You are right. I'm sorry, that wasn't a good pic to make my point. However, if you look at the pics from toy fair, you will see what I mean. So you admit that you were wrong? Oooh! Now I get it! I thought you were talking about the constraction fig. Yes, I do wonder that myself.
-
Awesome! Thanks for the new pic! I'm definitely sold on this one! The new figs look really cool, and the vehicle seems well designed. So now we know what 8188 "Lavaflitzer" and 8190 "mini-monster grabber" look like. Two more to go!
-
You are wrong. Just look at them! They all have the same old torso: two studs long, one stud wide, four plates high. What's supposed to be different about them? I still don't know what you mean. Oh well.
-
What the heck are you talking about? Ben 10: Alien Force is a continuation of the old Ben 10 show, only 3 years later. Ben 10.000 was just a possible future which may not even happen in the main timeline of the TV shows. And what does this have to do with Lego?
-
Sorry, but as I told the last few people who posted that, we have known about those pics since toy fair. I don't think he will be brick-built. Rather, I think he could be a Troll-like large mold. And Woody does not have a "jumbo torso", just lightly larger arms and legs, and that's not what a teddy bear needs. What do you mean, backwards? I don't think the horns come off. Everything above the eyes seems to be one mold. What?! Why would there be 3D glasses in a Lego set? To me, it looks like a simple demonstration of RC's pullback function. It's called a "Constraction Figure" and anyone who purchased a Bionicle set in the past two years will be able to tell you how the Midak Skyblaster works: It has a Y-shaped wheel at the front bottom, and there is a spring inside which pushes the balls forward. The wheel works as a trigger, so when you pull it, the ball gets pushed through the hole (which is a little bit smaller than the ball) and shot forward. It works very well and let's you shoot 4 balls at a time.

But it doesn't in this one. Either way, it is not quite what I had in mind. Oh well, it still looks pretty good.

Wow. So much exciting news these days! This picture is rather small, but I like what I'm seeing. It's nice to see that they changed the color scheme to fit the new environment. It'll cool having rock monsters in orange/black, and the dark blue parts will be more useful than the orange ones in the current sets. Also, the new gear on the miner looks interesting. Looking forward to more and/or clearer pics! Possibly. When done right, that would be pretty awesome. Where did you see that? And what's so funny about it? Well, that information was posted mere 2-3 pages ago by Svelte (Link). But since that was over a month ago, I guess we can't blame you. Thanks anyway. Btw, looking at that list again, did anyone think about the possibility that 8191 "Monster Power Miners jail" isn't the PM's jail for monsters, but the Monsters' jail for miners? I mean, we already have a base for the PM's (sorta), so this could be sort of a base for the rock/lava monsters! It would make sense because then the story could be that the PM are trying to bust out the prisoners. What about 10199 Winter Toy Shop or 10197 Fire Brigade? Weren't you impressed by those at all? What about SW? Aren't you at least interested in the BPs? But I agree, it's good how they are progressing the story this way. Btw, did anyone else find the two promos at Target? I checked all my local Targets, but they didn't have them.

Well, that wasn't his fortress, just a trap he set up for Buzz. It was on a random asteroid in Gamma Quadrant Sector 4 whereas Zurg's fortress is on Planet Z. (Yes, I am a PIXAR nerd. ) But yeah, it would be nice to see that at some point. It could be a set in the style of 7623 Temple Escape and include the trap door, a short coridor with the spiky moving wall, some round 2x2 plates on a trans clear plate (representing the hover bridge) which collapses, and the round main platform with the battery hologram. It could include Buzz, Zurg, and maybe a couple of those "battle droids". Joker's Rocket indeed. In fact, I'm already planing to make a spaceship for Zurg from those parts. Good point, but I think a simple bear head would do. Then again, this teddy looks quite big. He might even be larger than Woody. As a normal minifig (whether with Chewbacca body fur or not) might be too small compared to Woody. We'll see. I absolutely second those emotions!
-
No, they didn't, which is why this must be from TS3. Unless there is some translation error in the name of the set. Who wasn't. Seriously though, Zurg's fortress was never in the movies, so it's unlikely we will ever see that (or anything from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command for that matter) as a set. Wow! Thanks for that info, Dunjohn! Now we can at least imagine what that set could look like. Seems like it will simply be a small truck with a Lotso fig. Can't wait to see the first Teddy bear minifig!

Well, the fact that these are more Bionicle than anything else isn't new, so this is pretty much what I was expecting. It doesn't look bad, but not very good either. Even though it uses Bionicle joints and such, it doesn't look very legoish. But that might just be the blurriness, so, like Batbrick, I shall stay open-minded until we see some good pictures of these sets. What does Castle have to do with Bionicle-esque action figures? Are you talking about the Knights Kingdom action figures? Those were a bit different IMO as they used system parts, not Bionicle ones. Comparing these with Galidor is a bit harsh IMO. Whereas Galidor had almost nothing in common with Lego, the Ben 10 figures clearly have quite a bit of resemblance to Lego's successful Bionicle figures, so I don't see what the problem is. However, I must admit that my own interest is dwindling. We'll see how the rest of the sets turn out. As a few have said, there is still some hope for minifig-scale sets. I personally would simply love it if they made a set out of Kevin's car with the three main characters as minifigs.

