop. -
I'm planning on getting an HSD, and I might get the Saber Tank as well, so I'll see what I can do. In what measurements do you need this data? Kilos or pounds? Centimeters or inches?
-
I don't know what "NPCs" are, but Mendis and Zues are characters that brickbreaker and I made up and who don't represent any players in this game, if that's what you mean. Therefore, it will be quite alright if they die together with Xela during our upcoming mission. How did you loose your post btw? Did you accidentally delete all of it? In that case, you can just right-click the text box and select "undo" the next time this happens.

Like some of you, I chose not to go. It was probably fun, but I wouldn't have bought anything since I totally knew the sets would be overpriced (stupid, greedy TRU! ). Besides, I probably couldn't have gotten a ride anyway. What I'll do is I'll go to the Lego Retail Store in Downtown Disney tomorrow (I live 15 min. away from it, yay for me! ) and buy the sets at the normal price and with 10% off using my Disneyland annual pass (yay 4 me again! ). I'll go there around 1 o'clock so that I can participate in the clone building contest and take home an extra free, new clone! I just hope they will have the HSD and Saber Tank, otherwise I'll have to stop by TRU on the way home after all. Anyone having similar plans?
-
It seems that all of the sets are available on S@H now for every country except the US. Do you guys think this means that the TRU exclusives will be available in LEGO Retail stores as well?
-
I saw the Dark Knight as well. It might not be the best movie ever, but it's very good! I also saw Gotham Knight before I went to see the other. It was alright, I guess, considering the fact that it's anime, which I am usually not a big fan of. Some of the stories were kinda cool, and Batsy kicked quite some butt at times, but as in all anime, everything could have been a little less slow.
-
This set is actually kinda nice. It's more original than the SW set at least. The SW exclusive was a combination of two BPs that were (and at some places still are) widely available with only a couple new minifigs added. This one has Indy and the natives that are only available in the temple set and the Jeep that is only available for BrickMaster subscribers, plus it has a neat ramp/pit/temple thingy. I would buy it for like twenty bucks or so, but of course it's more expensive than that.
-
I think it would be the Doc Ock from 4855. He is so cool with those four posable robotic arms on his back and that pissed look on his face! Also, he is wearing a green coat, my favorite color.
-
Oh, brickbreaker has bee banned? I thought he was only chambered. Oh well... LET'S KILL HIM! Anyway, could you please add a few lines to your post, simonjedi? It's a little hard for us to continue the story from where you left it off since we have no idea what you're talking about. Thanks!
-
True, but I am sure we will get a nice normal BP with a reasonable price soon enough, so if you don't have too much money, or are in desperate need of those 4-5 clones, I'd wait.
-
Ah, I just noticed why this set is so expensive: It includes a very super special exclusive LCW poster!