Cool! Thanks Darthperson! Strange to see that the army men set is a march set, considering we have seen the set already, but none of the other march sets, but I guess that's because the rest are TS3 sets and are being held tightly under wraps. I would have hoped for some more TS3 sets, but maybe there will be some later on. My thoughts about the new sets: 7596 Alien Crane and Trash Compactor: Not sure what this could be, but it's probably from TS3. It sure sounds cool though! can't wait to see a pic. 7597 Western train: Hmm... a train. Not a big fan of those. However, I can imagine it to be a well designed set, and if this gets more people to buy sets from this theme, I'm fine with it. 7789 Lotso.s Truck Not sure about this one either. It has a strange set number and could be any size of set. It could either be the signature vehicle of one of the new toy characters from TS3 and therefore be a small minifig scale set, or it could be a human vehicle, meaning it would be a rather large set. I guess time will tell. And so, the wait for prelim pics begins...

The Death Star, hands down! This set has tons of playability and an incredible amount of great minifigs! And due to its large size, it provides many days of building fun. No one could have asked for more, and TLG have done a truly outstanding job on it! Unfortunately, I do not own it. The set that I personally enjoyed most is Mos Espa Podrace. It is highly detailed, has lots of figs as well, and is in true minifig scale! Here is to another ten years of great SW sets!
-
Er... Have you heard of a little theme called Power Miners? There's not one old face in that theme, and that means something, because all heads are double sided.
-
I'm actually liking what I'm seeing. The two large subs look rather cool and remind of themes like Hydronauts. It's a shame that the ruins set isn't the largest of the line, but it looks nice nevertheless. The shark looks just like a black version of the Aquaraiders one, so that one isn't anything special. The impulse sets are quite neat though, and I'll be sure to get the Turbojet for the fig. I'm also happy to see that the fish heads aren't head molds, but head gear. The heads underneath look pretty cool and useful. However, due to all the irresistible licensed sets next year, I'll probably miss out on most of this theme. I must agree, though, that it is rather strange that TLC cancels the well-selling Pirate line for a theme that has resemblance to a theme that didn't sell so well not all that long ago.
-
That is rather sad news indeed. Thanks for letting us know, though, Bonaparte. It was great seeing Pirates again, and the sets they released were all awesome. Of course it's dissappointing that there was only one wave, especially considering that themes like Power Miners have three, but I guess it's better than nothing. Let's just hope that Pirates will return again soon and be even better than before.

Raphy's review of Freeze Ray Frenzy is still missing. However, I wouldn't mind my review of that set to be the only one indexed.

Then again, if they sell two chrome magnets (4x4 bricks) for ten dollars, I can imagine the price of a whole chrome ship to be that high. Anyway, I really want there to be a cheap set with Mon Calamari figs in it. Even a Home One magnet set would do. A Mon Cal BP would a dream, but is unlikely to happen. Maybe during the ROTJ anniversary... And we really need a CIS capital ship.
-
I did some searching as well, and I found the part with Mon Calamari you were talking about, and it's only in Florida: As for the X-Wing, there seems to be one displayed outside the ride in Paris: And just for fun, here is the Star Tours flight plan: Man, it would be sooo awesome if you could actually visit all those places! Also, it would be nice if that stupid droid pilot would actually bring you to Endor for once.
-
That's fine. I can imagine it perfectly well. Thanks. Sigh. Always those ratchet kids! Why are they so interested in our Lego anyway? Silly children, Lego is for AFOLs! On to the next riddle: What's up with Buzz' helmet? Why is it always seen half open? Is there perhaps a front half that we haven't seen until now or is this how it's meant to be?
-
Well, that settles that. Thanks, Shtick! So, do Buzz' wings have some kind of stick to fit in that notch or how does it work exactly? I can see a knob on the side of the jail. I bet it's some kind of jailbreak feature. Also, now that I think about it, it's kinda strange that there is Wanted poster for Stinky Pete. I mean, wasn't he a good guy in Woody's Round Up? Oh well, I guess it adds more story and playability to the set. And I suppose you're right, Svelte. The fact that they didn't use that piece on the jeep proves that they developed it solely for the purpose of stickers. Some people are probably happy about that, but I'm not. I never had problems with stickers (I even prefer them over prints sometimes), nor did it bother me if they were put on top of multiple bricks. Therefore, as I said before, this seems like a pointless juniorization to me. But if it makes other people happy, so be it.

The whole thing is supposed to be a spaceport, and you are a passenger waiting for your flight. The droids are there as personnel, aiding with spaceship maintenance and such, but some are broken, so there are also droids to fix the droids. Next time you go there, listen to what the droids are saying. It's quite hilarious. Btw, does anyone else find it funny that Panna is one of the listed flight destinations? And whether Echo Base or Home One, Ackbar is Ackbar, and he aint there. End of story.
-
Thanks, Clone O'Patra. Too bad. I was getting my hopes up for a midi-scale AT-AT. I would much prefer that over yet another minifig scale one.
-
darkrebellion, could you please give us a link where you found that quote? Because I went through their 2010 Star Wars discussion topic but couldn't find it. Thanks.
-
Actually, I do remember now that there is an X-wing hung from the ceiling in another building in Tomorrowland (I think it's the Starcade), but I'm pretty sure there is no Ackbar.

You'd be surprised. Lego designers can be very creative with rubber bands sometimes. For example, the way the Technic Droideka, PIT, and Battle Droid transformed is pretty amazing. @ Klaus Dieter: Do you mind clearing it up for us which Buzz Lightyear you meant?
